Korenthia's eyes flutter open from a long night slumber. Her vision is foggy at first, then gets sharp. She looked around at her brother and sister. A smiled rose on her face as she watched her family sleep. The cool, crisp wind brushed threw her fur. She could feel her dry tounge as is begged for water. Koenthia rose to her paws, then put her rump in the air and streached. Her paws tingled as she steped on the dew covored grass. It may be a brisked cold spring morning. But, it wil be warm, comfortable afternoon. When she reached the clear, cool stream, Korenthia lapped up the clear water. It made her shiver slightly as the cold water drifed down her throught. When she was quenched, she decided to explore the woods of the Warriors of Isket.
She lifted her muzzle to the sent of an deer. Her stomach instintly told her to track that sent, and she listened. As she ran her paws bearly touched the ground. The feel of the wind threw her fur, made her smile even brighter. Running was one of her loves in life, and she will always love running. Korenthia could smell the deer as she came closer, the deer was limping when she came in to site. Korenthia slowed to a walk as she got closer to the limping deer. Her eyes scaned the area to see if any other Warriors where there, but no one was there. The doe could not smell Korenthia, cause the wind was blowing in her advantage. Korenthia licked her lips, and smirked. She set her paw on a stick, and snaped it. The doe picked her head up in a instint then bolted south, away from Korenthia.
The doe ran swiftly threw the dence forest, but Korenthia fallowed swiftly behind. She jumped over a large log, that the doe bearly made over. Ahead of the lame doe, was a large root from a 100 year old red oak tree. The doe did not see the root and triped, Korenthia did not waste any time for the kill. She jumped on the doe and bit down in to her neck, killing her quickly and painless. Her eyes faced the air and whispered, "Thank you for this meal, I will assure you none of it will go to waste." She smiled, then looked at the doe, then the position of the sun. "They must be up now, and wondering where I am." She said to her self as she hoisted the doe on her back and Korenthia ran back to her family.
Korenthia's paws touched down on the now, warm grass. She smiled as she ran. Her parents came in to view first, then she saw her siblings. She slowed to a trot and droped the doe infront of her parents. They said words of congratulation. She smiled and nodded then let her parents and siblings eat first. Korenthia never minded her family eating before her, she just smiled and after they had finished, she ate the last of the precious meat. After her stomach was content, she layed down under a large tree, and drifted to a nice peaceful nap.
~One Year Later. Korenthia is now a young adult~
Korenthia awoke from a sleep, she still had her armor on from the day before. She cocked her head at the feeling in the air. Somethings wrong, but what? Her eyes watched the shadows, as she was taught to look beyond the trees into and the shadows, but she saw nothing. Or nothing different than that she could see. Her nose took to the air, and she sniffed. Nothing. She got up to her paws and swiftly headed into the woods. Korenthia was piratically silent as she moved, even with her armor on. She has always felt faster, stronger and quieter when she has her armor on. And that was true, she moved quicker, quieter and was stronger, also she was more agile. Her armor made her fell complete, she now felt whole.
Her ears flicked to the sound of a footstep, she turned her head to see a male wolf. Korenthia growled. "State you reason." The wolf did not look intimidated. Her golden eyes focused on the wolf. Wolves have been one of the Warriors most dangerous enemies. They have tried to over take there territory. And they some times succeeded. She put her tail up and growled threw her armor. "Leave." She growled, also baring her large fangs.
The male chuckled, then his face became serious. "You leave little one. You are not ready to fight a wolf."
She dug her claws in the ground, in anger. She was offended by this. "Your the one who is not ready." Korenthia spat.
"Back down, and you will not get injured."
"Over my dead body." Her eyes shot a warning glare.
"That can be arranged." He began to walk around her, as he did so, the wolf nipped her tail, under her armor.
Korenthia growled and wiped around, biting his neck. The male growled at the young female, then kicked her off. She landed on her feet, stopping in a skid. Her eyes glared in anger as she ran to him. The male had a slight smirk on his face when she ran to him, he was ready for her to come and how he would attack. But, she was taught to make the most undetectable move, and that is just what she did. The wolf was in mid bitting mode, this would make him take down Korenthia, but she was ready for that. As he was just about to bite, Korenthia jumped; the wolf bit right in to thin air. When she was in the air from her powerful jump, she clamped down on the wolf's neck, and she over threw him and pinned him down, bitting his neck hard. She snarled. "Beg."
"Never." The wolf chocked out, then tried to kick her stomach. But, it only broke his paw by the force, and that she had armor on.
"Beg." She squeezed his neck.
"N..N..No!" He snarled, and tried to over throw her, it didn't help.
Korenthia smirked and bit down on a vital vane. Within a couple of seconds the wolf fell limp, and she removed her fangs from the dead body. To only realize that this was a alpha of a pack, and the pack surrounded her. She knew that she could not take on all the wolves, at least not know not at her age and intelligents of fighting. Some backed away from her, but also some stayed but all of them, she could tell, that they had fear in there eyes. Her eyes locked with theres and she growled a very strong, "Leave." Most of them could see that she would kill. So they backed away and left but two stayed. "Now!" She snarled baring her large fangs. That would scare most wolves, if not all, to leave. And they did, they did it fast. It didn't take them more than 10 seconds for them to leave.
Her eyes where filled with anger. But she did the one thing that could make her feel better. And that was to run. So she took off. Her eyes locked in front of her. Being the first born, she was larger, stronger and defiantly faster. If she was just as fast as she was, just not a strong. She could still be one of the best fighters there is, like she is today. She would use her speed to focus her target and attack. But, she wasn't thinking of that as she was thinking of running. The wind in her fur, as it poured in and out of her armor, cooling her down. She smiled when her paws touched the cool Earth. Korenthia felt like she was flying as she ran. Her paws barely touching the ground. Speeding past trees, and other Warriors. She smiled as she ran past other Warriors of Isket. Korenthia knew that they thought she was very fast, and she smiled. This female ran for about 6 miles. Then eventually she ran back, she ran to a stream not to far from where she started and other Warriors. She lapped up lots of water to quench her thirst. Then she walked back to camp, her eyes looked at the other Warriors, she was the only one with her armor on. She didn't care and smiled, then she layed down int he shade and drifted into a peaceful slumber.
~Five Months later.~
Korenthia awoke from a nudge, which she learned that it was her father, Darzek. She looked at him and he could tell he was worried. "Whats wrong father?" She asked in a concern voice.
"Come with me, Korenthia." He gave a slight smile, so she would not be worried. And he started to walk into the woods. Korenthia stood up and followed her father swiftly and quietly. She looked forward as she walked. Her father never asked her to come with him alone, it has always been her brother, and she and her sister stayed with there mother, Amanra. Korenthia had always thought that she got most of her markings from her mother, but she didn't know what she had gotten from her father.
When they got to there destination, her father sat down on a large boulder and looked over the cliff, looking down at the Warrior camp. Korenthia walked up and sat on the smaller boulder, and looked down at the camp. Silence was between the father and daughter.
"Korenthia." Her father said, quietly.
She looked at him, "Yeah?" She smiled.
"I've seen you run and hunt. You are one of the fastest young adult Warriors I have ever seen. And I have seen how you thank the gods, for your kill. I can see things inside of you, that I wish I had. But, Im glad that you have them. Rather than I." Her father said proudly.
"Like what Dad?" She asked with a smile.
"Your speed. I have wished I was faster than I am."
"But, dad you are fast. Faster than me."
"Well, I wont be for long. And you appreciation for what you kill. Like how you thank the gods for what they have given to you. I have that, but it's not as strong as yours. And how you kill the injured, or sick. And that you kill bucks more often than doe's."
Korenthia nodded, she really had nothing to say, she had never been in this position. But, she was sure her brother had. He had always been his favorite. And her younger sister had always been her mothers favorite. Korenthia never been any one's favorite. She looked down at the camp. She saw young Warriors train with there parents or mentor. She let out a slight breath. Her father looked at her and then jumped, swiftly off the boulder. Korenthia watched her father, and she fallowed him swiftly. She walked up to him as they walked.
"Race?" Korenthia said with a smirk.
"If you think your up for it." He laughed a little.
"Well, I am more than ready." She laughed.
"Ok, then. I warned you." He smiled. "Ready."
"Set."
"Go." He said and bolted towards there den. Korenthia fallowed him swiftly, he was ahead of her, but only slightly. She knew where they where going. She smiled, Korenthia knew a short cut. As her father ran, she slowed and headed into the woods. And thats when her real speed came out, she bolted quickly, quietly and swiftly as she bounded around trees, jumping over logs and boulders. Then she saw her mother and siblings, also her father. Wow, he is fast. She thought, as she ran out of the woods and ran into the den. She was pretty sure her father didn't see her, because he asked her mother if she had seen her. Before, her mother could answer Korenthia walked out of the den and smiled at her father. "I beat ya dad." She laughed. Her father laughed too.
"I didn't even see you pass me, most of the time I thought you weren't fallowing me."
Korenthia just smiled and laughed, as she beat her father, at running and skill.
The Kor, is Korenthia it just got cut off. I hope you didnt mind that I outlined the feathers of her wing markings on her shoulder. On the top of her head the white, looks gray in the picture I used a white colored pencile, sorry it looks gray.... I hope you enjoy this! I am proud of this, not very proud I know if I could do better on her coloring. I plan to draw a picture of Korenthia once a month, or when ever I find the time. I will try to draw on Chicken Smoothie, but it wont ever be as good as your drawings.
(Please click and comment. I would love help on my drawing.
I plan on making more drawings, the reason I haven't already is because of home work.
I have a wonderful idea for her armor. Sleek, slender, but strong and intimidating. But, I'm going to wait on that, till the contest is over, and if I win this beautiful pup.
Thank you Neara, for the chance to have one of these wonderful pups. I know Im not perfect, I make mistakes. Just like any human being. But, I hope you pick a owner for her that will spoil this stunning Warrior of Isket. And who ever wins her, I will give them my art that I drew of her (Give my credit for the art.)
