Well, iv'e been studying wolves for about 17 years now, and yes, they DO have blue eyes. How do you think Huskies developed Blue eyes? Wolves can also have brown eyes, green eyes, amber eyes, and red eyes. Although red eyes are very rare, they are mostly found in albino wolves, but CAN be found in wolves with a trace of albinism in the mother or father. (Sorry, I just had to post this. :D )

red and blue eyes do not exist in the wolf kingdom. red you say are found in the albino part of wolves, but actually, albino wolves would have blue ,dazed, eyes,(blind looking eyes) if they ARE ever albino. (terribly rare albinos, may not even exist) and wolves cannot have blue eyes. they simply cannot. it is a very simple and very common mistake between wolf lovers, but if you even actually studied for a whole 17 years, you would know this. and i don't only study wolves, i also study other animals too. I found out how dogs became so different from wolves, which explains the blue eyes in huskies. Wolf-Dogs with blue eyes are often mistaken for wolves with blue eyes. another often mistake is seeing a wolf with silver eyes (i know it sounds crazy but gray eyes do exist)

I hope this helps with your "17 year" wolf studies!

i agree with wolflover288, wolves cannot have blue or red eyes... i am surprised that you think that even after studying wolves for 17 years... but, i guess it is a common mistake... oh well, i guess we all make a mistake or learn something new every day :D
happy wolf studies! :D

"Wolves are usually born with deep blue eyes which lighten and then gradually fade into the adult eye color over the next six to ten weeks. A mature Wolf's eyes are often amber/brown or gold, but also commonly come in hues of brown, gray, yellow, and green. It is interesting to note that puppies are born with blue eyes, while mature Wolves do not retain blue as an eye color. Huskies often have blue eyes, and because of this people think there must be blue eyed Wolves as well, but this isn't true. If you see a Wolf with blue eyes then he or she is likely a Wolf-hybrid and not a full-blooded Wolf."

I made a fur guide if any one is interested and to the comments above that really interesting, although to the person above me you can't always believe what you read online because I found a site that says there are blue eyed wolves so...

I know that you can't always believe what you read, but i knew this beforehand, and just needed a way to put in in words, so, of course, someone lended those words to me :D thanks for being inspiring though.
I know that they can't have blue or red eyes because i have been studying wolves for 5 years now, and Shaun Ellis, The Wolf Man, never fails me :)
