Adeira Foxtail {♀} .:&&:. Arakei {♂}

She threw herself onto center stage with such grace, it looked as though she should've been flying. She twirled and twirled, her innocent rose-pink eyes never settling upon one audience member for more than a split second. Her small, delicate paws glided across the stage, the spotlight following her every movement being the only thing that made you know she hadn't taken off on angelic wings; Her whole demeanor suggested she was heavenly.
The roses twined into her tail smelled of a sweet fragrance, much like her whole self. The beads around her neck flew about with her, clicking almost silently in her smooth movements. Her shimmering, violet bangs somehow remained in a perfect style, though it seemed so much more adequate for them to be messy. She moved so quickly she should be covered in sweat; Yet not even one tiny bead appeared, and her odor was far from unpleasant.
All-in-all, she was beautiful, her slim body so great and her entire being completely perfect. She was as fluid as a river, as graceful as a swan, as silent as the wings of an owl.
I was brought out of my trance-like state when the crowd errupted in applause. Dozens of lilacs and lillies were thrown onto the stage, piling up into a lovely bouquet. She tied them all together using a single red ribbon that I did not know the original wherabouts of. A beautiful, pure white smile broke onto her face as she took a bow, and the announcer came out to give a few words.
"That was our star dancer, Adeira Foxtail, with a lovely progression to go along with that wonderful snippet of Beethoven's original serenade, Moonlight Sonata. Wasn't she just amazing?"
Once again, the crowd smacked their hands together in thunderous applause, whoops and cheers and even a few bold, drunken - and quite rude, if I may say - whistles and howls mingling in.
Adeira took a second bow, the flowers clasped loosely in her magical paws. She then stepped off stage, and I noticed something; Not only did she dance with utter breathtaking talent, even the way she strode backstage showed some sort of intricate art, some sort of beauty that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Either way, she was just as great onstage as she was off.
And I felt the urge to meet her. To get to know the proud, confident woman I no-doubtedly knew she had to be, without the bright spotlight or the music or the hounding crowd. I was so immersed in my thoughts that I hadn't noticed the bartender speak.
"I said, what'll it be?"
"Oh, um... A Cosmopolitan, I suppose."
The bartender whipped up the drink and slid it towards me. I took a sip, and before I knew it, the martini glass was empty. I pulled off the lemon wedge, sucking on it - I had a taste for anything sour, and the fact that the lemon juice was quite rich in it's sour flavouring didn't bug me at all. I was about to order another one, when I met her eyes, and found myself standing, walking over to her. "I must say, that was a very interesting preformance, Miss Foxtail."
"Thank you." she replied in her beautiful breathy Russian accent. "And please, call me Adeira. You are?"
"Arakei. Pleasure to meet you, Adeira."
"Likewise, Arakei. How did you like the show?"
"I was absolutely captivated. But I bet you hear that from a lot of guys, right?"
Adeira laughed. "No, most of the time I get sexual comments about my appearance and drunken invitations to guys' houses."
I chuckled. "Not to be one of those guys, but you truly are stunning."
She blushed. I could barely tell due to her almost-identical fur color, but I did notice. "Why, thank you. If I may say, you're quite the handsome fellow yourself, Arakei."

"Do you have any other preformances? I'd love to attend."
Adeira nodded, her violet hair bobbing slightly as she did so. "I have another show tomorrow night in Turanyk."
"Turanyk... That's almost eighteen hours away, correct?"
"Correct."
I bit my lip. I couldn't possibly just ditch my work and my future family to see a show.
"I'd love for you to come." she murmured, running the tip of her claw over my silken pinkish-purple tie.
This wasn't right. I had a loving fiancé. We were going to get married, buy a house near the beach, have a son. Did I really want to risk that to see some stunning, magical dancer twirl about a lit stage in a sparkly outfit to beautiful music?
"I'll be there."
I should really think things through more before I speak.
Her full, glossy pink lips curled into a pearly smile. "Great! I can't wait to see you again."
"Adeira, we gotta get on the road now if we're gonna make it to Turanyk in enough time." a man who I assumed was her manager spoke, gesturing for her to come.
"One second, Mr. Tidir." Adeira took a pen out of her black jacket. She took my hand, and began writing a series of numbers in the dark blue ink. She finished and looked up at me. "I'll see you tomorrow, Arakei! Call me!" she said, before scurrying off out the door that Mr. Tidir held open for her.
I glanced at my hand, reading the number. It was entitled, 'Adeira's number'. The 'i' was dotted with a heart, and a quickly drawn - but still perfect - heart was drawn underneath, followed by the number. I assumed it was a cell number due to the starting. A smile overcame my face, blocking out the fact that I'd need something to tell my fiancé.
Marilyn crawled over to me in her satin pink nightgown. She put a paw to my bare chest, placing a kiss to my lips. "I can't wait for the wedding, dear."
"Neither can I." I smiled, taking her paw in mine. That was when her smile disappeared.
She brought the back of my paw up to my face, gesturing at the number. "What is this?" she questioned accusingly.
My smile slipped off my face. What to say, what to say? "A number?" bad reply.
"Who in the world is Adeira?"
"A friend from work." I lied, hoping I sounded convincing.
"Oh. Why do you have her number?"
"We're going on this business trip tomorrow. I'm meeting her in Turanyk. I have to leave real early, so I should get to sleep."
"But... that's seventeen hours away."
"Eighteen, actually."
Marilyn scowled. "When will you be back?"
I shrugged, rolling over to turn off my bedside lamp. "Two days or so."
"Or so?"
"Look, there's no reason to be so paranoid. There's nothing going on between Adeira and I."
"The hearts on your paw suggest different."
"I love you, Mari. I wouldn't cheat on you. I need to get to sleep." I pressed my lips to hers. "Love you, night."
She smiled in relief, reaching over to turn off her light. "Love you, too."

((Gotta go, I'll continue later.))

Into the streets, we're coming down
The two demons of death.
We never sleep, never get tired
We were locked on opposite sides of the earth
Through urban fields, and suburban life
so our power would never collide and create
Who's gonna save the world tonight?
the ultimate darkness
Who's going to bring you back to life?
but of course
We're gonna make it, you and I
our shackles had to break
We're gonna saveRUIN the world tonight

@Giggle: I love that one! If there was a favorite button, I'd attack it with clicks.
@Selcouth: Lovely as always.

Okay, don't hit me. I got bored as crap.

ImageImage

An empty building. Panicking pedestrians running away as fast as possible. A barrier set to block curious civilians. Firetrucks and police cars crowding right outside. Typical bomb scare scene.

A sleek black sports car slid smoothly next to the cheif's blasting sirens, recieving stares from workers. An equally unusual man among the rough faced city people emerged from a perfectly undented door. Josh Farry, a six foot even man with messy dark hair, an easy smile, and stunning orange eyes, was on of the bomb detectives on the scene.

His shaved jaw shifted slightly in thought before he walked over to a bald policeman who was busy writing down a report. "So what's the situation here? Another fake?" His voice was lazy, as if bored. This recieved an annoyed look.

"We don't know." Moving lightly, the older man placed his pad of paper on the hood of his car. Then his brown eyes trailed upwards, only to stop the unusually colored one's of the twenty eight year old. Despite this usual occurance, the unhappy tone continued. "Obviously. What, did they pass you to get rid of you in first grade?" With an eyeroll to break the gaze, the chief added a small, "You look for them, remember?"

The young man chuckled, walking towards the building. Over his shoulder he said, "Next time, take a picture. Then you can gaze at me all you want." A grunt was his response.

Arriving to the small group that had evacuated the building, he held tapped the shoulder what look like a long haired intern. "Excuse me miss, but do you mind directing me to the person I'll be working with this mission?" An awkward silence fell over the few people immediately. Obviously, the person was late. Great. Josh always has to pull the load. The girl, after a few moments, let out an annoyed breath before whipping around.

This revealed a small brunette, who's arrow straight hair fell to tense shoulders, with an extremely ticked look on her baby smooth face. Her too blue eye's seemed to pierce right through his bad boy look and punch him in the stomach. "That would be me, rookie. Name's Callie." With that, the young woman glared up at him.

Josh chuckled lightly, patting her on the head. She jerked away, not breaking the gaze. "I wouldn't be the rookie here. What are you? Thirty five? Forty? Cause you seem that old." Yes, he knew she wasn't that old. In fact, the woman was probably younger then him. But a lot of girls loved it. So he expected a giggle, a flirtacious answer, a nervous hair curl. Not a slap to the face. "Ow!"

A chorus of "Oohhh!"'s spread through the other men. Now, Josh was paying attention, hand over the stinging skin.

"Listen here, smart aleck. I'm not some cheap floozy from a low class bar, got it?" Callie was literally in his face, on tippy toes, with an extremely aggressive tone. "I am your boss from the now till we exit the building. And that means I have to babysit your stupid butt. So, you will not flirt with me. You will not try to touch me in anyway. You are to refer to me as 'Callie'. Not Baby, Girl, or Chick. Every answer better be "Yes Ma'am", or "No Ma'am."

Her eye's then became soft, and so did her voice. "I think even a brain dead lobster could follow that. So come on before you do anymore to embarrass yourself." With that, she walked off to the building and in the glass doors without a glance back."

A darker fireman let out a low whistle as the bomb detective watched in surprise.

"One word for that, hotshot. Daaaamn."

Farewell, everyone!

Aden carefully drifted across the kitchen, scrounging for a morsel to eat. Things were tough nowadays, but he knew he could get through it- ahem, they could get through it. His thoughts mildly flickered to Hanna, his housemate, and his eyes were forced shut. He murmured to himself about how this wasn't the time to think about her.

But his mind kept reeling; what if she didn't have anything to eat? Suddenly, his stomach churned, and he wasn't very hungry anymore. Aden shuffled around and closed the old, wooden cupboards while his thoughts flew away. It had been awhile since he'd heard anything from upstairs, as usually her feet clanked around as she cleaned and picked up their quarters. He was in charge of the downstairs, which was probably why he had started cleaning without a second thought.

Once again, his mind went wacky. Aden quickly collected himself before climbing up the stairs, one at a time.
What his eyes met was a pleasant surprise. She was cooped in a rocking chair, light eyes covered with her soft lids. A dusty blanket was slipped over her legs, and her hands were crossed over a hazy book. Aden's thoughts wandered to the fact that she had read every book in the house already, and that they didn't have a money for more. What could she be reading?

Aden clipped over and noticed a wet tear across her cheek; she had been crying. One of his slim fingers twisted a lock of her dark blonde hair as he picked the book up and set it on the nearby table. Aden's lanky arms swiped her up in a cradle position before he started towards her bedroom. Her eyes fluttered open, and she held his gaze just for a moment.

"Page forty four, Aden... Check it out." She said it so softly that he almost didn't catch it, but by the time he was about to speak again, Hanna was asleep. He set her gently in her cot, covered her with a blanket, and started back towards the book.

As he neared it, you could see it was so dusty that her fingerprints lingered across the top. Aden grabbed it and sat in the rocking chair, which was still warm from when Hanna was there. His eyes were already fogging up as he opened the book. Aden's head lowered as he finally, finally, finally found out what she had dug up.

The old photo album...

Once Aden had finally stopped the flow of tears, he opened the album and began flipping through the pages. The numbers were hand written, most likely by his now deceased mother, and his gaze was brought down again. Chin up, he thought meticulously. Edging on page thirty two, he dug his finger into the remaining distance and turned it up. Forty four, perfect.

There was one picture on page forty four, in the bottom left corner. It was the first one that they had taken together, the one that had sealed them together between pages of memories. His arms were shaking, his head was spinning, and his sobs were heaving as his face collapsed into his hands.
Why does this always happen when he can't find what he needs to say?

"Aden..." Hanna's voice was a clear velvet from the thickness of his cries. Her eyes were locked on his thick, deep brown hair and the cute way there was one frayed curl sticking atop from his head. "It's a little bittersweet, isn't it? But hey- Aden- meet my eyes, alright?"

He drew his face up to see her eyes puffy and red, but a smile was on her face. He climbed out of the rocking chair and headed towards her, crying, but a grin still sitting pretty across his face. Aden's hands were now cupped across her small jaw, and he swiped his thumbs gently across her face to rid the tears that sat. His silky maroon eyes sunk into hers with a soft declaration as he leaned in, and gave into his desire to kiss her.

Just found this new thread! <'3
I just read Wintercraft by Sienna Burtenshaw, and I must confess, it inspired me x ___ x Also I was listening to Shinedown while I wrote this, so the title is from one of their songs. It sounded fitting C: Enjoy this tiny little story. I have more to come for later! ;D

Axel {m} - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sienna {f}

"just like a crow chasing a butterfly~"
“What was your idea?!”

Sienna winced. She had been bracing herself for the unavoidable blast of anger from Axel for the whole afternoon already. She knew it would come the very moment he laid eyes on her, giving her no chance to resist or protest. She had been right.

The man carried on, his soulless eyes for once flashing angrily. “You thought you could save the battle, bravely jumping in as a fighting maiden who can enter the word of the dead! Do you not realize,” he crossed the room in wide strides, seizing Sienna’s wrists and slamming her roughly against the wall to force her to listen. A thin protest escaped her lips, but it was completely ignored by him. “Do you not see that it is you and that forsaken key of yours that they want?”

Dangerously close, he pinned her down with his lifeless stare and lowered his voice, still keeping a veiled threat beneath the feigned serenity. “Do you, Sienna Hunter, want to be the death of us all?”

Sienna was paralyzed, not as much by the man’s strong grip as by the icy feeling spreading across her chest. Axel could see her fear and his own face reflected in her aqua blue eyes, but then there was a sudden change. A faint blush crept onto her cheeks and he could tell she had just realized how scarce the inches parting them were.

It had just dawned on him, too.

Despite the slight embarrassment, the fear hadn’t left Sienna yet. What is he going to do? Barely a minute ago he had been mad at her like she had never seen him before. But now the rage showing in his features somehow faded slightly, and Sienna’s heart missed a beat. She knew what would happen. She couldn’t stop him.

Neither did she want to.

Axel sealed the distance parting them at once, pushing her against the stone wall as their lips met. Sienna felt as though her brain and all the basic guidelines she took for certain in life were melting through that kiss. It was strange, indeed. Axel had been her enemy, threatened her and held her prisoner. He had protected her and overall treated her well, still. Fate had brought them together as allies, and now Sienna wondered how much more was there in store for their seemingly unlikely bond.

A strand of raven hair fell on her face, mingling with her own hazel locks. After a long moment that felt like an entire eternity for both, they tore away from each other, both surprised and more than slightly embarrassed by this sudden twist of fate. Sienna kept her back against the wall to keep herself standing, still shaken up and trying to catch her breath.

“Well,” Axel stated, with unreadable lavender eyes that made him seem a mere observer analyzing the situation before him. “This certainly changes things very much.”

Sienna nodded, unable to utter a word.
