She saves Kili's life in the film. I died, I think you may like the pairing, but just because it's really sweet~~ Also, you agree with me on the liking of different ME race ships so you probably will.
I like her a lot, she's a really headstrong character, and she's really awesome.
I'm not quite sure how to explain her role but you should watch the film and see, when will you watch it do you think?

♥Legolas♥!!!
" In my shyness... At times I retreat into my 'shell',
Clinging to the security of being alone. In my shyness...
I may attempt to merge with my surroundings- to be ignored, unnoticed, a silent voice rarely heard. In my shyness... I can feel completely alone, although surrounded by people. In my shyness... I'm perceived as having a padlocked soul- and few try to gain entry to my realm. In my shyness... Few will dare venture to really know me- to hear my quiet voice or to really try to understand. In my shyness... I can have a myriad of words to say, yet, my sealed lips will not release them. In my shyness... The words I speak will at times be jumbled, and I'll feel worse for having spoken them. In my shyness... I will be viewed as 'stuck up' and unfriendly, labeled by the presumption of a troubled past. Yet, despite my shyness, I will at times emerge from my 'shell' , and you may catch a glimpse of who I am. And despite my shyness... I may put on a good 'front', disguising my innermost insecurities. Despite my shyness... A select few will manage to penetrate these 'walls', with the sharing of time and the evolving of trust. My shyness... Frequently unrecognized, seldom understood- A shackle, a heaven, a veil.

We went hiking and we saw this amazing place. It was a quarry and this person had built these amazing thrones, there is even a Middle Earth language written on one of them. My dad discovered it 15 years ago and whoever is building it is still working on it. The rocks are massive and they are perfectly balanced and do not move. It is on the edge of a view and it feels like you are king/queen of all you see. There are hobbit sized tables and chairs and a staircase. There are also elaborate staircases that lead up the thrones.

DANG THATS AWESOME

It irks me.

Gimli said that people believed there were no female dwarves but he then said that. They were impossible tell apart. From the males like greenleaf said. Tomlin himself said it wasn't true that female. Dwarves didn't exist but that they looked like the male dwarves making it impossible to tell male from female.

"It's true, you don't see many dwarf women. In fact, they're so alike in voice and appearance that they're often mistaken for dwarf men."
(Aragorn in the back) "It's the beards!"

Pfft, Gambledore. They talking about Harry Potter or Middle-earth?

I had somebody ask me if aragorn was from the dragon rider book series Eragon e.O and i'm like they aren't even spelled the same and middle earth's dragons died out a long time ago. Someone else said too "oh you mean the series with unicorns and the centaurs and lion" I corrected them and told thats cs lewis and thats the chronicles of narnia and they told me isn't that the same thing as the lord of the rings and I was like seriously no it's not the same thing. people get harry potter lord of the rings and narnia as well as eragon confused so often that it kind of irritates me that more people don't know that lord of the rings exists. like i mentioned elves and someone was like oh you mean the elve from harry potter and i was talking about good looking elves the ones from lotr and this girl was like oh you mean like dobby and i was like no dobby is harry potter and harry potter doesn't have very good looking elves. and she was like but dobby's an elf and he's good looking I wanted argue with her on it but i realized it was kind of pointless. I honestly don't like any other elves but JRR tolkien's elves they actually look good.

I just wanted to say that that particular line in the movie was one of my favorite and is the reason why in the lord of the rings online video game that dwarves are all male race but people do roleplay female dwarves on the rp servers because based on what gimli said in the movie dwarf women always dressed alike which is why often times dwarven women got mistaken for men hence as too why the other day i saw a person roleplaying a dwarf wearing dress that they claimed was female dwarf o.O so that proves my point that dwarf women exist they just look the same as the men.

Wait just a fluffing minute!! Do you mean to say that you play LotRO? And for that matter... Anyone else here play LotRO? xD

Goodness! That is so cool! Any chance that you could get a picture of them next time you hike over to them? c:

I am so sorry that you had to have a conversation like that. I can understand, a little bit, getting The Chronicles of Narnia and LotR mixed up since they were written long ago by two friends and members of The Inklings, but mixing it up Eragon and Harry Potter, I just cannot grasp that. Some people's ignorance amazes me...

I play LotRO every once in a while, especially if I'm grasping in desperation for any possible Middle-Earth inspiration I can find. It's quite the fun game, I must say! I especially love riding across the plains of Rohan... <3
My Hobbit OC, Peppermint, is loosely based off of a character I play on there; or at least, that's where the idea of her as a character originated. c:

I'm really unhappy how they changed the name for the last movie from 'There and Back Again' to 'The Battle of Five Armies'
I don't know, The Battle of Five Armies doesn't sound like a wonderful tale by Tolkien, just sounds like another Michael Bay movie :/
How could you change such a wonderful title? ;;
    Under construction (:

Idk about you all, but i was upset on how much cliffhangers they left us on. The river and barrel scene was really exciting and seeing Thranduil was a suprise since he wasn't really directly mentioned in the book. Tbh, Legolas was hot. I SHIP TAURIEL AND KILI SO HARD OMG ASLIHDIUGYNBREXYVBISJNBRD. But yea can't wait for the next Hobbit.

(sorry for jummping in so suddenly into the conversation it's just i needed something to talk about)

They did what now?! Welp! You can safely add one more thing to the list of why I absolutely despise what PJ has done with The Hobbit...

Welcome to the thread, BANDS! You say that they left a bunch of cliffhangers in the movies, but I must ask you one thing: How many cliffhangers can there really be in a movie based off a book that is almost 77 years old?
Thranduil was to be expected since, even though not explicitly mentioned in the book, he was named and told of in other pieces of Tolkien's works.
Orlando Bloom. 'Nuff said.
I really don't understand why people are so fascinated with the Tauriel and Kili shipping. The only reason it is even in the movie is because romantic sub-plots are, apparently, all the rage with people to the point where the movie would not have as many viewers if it were not included. It only attempts to draw attention away from the horrific things that PJ has done to The Hobbit. I just cannot understand it...

Yea all the mushy stuff was a little gross. :/ but they are an okay couple as long as they don't like kiss or stuff during serious battles. (that would ruin it)
