Number of the Pup: The gorgeous number 3
Name: Catori - I know I used it last week, but it’s the Lakota word for Spirit, which I think really suits her personality. Nicknamed Cat or Tori by those who know her.
Gender: I would like her to be a female.
Why are would you like to adopt it: How could I not? This little girl is absolutely beautiful, her coat colour and pattern is amazing and works brilliantly, she’s just the kind of character I adore and I had to try for her. Just the fact that she consists of two of my favourite colours (blue and brown) would have been enough for me to fall for her, I honestly don’t think I could have designed a WOI that I liked as much as this one. She makes me glad I lost last week and I knew I had to try for her straight away.
She caught my eye as soon as I clicked on the page, it’s everything about her in all honesty, she’s just such a wonder character already and if I win her I look forward to bringing her to life so everyone else can see how amazing she is too.
I look forward to RP’ing with the rest of the WOI and she would be the perfect one for me to do this with, I already have such a personality in mind for her, she’s managed to take on quite the life form of her own. I enjoy drawing her already and look forward to practising this more with her, she’s just got such a nice design to draw.

Write a short story for it:
Personality -
Spirited - Always lively and animated there are few other ways to describe her that fit so well, she’s always playful and looks at life with a bright almost childlike view, she knows there are awful things in her world but refuses to let it cloud her mind and make her weak and fearful, a firm believer in the power of laughter and fun she’s a bit of a clown.
Thoughtful - often seen drifting around in her own little world Catori has a tendency to be a tad too thoughtful, but she does love sitting around and pondering things. It has helped her hone her mind though and benefit her by making her a sharp quick thinker on her feet in any situation.
Intelligent - always engaged in some kind of brain activity, be it something important or just wondering how many small fish you could fit into a big fish her brain is always problem solving and working things out. She likes to make little puzzles for herself and also practises tracking other wolves to keep her mind and sense’s keen. She’s pretty quick witted and can outsmart most other animals easily.
Daring - Though she’s a tad smaller than most wolves her age she makes up for it with her fearlessness, oh sure sometimes she’s scared but she doesn’t let it stop her. One of her main goals is to help protect her family and she’d rather put herself in danger than risk anyone else, she’s very loving. It leads her to danger sometimes but she faces it with a strong heart.
Loyal - the idea of being disloyal makes her feel ill, she detests anyone who would even think of betraying their pack and the idea baffles her, why would anyone do it? She stands proudly with her family and alongside anyone who needs her, she would never turn her back on anyone from her home.
Caring - being such a friendly ball of energy she loves everything and everyone (except the kronadors!) and can often be found playing with the other wolves of cuddling the youngsters. Always a paw to cry on and an ear to lend she has a deeply caring side.
She doesn’t often get angry and has any temper well under control, but she can snap if anyone she loves is threatened or hurt, a bit absent minded she often drifts off for hours at a time in daydreams, but she’s smart and can snap out of it in a second if needed. She’s a very energetic ball of playful pup and has a real bubbly nature barely sitting still unless she feels contemplative.
Usually happy go lucky she can snap and become serious in a second, focused and dangerous.
Likes-
Stars - They fascinate her with their blinky twinkling and she’ll watch them for hours each night in wonder, just watching them twinkling. She also loved chasing shooting stars and likes to think that you can wish on them when they vanish.
Water - what could be better than hopping in the river and playing on a hot day? Her puppy like nature enjoys water more than anything and she’ll swim for hours in the summer.
Running- she likes to train herself and running is one of her favourite ways to do it, seeing how fast and far she can push herself each time, the way the wind blows in her fur, the way the grass feels under her paws. All amazing to her.
Storms - she loves the rumble of thunder and the flashing of lighting, she thinks it pretty and will watch it for hours. Sometimes sat out in the rain and sometimes from the comfort of her den.
History -
The liveliest of her siblings she was the first to do anything, adorable little ball of fuzz she was no one could be angry with her for long and she grew up with a sunny and happy outlook on the world, often drifting off into her own little world and playing little games on her own. A natural curiosity for the world often got her in scraps, falling down holes she couldn’t scramble out of and climbing trees that were too high for her. Always rescued she greeted her rescuer with a giggle and a nuzzle of affection before bounding off to her next adventure, unscathed and unaffected. An avid swimmer if she wasn’t to be found playing in the long grasses she could be found pouncing around in the water, playing whatever game came to mind.
As she grew she developed an intelligence that coupled with her curiosity gave her a whole new wondrous outlook on life and she spent hours wondering over the mysteries of the universe, just laying around watching the stars or the clouds drifting around. She became a well rounded teenager and gave her best at everything she did, training herself to be the quickest wolf she could be, knowing her small size would never allow her to be the tallest or strongest. Her speed and agility was something fun to her and she spent hours devising new ways to train herself. Now she is a lean and well built wolf with keen senses and a sharp mind, her sunny outlook on life still intact and her playful spirit keeping her smiling and puppy like.
Harder, better, faster, stonger….
Run, run, run faster, quick quick little lighting paws, go go go go, quick, that’s it, fast, quick, run! Don’t stop…
Curled up in the first light of morning four little paws twitched over the dusty earth, a little tail flicked back and forth as a tiny body flexed and moved as if trying to run. A proud mother watched over this pup and it’s two siblings, only a few months old the pups were still small and growing quickly, the little twitching pup was quickly proving herself to be the boldest of the pups, eager to get out and see the world she often tried on tiny stumbling paws to escape the confines of the den, keen to explore with her newly opened eyes. With a quick whimper and another few kicks the little pup settled herself down and curled up in a ball, fast asleep.
Months past quickly and she grew quickly to start with, however she remained shorted than her siblings as months past, she didn’t mind though and continued to play happily with the rest of the youngsters, yet unnamed they all went by number and she was pup three, the youngest of the litter but by no means the weakest. In fact none of them were weak, they all grew incredibly healthy and strong, lustrous coats gleamed in the summer sun. They were growing up fast.
I’m sure anyone who has ever set paw in Isket remembers seeing the rolling blue ocean for the first time, I know I remember the first day I saw it. A few months old with a heart full of mischief and eyes full of wonder I stepped from my mothers side and away from my siblings to see what lay beyond the circle of light that housed us now. My breath caught in my throat and my tiny legs froze, locking me in place as I gazed around the splendour before me, amazing, wonderful, brilliant land surrounded me and my new young eyes struggled to take it all in.
“Beautiful isn’t it” I heard my mother say behind me, but I had no time to listen, I wanted to be out there, feel the grass against my paw pads, roll and play in it. I bounded forward with great excitement, the texture of the ground surprising me, it was soft, yet not soft. Almost prickly as I walked over it, I looked around myself my jaw hanging slightly open as I took it all in. I heard a short laugh behind me and I continued to explore the rocks around my home, crawling over them and sniffing at them curiously, smelling many different scents as I explored.
I was not outside long when I saw him, he walked past head straight and proud, moving easily, another came behind him and another, three huge wolves loomed towards me, I sat back on my haunches and stared at them, eyes wide and unblinking as I watched them. Their armour gleamed in the soft morning sunlight and they walked with a purpose, a sense of destiny, I was enthralled. One of them saw me watching and turned his great head to wink at me.
That was the day I knew I -had- to become a warrior. I never saw the little group again and accepted that I probably wouldn’t, as I grew the memory became fuzzy at the edges and I guessed I would never have recognised them again anyway. Besides, there were many warriors around the den site and we saw them all the time, they became no less entrancing to me. I wanted armour but first I had to gain myself a name, us pups weren’t names at birth but eventually found a name, though I wasn’t told how, supposedly I had to find it by myself. Both my siblings had names and now I was going to get one.
Yawning and stretching I opened my eyes slowly, the grey light of dawn washing through the den site chased the stars away and left everything bathed in an almost sliver light, streams of mist shivered away as the sun rose and dew clung to the grass. I stood on my branch having chosen to sleep in a tree the night before and stretched out, my long legs out in front of me as I bowed and yawned, straight again I shook my fur out and bounded from branch to branch, landing and sending a small puff of dust rising from the hard sun baked ground. Padding to the edge of the nearby stream I crouched and lapped at the cool lazy water, wondering idly if it was to early yet for a bath, deciding it could wait I straightened and turned to head out of the main den site, following a dusty trail out of the clearing and through the hills for a while, before coming to the foot of a mountain, not a huge one you see but big enough it would be a full days climb. Scrabbling up the first stony slope I made steady progress up the first hill, stopping every now and again to look over my light furred shoulder, watching the sun rise over the horizon and feeling the change in temperature as it did so. The land looked wonderful at that time of morning, with the sun turning the sky pink and purple and gold, slowly fading out to light blue and azure, the grass and flowers tipped with light shone like jewels and made I smile as I climbed, my mind wondering idly over why this should be the place i had chosen to look for a name. Hours later with my muscles starting to ache and my legs feeling like they might have turned half to jelly I rounded the top of a long winding path to stand panting lightly in front of a dark opening. I winced as I noticed a bone just outside the dark cave mouth, not letting myself stop to think about what it could be from I lifted a paw and started in towards whatever might lay in wait. The light did not penetrate well for long and soon a murky darkness had swallowed me up, I shivered as the frigid air sought my skin through my fur, however a buzz of excitement tingled through me and I continued eagerly, sure now that something waited here for me. After following the twists and turns of the cave I came to a fork in the trail, one side smelled rather strange so I followed the other, water had started to drip from roof of the tunnel and I knew from the gradual slope I followed that I was going down, deeper into the belly of the beast. I chuckled to myself as I joked around in my head, the fearless wolf on her way to find destiny. The white of my muzzle made a slight glow in front of my and for a moment I wondered how light was managing to get this far into the dark, yet it was. Odd, I puzzled over it for a while as I walked, only stopping when the trail I followed started to widen and lighten. Walking a few more steps I came into a chamber, lit by glowing blue stones on the floor, a soft laugh echoed round the room and I jumped backwards, lowering my head slightly, ears forward and alert as I moved forward again, intrigued by the room.
A big circle at the centre stood what appeared to be an alter, full of water and surrounded by multi coloured crystals, blue, green, red, purple you imagine the colour it was there, some as tiny as pebbles some as huge as my paw. Soft glowing blue orbs hung around the chamber, hung being the wrong word, they seemed to float unaided.
An urge to go and look in the water filled me and pushed me forwards, making me bend my head and gaze through the shimmering blue to the bottom, seeing my reflection I gasped what I saw wasn’t just any plain reflection, it was like looking into my soul. I stared for a moment and then I knew my name as if I had it my whole life. “Catori” I whispered to myself, still staring into the water with wonder. As I spoke the water rippled and towards the bottom a pink stone appeared, not much smaller than my paw it shimmered in the water, the image disturbed for a moment as I plunged my muzzle into the cool liquid, my teeth closing gently round the stone and pulling it out. This was meant for me, and suddenly I knew more than I had ever known, my name, my purpose, my strengths and weaknesses, that this stone in my muzzle would eventually be fixed into the breast plate of my adult armour. It matched the shade of my eyes exactly and suddenly I was filled with a great joy, and my heart soared, longing to be outside where I could play with the wind, I noticed a leather strap round the stone and bent to attach it to my paw, tightening the strap with my teeth, it was a simple string and loop and as soon as I felt it was secure I turned and ran from the cave, long easy strides taking me quickly away from the cave. I didn’t even notice the glow from the lamps fade.
As I reached the turn however a scratching noise unnerved me and cautiously I slithered forwards on my belly, my ears flat and my mind in overdrive. The slithery scratching continued for a moment and then went silent, no light allowed me to see what it was that had made such a noise and I wasn’t sure I really wanted to see the source of it.
Crawling along on my belly I kept my ears up, determined to get out of this cave and back home fast, and not get caught by whatever was making the noise. My plan lasted and I snuck past the noise with no problem, quick quivery breaths panting from me, it wasn’t that I was afraid you see, but caution warned me this was nothing I wanted to explore. I burst into the light and the second the sun touched my fur I bounded away, a grin licking across my face as I leaped from the cave mouth and onto the trail. My paws were quick, beating out a drum beat pattern that I danced too as I flew down the hill, my heart soaring over the blue landscape to fly free with the birds overhead. I alternated running with joyous leaps, jumping feet into the air and spinning around, laughing as I did so. I felt I could fly if I really wanted to.
Reaching the bottom of the tack in record speed and much faster than I had ascended I skidded to a halt in the dust, clawing at the dirt and spinning out in a circle flinging up dust behind me as I went. Giddy with the thrill of it all I bounded along the rocky wall for a moment, never seeing the assailant above me until it was far too late.
I felt a sudden pressure in my side that threw me off my paws, sending me hurtling into the dirt a few feet away, pain rocked through me as I shook me head and tried to sort my scattered thoughts…what on earth was happening to me! As I lifted my eyes and turned to the side I saw the source of my attack, a Kronador, stood a mere foot away, snarling at me with its ugly face. A growl ripped through my chest as I hauled myself up and crouched, snarling, teeth exposed and ears pinned to my skull. It wasn’t an adult, a mere year or so old but it was already big enough to make a difficult opponent. My hackles up I waited for it to make the first move, I wanted the advantage and I stood, biding my time.
Eventually it lunged, aiming straight for my throat, I skipped back lightly on my huge paws, dashing to the side and darting in to snap at one of its legs, my teeth finding purchase and ripping.
It let out a dreadful yowl and came at me again, the pair of us twisting writhing and snapping, neither gaining the easy lead but at least I was managing to stay unharmed, until he caught my back leg in his disgusting teeth. I felt the flesh there tear as he swung his head to the side, pain flashed through me and I gritted me teeth to stop the howl of pain that threatened to spill from my chest and un do me. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to fight on if I let it get to me I twisted and used my other blackleg to kick it under the chin catching it in the throat and making it cough, letting my injured flank go. Wrenching myself up and tentatively touching my paw to the ground I winced and cursed under my breath, holding my leg up and while the thing was still choking I aimed for his throat, one short lunge and my jaws me skin. It was over quickly then.
I turned my back on the thing and set off for home, limping and hopping across the soft grass, my flank sticky with blood I sighed in relief as I came to the river. Sinking into the cool water I lay still for a moment, letting the cool river wash me and clean me, with a regretful sigh but with the pain numbed I pulled myself from the water, quickly cleaning my muzzle before heading off. To keep my mind from returning to my leg I made a game of hopping through the grass, pretending for a while I was a crab and going sideways. Giggling a little as I came to a hill I rolled down the sloping bank, forgetting for a second about my injury until a flash fire of pain shot along my leg. Hissing through my teeth I lopped along towards home, the beauty of the day managing to lift my spirits one more and I ran with a smile on my face, ignoring the pain in my leg and concentrating on the world around me. With home coming into sight I shortened my stride and sighed softly, no doubt there would be trouble for my most recent escapade. I walked slowly into camp, my mother seeing me first gasped and ran towards my old puppy den. I paused and hung my head, hoping I looked suitably sorry and suppressing the giddy feeling that came with the findings within the cave, The stone still tight round my paw.
My father came flying from the den site with an urgent look about his eyes, seeing me he slowed slightly and shook his head “what have you done now”
“I got caught by a Kronador” I kept my head up and spoke clearly “it attacked and I killed it, but he caught me first” I indicated my leg.
Sighing my father nodded “alright, are you ok apart from that?”
“Yes father” I nodded solemnly before the joy broke through on my face, my eyes lit up and my tongue lolled to the side in a wolfish grin, my father raised an eyebrow and nodded for me to continue “I found my name!” I said happily, my tail swishing behind me “Its Catori and then this pink stone appeared!”
He smiled and dipped his big head down to look me in the eye “Then I think once your healed it’s about time you got your armour, Catori”
Time passed quickly then for me, and my leg healed well slowly I began to use it again, keeping it from going stiff, I remained happy go lucky and often took the pups swimming with me over the weeks I was healing, the gentle exercise and playing in the river was enjoyable and didn’t strain my injury. The elders were slightly bemused that the attack had not tainted me and seemed to have never happened, for I was back to my bubbly silly self and was a free spirit still.
This was now the eve before my armour was being given to me, I wondered up to the highest hill in our lands and stood on the grassy mound head high staring at the stars, it was peaceful up here and I took a deep breath of the sweet night air the wind ruffling my fur gently. Tomorrow was the start of my life, puppy hood was over.
