Obviously, Durango has had this since he and Wanagi got married, but he kept it in his pouch in the beginning because they were always running about and adventuring. Then they had their little bundles of joy and he didn't want one of them choking on it or losing it at a park. Now that all his kids are older, he decided it was safe to ware freely again.

These are the tags of a very dear friend of his who gave his life to save his battalion.  Durango got the tags by special request, under very unique circumstances - it appeared that he was the only known living Bean that knew the marine personally; the army gave him full honors and Durry got his flag and tags at the funeral.
