Could a get a few tips on how to make tortise shells/ chimeras?

(1)Torties usually have a lot of different kinds of brown in them (i know cause i has a tortie in rl :3). They also have some blacks and greys mixed in there. When making a tortie on CS you should use scattering on the pen/pencil to make it a little more realistic or you could use the smudge brush to mix it on the kitten/cat and make it look even more realistic. :3
(2)Do you mean calicos?
