Themed collections

Sorry if this isn't allowed but I tried to find a topic like this and didn't find it.

Do you collect pets based on a specific theme? I've seen a couple of interesting themed collections but I'd like to know what yours is.

I don't have any right now, I'm trying to decide if I should make one to give myself some CS goals.

My oldest collection is called "Fire & Brimstone" It's pets with red or orange with some black in it. (Or otherwise dark coloring)

This is the pet that started it and these are some if the members:


I also collect skeleton pets.


I used to hoard rainbow pets but I gave that one up.
A recent goal is to get more raven themed items and pets.

Big fan of this thread idea! (: I actually just finished making up my wishlist so I can make "themed" hoards, where I don't collect a specific outcome of one pet, but several pets of a kind of look that fall under a theme. Will definitely keep updated here if this thread keeps up!

I love all of your collections! I totally understand the appeal of a raven theme, I love those too

I'm glad! I'm trying to decide which theme(s) to go for because I like the idea but I feel like my themes are kind of abstract or way too general. The closest I've come so far is "non-bats that look like bats"

I’m not 100% sure that this would count, but I have a “nest” collection of PPS eggs from several different species linearts! ^^ I’ve got dragon eggs, chameleon eggs, chicken eggs, and owl eggs.

I'd say this definitely counts and it's a really cool collection! I like how you decorate them, too! :O

I have an entire subsection of my groups dedicated to themed pets! It started as a way to keep my regular species groups' aesthetics tidy, and has since blossomed into something all its own. Currently, said subsection includes:

Sporthorses, which is the November 2011 horse litter plus Custom Made from the previous year. Dedicated to my memories of volunteering at the World Equestrian Games in 2018, which is why most are named after FEI disciplines.



Dragonwolves, which contains the Eastern dragon-themed butterfly wolves from CNY 2011-2013 in as aesthetically pleasing an arrangement as I could manage given the date constraints. ps artists pls make more i love these



Dance of the Hours, aka the day-night horse litter from Aug 2010. Their names are the Italian words for the time of day they represent, as a nod to the actual Danza delle ore orchestral suite.



Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a quintet of the most bizarre aliens from Summer Vacation 2016, aka "the one where CS went to space." Sure wish I'd been here for that!



Jurassic Park, where you'll find the dino store pet set from 2016. Like "Close Encounters" before it, JP is one of my very few mixed-species groups; my strict, borderline neurotic display aesthetics simply won't allow them outside of situations like these.



That's more or less all I have so far, but they've been so fun to put together (and so good for, again, ~group aesthetics~) that I may make more in the future! Dunno if this was necessarily what you had in mind, especially if you were thinking more along the lines of Shian's skelly- and raven-themed pet groups ^^ still, I hope it helps.
