Ash made it up the steps slipping every so often since he kept his eyes glued to the floor. A sigh of relief escaped him as he made it to the second floor. He followed Teilo's suit to the room but stood in the doorway like he needed an invite. He watched as Teilo came back from the beds to check the bathrooms. Ash let the door slowly close behind him with a soft thud. He waited for Teilo to go back to the beds before going into the bathroom himself, not to check for monsters but to check his own reflection.

The look in the mirror was not for the sake of being vain but to check if his eyes could tell him what was bothering him. He once heard eyes were the windows to one's soul. If that was true... his weren't telling him jack. Even as he searched up close. He backed away getting nowhere with his search. Frustrated he ran a hand through his hair. It's been a while since I've changed this. Maybe lavender would be a nice change. as the thought entered his mind the white locks between his fingers changed from their signature white to a light lavender. His smile was small, almost sad looking as he left the bathroom.

"Well with my skills you'd sleep like a baby on a bed of nails." a smile to try to hide the feelings of sadness and confusion that no doubt someone would find if they were to read into it. "Even if the snore was as quiet as a mouse?" he kept his playfulness as he plopped himself down on his bed. A breath of air escaped him as he made contact with the mattress. His fingers strummed against the bed nervously as he thought of what he wanted to say, how to say it.

"Teilo" the name came out hushed and thick as honey, the strumming got quicker. The need to keep his hands busy bubbled inside him. He pulled one of his silver earrings out twirling it before throwing his bag on the floor. Halfway through the twirl the earring elongated a bit becoming a dagger. Better "I- at the diner... and after I-" words were fumbling in his mind full coherent sentences getting turned into riddles no one could solve.

"Dammit" why was this so hard? Why couldn't he just come out and say something, say that some feeling inside him changed. That he wanted to help Teilo with whatever's going on now and in the future, to learn his favorite color, to know how he liked his coffee. Not just because he made it a point to remember his name or that he comforted him without another influencing his actions. What words could be used to express this? He stared at the ceiling as if the answers could be found in the braille like texture. The last time he felt these feelings was with E and look what happened with that. Furthermore was he truly moved on from Evander?

| Hank Walker
17 | He/him | Apollo [Head Counselor] | Dining pavilion (Table 7) | [Izzy], Finn

Hank ducked his head, feeling rather stupid. "Uh, yeah, that, I guess," He muttered, scratching at a sudden itch on the back of his neck. He shifted in his chair, scrounging for a way to spin it that made him part of the laughter rather than the object of it. He tried not to wither while his brain moved at a snail's pace. Finn meant nothing by it, just an observation. But it still stung. Hank knew he wasn't the brightest bulb. It would be impossible not to know. But knowing that everyone thought of him like some helpless fool? That cut deep.

He stared into Finn's discarded chicken as if trying to divine the future from it. But it gave him nothing. He swallowed, suddenly just as appetite-less. He pushed his plate forward to join it. This'll be a night for offerings.

He looked back at his brother with the reintroduction of Elfie. He dropped his hands to his lap, nodding slowly. "Sure, yeah, I can do that!" He'd be useful! "But don't..." How to phrase this nicely? "Don't start out with all the white coat stuff. And like, don't make her feel like a specimen," That wouldn't end well for anyone. It might be paranoia that made him tell Finn to not push the envelope, but Hank would rather be safe than sorry. After he didn't know the range of Elfie's powers, and sensing when she was being psychoanalyzed. He had seen weirder over the years.

15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares) | Hampton Inn -> Stairwell| Quest group, Mira

"That sucks!" She exclaimed bitterly. In an instant, she was back to brooding. Yeah, I'd say that too if I was the one with the powers, She fumed, knotting her arms and turning away from Mira. Her eyes landed on Aiden, who was currently babbling about someone's mother. She tilted her head, then narrowed her eyes at him.

"Wrong!" She roared down the hallway from her vantage with Mira by the stairwell. "My mom only has one sister, and her birthday sure as heck isn't in June!" Wait, what were we talking about? The redhead turned to Mira, puffing out her chest for the pat on that back that was sure to come her way. Her eyes went wide at the word that escaped Aiden's lips, and she waited for the older girl's reaction.

"I have no room preference, but maybe you should ask Aiden his opinion," Her voice was honeyed, and she batted her eyes at Mira. "I hear that he has some... strong things to say,"

    「 ʀɪʟᴇʏ ᴘᴀʟᴍᴇʀ 」
    16 | she/her | zeus | location: dining pavilion | tags: ophelia, aydan

riley waited impatiently, thought tried not to let it show, for ophelia's response. voices went in and out of her head, mostly her own thoughts but partly the gossip being thrown around the aphrodite table. with that, she was able to come up with an idea of what had happened. there's a quest going on, the demigod remembered, makes sense mira wouldn't be here. although she didn't take the head counselor for somebody who would want to go on a quest, it shocked but slightly amused her that ophelia would've been chosen to lead. "oh really? care to test that theory?" the daughter of aphrodite was really going for it, was she? that made riley hesitate for a moment, stuck between either preparing for a fight or backing away. which she wasn't a baby, yet at the same time she had been through one too many fights today. she ignored those thoughts and got ready to spit out some not so family-friendly words onto her face until a tall half-blood appeared from the dionysus table. a hand went on her shoulder. the audacity.

"everything alright over here?" riley tensed at the words, gritting her teeth. what do you think, moron? it didn't come as too much of a surprise that somebody was coming to ophelia's assistance, though it was strange that this stranger rather than her half-siblings (this only confirmed her theory of aphrodite kids being sponges - easily absorbing gossip and doing nothing else) would jump to help. of course, they don't seem to be strangers themselves, she noted when seeing his glance at her. that was fine. riley didn't need to be looked at to reply. "thanks for the lovely check-in, we're doing great," she rolled her eyes. "don't know how we'll be able to finish our.. passionate discussion," the demigod feigned a look of sadness while sighing, "when prince charming's coming to save the damsel in distress, y'know. and i don't judge, but leaving your poor little satyr sidekick behind?" riley gestured over to mr. d's table, specifically looking at chuck. "it's a rather odd plan you've got..." she trailed off. "sorry, i don't know your name, but i'm sure you know mine," she faked a smile. "after all, i tend to be pretty well-known around here."

Mirabelle Everhart
||17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Hampton Inn Lobby|Tags: Quest Group; Aggy, Aiden|Mentions: Skylar, Dahlia|

Mirabelle's eyes widened when Aiden fell victim to her charmspeak as well. Shoot. I forgot it can affect anyone listening. It seemed to have painted quite the image within him, unless... unless he was just going along with her ruse for the sake of the lie. But she knew Aiden - this wasn't acting. She stiffened at the physical contact, but gave a simple nod and a smile in response to his embellishment.

She felt Aiden's eyes on her before he spoke, though it had been more of a glance than anything. "Aiden! Language." The chiding almost came of it's own volition, almost before she comprehended why he'd swore in the first place. Oh - oh - She wanted to cuss herself when the realisation hit her like a ton of bricks. "Aiden, I'm - I'm sorry." Her head lowered ever so slightly; an unconscious act of remorse. "I should have warned all of you ahead of time. I forgot charmspeak can also affect bystanders if they're listening in." Guilt squirmed in her stomach, though she offered him an apologetic smile.

A surge of guilt crashed down upon her at Aggy's reaction, though she knew there was nothing she could do. "I'm sorry," she stated gently, though it did nothing to abate her roiling emotions. Then Aggy was shouting, and Mirabelle was jolted out of her feelings. The shouting, it seemed, was directed at Aiden. "Wha - Aggy - e-everybody just calm down!" She hadn't meant to raise her voice. She hadn't meant to say that. Telling people to calm down never works! Ugh, why am I so stupid? "Let's just take a breath and talk things out normally." Frustration bubbled inside her, no doubt brought on by how tired she suddenly felt in that moment. The charmspeak must've taken more out of me than I thought.

"Aggy, why don't we take toom 208?" she suggested, just barely managing to refrain from grinding her teeth together. Eight felt like a solid number. I don't really care. I just need a hot shower and maybe some sleep. If she could get to bed, that was. Sleep had never come easily to Mirabelle. Regardless, she hoped her change of topic would help diffuse the situation at hand. She didn't really wait for an answer before handing the last pair of keycards to Skylar and Dahlia - Aggy had said she was fine with whatever, after all. Though Mirabelle wasn't entirely sure that was true. The way she'd said it was suspicious, to say the least... she was trying to start something. Don't think you can manipulate me, little miss innocent. I've seen through far worse than the likes of you. Despite the pleasant look on her face, a muscle in Mirabelle's jaw twitched. All this yelling and charmspeaking is giving me a headache. Or, probably more accurately, making the one that had nagged at her all day have its triumphant return. "Let's head up to our room." Before this gets any more awkward.

Vivienne Isole
||18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Morgantown, PA|Tags: Kayle|

Apple... pie? Vivienne couldn't remember the last time she'd had pie. "That does sound... tempting," she admitted. Perhaps I will partake in some sustenance before I succumb to slumber. If she could stay awake that long - she'd been dozing off the whole car ride. Er, horse ride? Horsecar ride? Blinking, she cleared her muddled thoughts as Kayle chattered on about the ghosts. I do not think I could ever get used to seeing deceased strangers constantly. She couldn't help but feel like she was being watched, after that talk. The fine hairs on the back of her neck lifted from her skin as if pulled by an invisible force. Now, that is a familiar feeling. It had been almost odd without it, she realised. Sure, Orin and Astoria had been inside the church. But she never felt like she was being watched by an unseen force; not there. Her home on the mountain was a different story. Khione is always watching. I cannot afford to show weakness. No, not here. Khione wasn't watching her here... right? A shiver ran down her spine, completely unrelated to the fact that the air had dropped a few degrees around her.

Kayle's words about the temperatures pulled her from her turbulent thoughts. She frowned upon hearing that it was supposed to be hot. I despise the summer heat. She would probably have to cool the room using her abilities to keep herself comfortable. The thought of being a walking air conditioner crossed her mind. She would've found it funny if she had a sense of humour. Kayle was leading her to a bedroom now, or - wait, wrong door. That was the bathroom. At least she would know where to find that. The next door held more promise, and sure enough, voilà - guest room. Kayle set the bedding down and started moving some boxes. She is... remarkably strong. Vivienne had noticed her muscular physique before, but to see it in action was something else. There was a certain something in knowing that the person you were being forced to trust could likely beat the living crap out of you without batting an eye. Never let your guard down. Not for one second. She had already broken that rule once that day. Surely she wouldn't again.

━━━ 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬
[]17|she/her|Hades|Head Counsellor|Cabin Thirteen|tags: Orin

Her mind began to drift as the point was explained, pulling back memories she didn't really want to think about, reminders of things she'd wished she could undo. Her argument hadn't been very strong to begin with, of course the stories put on a screen mirrored real life, but she wasn’t really trying to prove him wrong—simply trying to grasp onto anything that would make it all easier to accept. But it never would be, and the repeated storyline of wanting to go back and redo things—of regretting letting things happen once you’ve seen the final outcome—was familiar. Shouting. A phone call. Barely managing to get her words out. No response. And then the end of her entire world. The memory might have been fresher in her mind after the conversation involving her uncle in the Underworld, but it was never usually far. The guilt always lingered.

“Yeah. Yeah, no, I get it,” she replied softly. She knew there was no ‘might’. She knew there were no possible outcomes where things turned out okay just because they hoped that they would. But despite the point he was making, it was difficult to shake off the desire to act like none of it mattered, the inherent desire for things to be easy.

Her frown deepened as he went on, idly chewing on her lip as she considered the thought. “It’s too late, anyways. I mean, he’s already exposed us and there’s nothing about a bunch of teenagers with inexplicable powers that anyone’s going to see as…normal. No one’s going to see us as good guys. No one's going to trust us. It’s already too late for that.” Maybe she was being cynical again, drawing on a deeply ingrained belief that there was something wrong about them, but it made sense in her head. She wasn’t sure if she cared what anyone thought. She would’ve said that she didn’t, but the idea of it—the memories that it triggered—still caused a twinge of guilt in her. “They probably already think that. And it’s...it’s like those elementary school anti-bullying things. ‘Being a bystander is being part of the problem’ and all that crap.” That had been a load of garbage, at least in her experience, but the sentiment was there, and she was starting to see the appeal in what he was saying, doubts managing to connect through the haze in her mind.

Auggie considered him for a moment. They’d had plenty of theoretical conversations, tangents that went nowhere and concepts that would never be anything more than words turning to mist in the air. Something about this felt different. Something about it felt real. She was strangely calm in the face of it, the sense of panic from earlier having numbed significantly. “Easier said than done,” she said simply upon the mention of Vivienne. “And that was different. Because we don’t actually know what she’s responsible for,” she pointed out. “She’s a ‘might’. She could be just as confused as the rest of us, getting wrapped up in things she doesn’t understand. Kingston’s the one who’s actually doing things and being obvious about it.” He smiled, but she could feel the sincerity hiding behind the sarcastic question and gave him a genuine answer in return. “You don’t have to prove anything to them.” She sounded mostly calm, but it was difficult to hide her anger at the reminder of the accusation, of all the things that had been said and done and kept from her, and everything it had lead to.

“It’d be a pretty nasty collection, if I’m being honest. Probably get people to avoid you altogether but,” they shrugged. “I dunno, maybe you want that.” They weren’t too threatened by the girl’s violent attitude, though they didn’t doubt she was entirely capable of removing a few fingers, they got the feeling she was all talk. At least until given a reason to start something, and so far they didn’t think they’d made too much of an enemy of her.

They raised their eyebrows at the threat, an amused look still on their face, still not taking much of the conversation seriously. “Noted.” They glanced towards the rowdy Hermes table, rocking back and forth on their feet restlessly. “You have any suspicions who your parent might be? You don’t seem as dense as the Ares kids, but you’ve definitely got the attitude for one.”

Jamie tuned back into the conversation at the front desk a beat too late, only catching the end of Aiden’s sentence. His face contorted in confusion, but he didn’t bother to ask what they were going on about, assuming it had something to do with the ruse that was being concocted to fool the receptionist. He chuckled at the nickname, shaking his head as he followed Aiden down the hall. It was certainly not the worst thing he’d been called.

The smile faded as they neared the elevator, the anxiety that hadn’t really faded rearing it’s head again at the sight of the sliding metal doors. He wasn’t exactly afraid of elevators, but he wasn’t a huge fan of a wobbly metal tomb that slid up and down precariously on a wire and regularly got stuck. His dad had always told him it wasn’t like that, that they didn’t get stuck often and it wasn’t something to worry about, but the tight feeling in his chest every time he had to use one didn’t seem to get the memo. Luckily, an argument broke out before the button was even pressed. He raised his eyebrows at the curse from Aiden, and they rose further at Aggy’s passionate response. He cast Mira a sympathetic look as she attempted to diffuse the situation, though he wasn’t sure how easily things could be diffused with Aggy unless you had some of Ash’s magic sand.

Jamie turned back to Aiden, giving him a quick nudge with his elbow. “Come on, elevators are slow. Everyone else’ll beat us up there. And also...I hate elevators,” he added before setting off towards the stairs, hopping up them at a pace contradictory to the weariness he’d felt in the van. Nervous energy was still energy, and after sitting for so long he just wanted to move. Even if he was only moving so he could flop down on a bed sooner.

| Ophelia Rogers
16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 |Dining pavilion |Aphrodite NPC's, Riley, Aydan

Ophelia's heart dropped at the approach of someone new, moreover, someone who mattered. In a blink, Aydan's hand was weighing down Riley's shoulder. No! Gods no! Is he unwell? Don't ground the Zeus kids unless you want sparks to fly, literally! She nodded quickly at question, wishing for the first time in a while that she'd been given the charmspeak gene. She forced herself to keep calm, not to succumb to the chaos imps in her mind. "Everything's fine," She lied through her teeth, taking a step closer to Riley in an attempt to get Aydan to take a hint and move off.

Her siblings, the ones that weren't actively plotting her demise, were wisely staying out of the matter, and she wished he would too. A brawn-over-brains Ares kid was one thing, but a self proclaimed 'princess' of demigods? Come on, I have a plan! This will work out!

She squinted at the blonde, face souring as she once again prattled on about Ophelia being a princess, with nothing but her pretty face to save herself. Riley was, just like her namesake, effectively riling Ophelia up, but it only got worse as she dragged in some poor satyr that Aydan had likely just met.

When she moved, she lunged, snatching Riley's hand and squeezing far harder than necessary. Something that her tone betrayed none of. "Why don't we finish our, ah, 'passionate discussion elsewhere?" Like the ice cold depths of the lake. Her heart rattled in her chest, but her main goal was getting the threat away from other potential targets.

| Aggy Clemson
15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares) | Hampton Inn | Mira, Aiden, Jamie

Aggy huffed. Clearly, her plan had failed, with Aiden only receiving a minor scolding before Mira's ire was turned back to her. Stop looking at me like that, he's the one you should be mad at! She rolled her eyes at Mira's sudden freak out, but took an exaggerated breath anyway, taking in air until her chest was as puffed up as a pidgeon's before releasing it in a quick surge. She watched Mira out the corner of her eye, hoping the obediance would help her earn back Mira's favor. The girl was cool and all, but why did she have to be so fickle when it came to Aggy? It was outrageous!

She held off from snatching her keycard from the taller girl's hands, but only by sheer force of will. She shifted her weight from foot to foot, hand on cutlass as she scanned for something to slash without getting caught. The over the top vase on a side table was a prime suspect, but too out in the open. Her shifted escaladed into outright rocking as she wondered about the shattering of it, how briskly her blade would knock it...

Luckily for the vase, Jamie had wandered over and chose then to speak up, ultimately killing her murdersome thoughts. "Oh? No they won't!" She hissed, more to herself than an actual response, and launched herself at the stairs, taking them as fast as her stubby legs allowed.

"well, they'll forget. mortals always do. it'll just kind of fade into obscurity after a while, if this is all they hear about it. but if it's not - if - if this stuff carries on, then that's when it becomes a problem. revelation becomes smear campaign becomes -" there were a lot of dire prospects that he didn't particularly want to raise. essentially, what he was getting at was a potential slaughter. in the camps, they were fish in a barrel. that was not to mention all of the people on the outside, those who had grown up and out of the safe borders, trying to navigate a planet on their own. orin's mind drifted to them in particular. they had allies outside. he did wonder why they never called upon them. the camps felt more like a mandatory conscription than a place of safety. "don't be a bystander, but don't make too many false moves, either. them's the rules."

it seemed that he had managed to get his point through. he didn't know whether or not he was pleased about that. of course, being right - that was something that felt good. proving something that he believed in, also good - but he wasn't sure he wanted to be right. didn't particularly yearn to believe in a set of ideals that were so entrenched in horrors "but we've sent out a group of crusaders to kill a 'might' instead of a definite. it's funny how that works, isn't it?" of course, the vivienne stuff had happened before - but that didn't reduce it, in his head. "no prophecy, no problem. kingston's not making us a bit chilly, so he can wait. forget about the guns on camp jupiter. that's their problem now." sarcasm at its fullest, picking apart the scenario. he knew he didn't have to prove anything. "yeah, but it'd be a kick in the teeth for them, wouldn't it? imagine they had to hail us as saviours. i think half the people at this camp would rather stick pins in their eyes than admit that i've done anything worth celebrating."

he turned fully then, lying on his side and facing her rather than the ceiling. "i think the scary part is that i know i could. i know i would. but i don't wanna ask permission. if i go to chiron, present it all to him, he's not gonna... it's gonna be the rules. but i mean it. if we wanted to, we could find him. he's in a hilton in the city. i know that. remember it from the conference. it'd just be finding his room number and punching him into paralysis. that's easy." he paused. "but it's too easy. there's gotta be something behind him. he must have some kinda - i don't know, a sponsor, or something. something that's giving him the information. that's what i wanna know." a short sigh. "still, there's time to think about that later. still got all of the - the return faff to get on with. honestly, i get why people don't make habits of returning from the dead. it's like coming out all over again, but more questioning, somehow."

i hampton inn, room 207

the first good sleep he'd had in a long time had been in the thanatos cabin. alone and quiet, the atmosphere of death's building so congruent with his existence that it had lulled him into a realm of dreamlessness and comfort. compared with the nights in the hermes cabin - oft interrupted, fitful and nerve-wracked - it had been a breath of fresh air. he'd had one good night's sleep, and now he was in a seedy hotel with nondescript stains on the walls and chips in the plaster, the thrum of other people underneath his feet. it felt like a lost opportunity. it would have been pleasant to have had the chance to get used to proper sleep. if ash was as good as inducing it as he promised, then it would be smooth sailing.

"let's hope," he raised his eyebrows. something was different about ash. sometimes, teilo was more blind than he would have liked to admit. a gun formed with fingers, a little mock 'bang' when the question of snoring came about. "i mean, it won't be my problem, it'll be yours. if i can't sleep, i shower. and i sing in the shower. proper loud, like. you'd think tom jones was having an impromptu gig. no one gets a good night's sleep if i don't." there was something wrong. maybe he was choosing to ignore it. safer, that way. if it went unsaid then it didn't exist.

of course, that didn't stick. he rose his head as his name, looked expectantly over at the anxiety-riddled son of hypnos, and felt something else settle on his chest. it was like watching the tide pull back before a tsunami. something coming. the dagger elongated - for a moment, his brain told him that the boy was actually, genuinely going to kill him. just reactionary, though. he didn't think that was what was happening here. "you changed your hair." there. that was figured out. as for the other problem - well, he wasn't seeing it. if he was, he wasn't understanding it. his mind went to the doors, his nauseous spell. "sorry. for what happened in there. i should've controlled myself a little better. it was poor form. it was just the moment, you know. is there -" did he know something about the doors? was that it? had he been hiding something? it didn't seem like it.

whatever it was, it appeared difficult. a solution, then. "turn around," came the brief order. "look at that wall, and i'll turn and look at this one, and then you're just talking to a wall, aren't you? you can pretend i'm not even here. just say whatever - whatever it is you need to say." to demonstrate, he turned to look at the wall opposite, away from ash, glancing over the textures. there was a window close by, a vision of snow like sieved flour drifting down on the car park outside. it was easier to fix the problem than to acknowledge what was coming next, so he looked at the snow, hand dipping into his pocket to retrieve the stone that was always dutifully present for times like these, flipping it around in his palm idly.

Aiden's nerves bristled when Mira called him out on his choice of words. He winced. "Sorry!" he shouted back, rubbing his nose on his sleeve. Immediately, he could hear the guilt infecting Mirabelle's tone, something he needed to remedy at once. "It's - fine!" the boy added quickly, changing gears and sprinting across the lobby to Mira's side, receiving a scolding from the receptionist in the process. He ignored it. "It's my fault, I should have warned you about that first." Aiden insisted. "I already know I'm pretty susceptible to charmspeak, it just... doesn't happen often enough for me to remember that it's a problem." As he'd mentioned before, it was a rare ability - one in a million, if he had to guess. Besides Mirabelle, he'd only met a select few other Aphrodite campers capable of it.

"You're fine, trust me. It was a lot worse when Victoria was your cabin's head." As much as he wanted to stay by and keep comforting Mirabelle on her unintentional slip-up, he was tired, and he was sure Jamie was tired too. Not to mention he'd left the poor guy in the dust, standing awkwardly by the elevator. "Talk tomorrow. Get some sleep you two." Aiden waved the girls farewell and rejoined (walked, this time) Jamie by the elevator. Aggy had wanted to start a fight, but Aiden wasn't gonna give her the satisfaction. Just as he'd pressed the button to call the elevator, Jamie spoke up to suggest the stairs. The son of Athena sighed audibly. "What is with you people and being afraid of elevators?" Aiden sounded more exasperated than anything else. "I've never even seen an elevator before and I'm not scared of the thing. But fine, whatever, let's take the stairs."

Room 204 was one of the first ones on the right, and Aiden stared between the keycard and locked door for a solid minute before he figured out how to open it. Figures. The room inside was spacious compared to the cramped, bunkbed-ed interiors of the Camp Half-Blood cabins. He dropped his duffle bag at the foot of the bed nearest to the door and patted the sheets, almost immediately enthralled with its texture. Aiden soon began using both hands. "Whoa..." he whispered, glancing at Jamie. "Are all of these beds so soft?"

Kayle's face cracked a grin when Vivienne started to open up to the idea of dinner. "He's not making that right now, but if you want some, I'll coin it to 'im. I'm sure he could have one ready in the morning. Fresh baked, maybe a bit of ice cream." All this talk of pie made Kayle's stomach start growling, thankfully not at a high volume. "He gets fresh stuff from the Amish market every Saturday. I'm smelling tomatoes and basil, so you can look forward to that if it suits your fancy." She got the feeling Vivienne had gone through a lot today; tears and blood overpowered everything else, but a bit of horsehair mentioned the presence of Xaliphax. She didn't think it was her place to pry into this girl about what had gone on, so she'd pester her brother about it later.

"There." Kayle dropped the last box off to the side, clapping her hands once and setting the soft stuffs on the bed. "All yours. The bed's comfy, I use it if I'm ever here. It just doesn't see much use otherwise since anybody else who's visiting is staying in his bed." She added, tossing a bit of shade. "Anyway, shower's next door if you want it. Say the word and I'll snatch you some towels, dinner will probably be ready by the time you're out." Kayle didn't seem to catch onto anything about Vivienne's inherent distrust besides her standoffish behavior, given that subtle expression changes were lost on her.

the cold air hitting her neck was an unfamiliar feeling, delilah shivered not quite used to her hair cut. wrapping her sweater around herself a bit tighter she walked quicker to the dining hall. her stomach ached from a mix of anxiety and hunger, the smell of food from the hall only intensified her stomach pain. sighing as she entered the warmth of the hall, she grabbed a plate. deciding on a nice salad and some pasta she glanced around the hall. she frowned, the hypnos table empty without ash. delilah couldn't help but wonder if the questors were okay, she pushed her worries to the back of her mind as she spotted cass sitting at the hermes table. walking over, she sat down "how are you cass?" she asked, wondering how she was feeling after the attack.

dahlia nodded to mira as she was handed her key, looking to skylar she sent her a small grin trying to come off as friendly. she headed quickly to her room, wanting to rid herself of the now ruined makeup on her face, looking at the room numbers as she walked '202...203....204...205!' she quickly inserted the key into the door, clicking as she unlocked the door she glanced around the room. it looked quite different compared to her cabin. plopping her stuff on a bed she sat down, sighing in relief as she enjoyed the soft bed. "I hope it's okay if I shower first." she spoke to skylar, grabbing clothes out of her bag she headed into the bathroom connected in their room.

"khione? why is she after us?" tulip asked, rather confused although it wasn't hard to believe the goddess would come after them again. tapping her hoof on the wood floor anxiously she felt sick to her stomach, attacks upon the camp always filled her to the brim with anxiety. "who is working with khione? elsa chick?" she questioned, not quite catching on to who juliet was referring to.

ramsay couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head at the thought of 'family' "I have no family, my mother resides in tartarus if you could believe that." she answered, glancing out the window she couldn't help but wonder what her mom was up to and why she hadn't contacted her. she felt relieved to be promised a shower, ramsay still felt wary of malcom. his promises to her were rather enticing, anything over being sent back to sunny center. "an apartment? I've never seen one of those." she looked out the window, the tall buildings and lights drew her in she couldn't help but grin with excitement. exiting the car, the fresh air filled her lungs "you talk fast." she laughed at malcom, although she found it a bit hard to keep up.

Aydan dismissed the girls snarky words he only interjected when she made the comment of Ophelia being a damsel in distress. He let out a cold laugh "She's no damsel in need of saving, she could hold her own. It's you I'm worried about, she could surely beat you. She isn't as weak as you seem to assume. Also, goat boy isn't my side kick. Hardly know him so leave him out of this." He raised an eyebrow at her arrogance. "Should I know who you are? Honestly haven't heard a peep about you." He looked at his nails as if they were more exciting than the conversation. If she wanted to play at arrogance he could too.

So far he wasn't liking her attitude and definitely didn't like how she addressed Ophelia and Chuck. No matter if her dad happened to be Zeus, why should he care? It probably seemed like he had a death wish, maybe a part of him did, but whatever Riley would do to him he didn't care. As long as she was no longer picking a fight with Ophelia.

"Phel" everything didn't look fine, that could be understood from a mile away. He backed up a bit as Ophelia rushed at Riley and grabbed the daughter of Zeus' wrist. "Well, as lovely as your guys' conversation looks I actually have something to talk to you about myself Ophelia." He shot a glance to Riley then the prying Aphrodite campers. "Alone" the words came out more hollow then he intended. He wasn't necessarily ready to have the conversation but it needed to be done and now was as good of a time as any.

Despite all of the hard emotions he was feeling Ash chuckled as Teilo shot him with his finger guns. "Maybe I'd like being woken up to you singing." he shrugged before turning onto his side getting a better look at the dark haired boy. Ash's eyes scanned the boy taking in the mess of dark haired that looked like it hadn't been brushed in days and the boys sharp features. He was charming in a minimal effort kinda way. Teilo really was a striking opposite of Ash right down to the way he dressed as if no one in the world was worth impressing. Ash smiled to himself momentarily forgetting the anxiety stirring.

"Oh yeah, thanks for noticing." a momentary pause "It needed a change, I've had my original color for too long." His free hand went backup to his hair playing with it. No doubt it'd become oily soon and the idea of the hot shower he had mentioned earlier came across his mind. Don't procrastinate "You like it?" he dropped his hand from his head suddenly finding a stray fuzz very interesting."N-Not what I'm talking about I'm afraid." now he was really going at it with twirling his dagger until he nicked himself. He shoved the finger to his lips for a moment then put the weapon on the night stand.

"Turn around?" Ash thought the solution was silly. If he couldn't tell Teilo while looking at the ceiling then how would saying it to the wall be any different. But, he couldn't think of a better solution to make this any easier. Well here goes nothing. he sat up and turned his back to Teilo. A few minutes that passed by like hours in the silence that hung between them before he cleared his throat.

"There's no easy way to say these things. I've never had the chance to say something like this.." A twist of hands as he chose his next words carefully. "Look," he began throwing caution to the wind "I want to know everything about you, from how you like your coffee down to your favorite color." a breath that felt heavy "I want to help you through your most scary moments. I want to comfort you now, tomorrow, and forever. Not like I did with Mira, I didn't comfort you the same way I comforted her. Seeing you hurt... hurt me too. With Mira I comforted her because yes, I was worried but I could have gone without going to her, I knew Delilah would have wanted me to comfort Mira. With you, I just did it. No one else's feelings influenced me. I just wanted to make your pain go away."

His heart felt as though it'd burst from his chest. Ash, for one of the few times in his life, fell completely silent. He stared at a large crack in the wall waiting for Teilo's next words while the sound of his heart pounding filled his ears.
