Non-realistic is fine as long as there is no unnatural colors (unnatural eyes are okay though)
Tail length doesn't really matter
I'm sure he'd prefer short furred since he isn't keen on long haired cats as he hates the fur getting up his nose.
I think maybe a lynx point or something unusual but pretty might catch his eye since he;s a rather vain kitty.

(P.S. The stripes on his ref are random apart from the tail and face .3.)
