To Many Hypocrites in the Trading World

Postby Lizbutt » Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:29 am

This is a thred to speak out minds about the hypocrites of ChickenSmoothie.

And so you all know, this is my opinion, mine. So please dont lecture me about how Im wrong. Please.

Have you ever seen a thread that’s all about giving people their dream pets and trying to stop the greed in CS, but when you try to trade with them they tell you no or something about that you have nothing they want and these people have far more of their share of rare and very rare pets? (Some even have 5 or 6 of the same rare or very rare pet)

Do you find it far that they talk about how we are being greedy our selves, not giving them the pet they wanted when they all ready have one themselves?

Or when your a newbie and ask for your one true dream pet, but you are given a lecture about how they were newbies once themselves and had to climb the ladder of the CS ranks and were never given a rare pet before, so why should they give one to you?

Dose anyone find this far? Because I do not, I’ve even suggested a trade to a few people, who are in these 'suppose to be finding dream pet for others' groups, offering a good number of rare pets and they tell me that I have nothing they want. Note: These people say what They want and not what the people Need.

Let's define hypocrisy first: Hypocrisy is the act of persistently pretending to hold beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that one does not actually hold. Hypocrisy is thus a kind of lie.
(taken from wikipedia)

And if those people say others should give away their pets for much less but don't do it themselves, although they say they believe it should be like that, they are in fact hypocrites.
And I think that's what SnuggleBunny meant.

Thank you, that is exactly what I meant

Another thing, I’m not complaining about trading, but the people who say something and do another.

Unfortunatley people aren't going to give out free pets that they themselves worked HARD to get. Evene if they have more than one they're not going to fork it over because it's a dream pet. Calling it a dream pet and sending a trade does not make it automatically accepted. People may do what they want with their pets, and if they don't see anything they want they can turn you down and it wouldn't be rude.

It's not hypocritical, it's just the game. You have to work hard to get the pets you want and rarely will someone give it to you for free. If they do it's not genereally when you ask. It's if they are feeling incredibly nice and give it to you. ;)

Even if you aren't trading for rares, I know what you mean. Some people won't trade something for a fair trade and then they say, that isn't a fair trade, I'm not going to accept that. And they edit it and make it unfair. It really stinks when you're trying to get wishlist pets of yours and you offer wishlist pet of theirs. Then they unbalance it and you don't get what you really want. I agree, some people can be hypocrites!!

I don't know that anyone actually -needs- pixels. You need food. You don't need a Joker or a Moonswirl. ;)

That said, I agree with wibeke. Helping people doesn't mean beggaring your collection to fulfill the desires of people who say (insert pet here) is their ultimate dream, achieve it, then have another ultimate dream, then another, then another... which I often see happening.

I think it's perfectly fine to want to at least get some decent trading fodder in return for a very rare older pet.. a lot of the time, those people take a significant loss in order to offer a kind trade. I'm happy to try to be kind to people who are polite, but I do still want something out of it, and I don't think that's unreasonable.

You can be kind without demolishing your entire collection, and it's a little harsh to expect people to just hand over things they had to work hard to get in return for not a single thing that would help them replenish the loss, or at least a few things on -their- wishlists too.

Well I need a jocker dog *cough cough*

I understand what you all mean, and I don’t mean to say for people to give everything away for free. I mean like what was said above. Some people try to take more from you then who originally suggested, or people who talk about giving away a pet or two in a thread and change all together over a trade of PM.

Thats all I ment.

I just have a problem when you DO send a fair trade, and then they change it saying it's unfair. I sent a good trade of my wishlist for their wishlist and they said that it was unfair. It wasn't though.

It's not hypocritical in my opinion. Having multipule rares doesn't make you greedy and why should they give them away for stuff they don't want?
