Pup I Want: 6
Why I want this Pup:
His design is very intricate and caught my eye - Da ears! <3 I also don't have any OCs on CS, so he'd give me something to play with now that I'm sticking my nose into the forums more often. ^.^
What I'll do with the Pup: Draw him, love him...
Name of Pup: Pete
Gender of Pup: Male
Personality:
Pete's a down-to-earth kind of guy with a decent sense of humor despite his somewhat reserved manner. A bit lazy, actually. He loves nothing more than curling up in front of the fire with a hot cup of tea and having a nice chat with his shadow... oh, didn't I mention? His shadow's alive. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not - it doesn't bother Pete any either way. He's used to it. Makes for good company on a rainy day at least.
Story:
((Set sometime into the future - I'm not good at doing 'happy hyper puppy.' Also anthro-ish.))
A shrill whistle brought him to his senses - the sound of a tea kettle needing attention in the other room. It was one of his favorite sounds in the world, and far better than any alarm-clock he'd ever owned at getting him moving in the morning. Still... Pete yawned widely and pushed his glasses back into place. He must have dozed off while waiting for the water to boil. He was in no hurry this morning though, it was Saturday after all, and with the shop closed on Saturdays, he had no place in particular he had to be. Pete got to his paws and stumbled into the kitchen, still not completely awake. It was always nice not having to rush off and open the shop on Saturdays; weekends let him move at his own pace. He didn't have to worry about Mr. Grey's pocket-watch, sitting on his workbench with the cracked gear, or Mrs. Karlile's coo-coo clock - the one that had simply gotten old and seized up. If that woman didn't stop bothering him about it every other day... Pete grunted and turned the stove off. He was good, but even he needed time to completely disassemble the mechanism, clean it, fix the problem, and reassemble everything. Especially when he had other customers needing attention.
He went about the motions of assembling his breakfast almost mechanically - cup and saucer from the cabinet, spoon from the drawer, teabag from the box on the counter, jam from the fridge, lukewarm toast from the toaster, and so on. It took him at least an hour to de-zombify in the morning, and until he did, he was pretty much on autopilot. Once, when his sister had come to visit, she had voiced her amazement at his not dropping anything. Well, it was more luck than skill. Pete plopped everything down on the kitchen table and hooked the leg of his chair with a paw, pulling it out enough for him to sit down. Almost as an afterthought the wolf looked down at the floor. Hie eyes scanned the tile and found nothing. Humph. His shadow must be off again, doing whatever it was that shadows did in their spare time... whatever. More tea and jam for him.
Other: Glasses. He needs them.
