While I understand that anyone can make any list they like and no one has to follow it that does not mean that it won’t effect everyone’s trading. People can easily take advantage of the demand listed here as many of us have stated and force the demand up even higher as has been done in the past with the old list. There was a reason the community as a whole wanted the list gone. It held too much power. That one also didn’t have to be followed but the community was kind of forced to anyway because people called people “scammers” and “ninjas” if they didn’t. It was a mess so I don’t see why a community only had a voice asking to shut that one down and not any of the other lists that pop up? Shouldn’t the same standards apply if this really is supposed to be a guide for the community?

As for reflecting the current market price, you can easily find that by checking what people are trading their pets for in the FTT, how much is the pet worth thread, the good trade thread, auctions, and etc. but making a list sets things in stone. It makes it less of a person to person variation and more of hey this is what it has to be, anything lower is wrong. That’s what the old list did to trading.

Plus as many people have brought up, demand can fluctuate extremely quickly and sometimes overnight if people see a crazy good overpay trade. So will someone be updating the list immediately? What if the demand goes down in 2 days? Will that be fixed? I don’t feel like anyone could accurately stay on top of demand like that.

Plus who actually believes a Shima is worth a pet on the old list? Or that a dragon cat pps is worth a mainlist? Setting personal values like that in stone for an entire community to follow will make the already horrible trading economy even worse. Those pets will continue to have their demand inflated. This was a problem with the old list and will be a problem with this one.

demand should not be the main factor for a list. ever.

there are rare tags on the pets for a reason; we should use them and trade by them. having demand for groups of species, such as dog, cat, horse, etc, is totally fine. however, using the demand of each individual pet to make a list is dumb imo. the fact that a list is rising up that is potentially going to focus on demand is honestly alarming to me.

if this list is to become community used, i honestly 100% believe that rarity should be the first factor, and demand a sorting factor; nothing more. not necessarily counting every pet for rarity, but just seeing which pets are more commonly found, more commonly traded, etc. if demand is the main factor, i will not be supporting this list.

we already voted for the list to be gone once, most of which voting because of the demand issues. if this is to rise up with the demand being the main focus, it's just gonna be list drama volume 2. that's just my two cents.

Is this a new law we all have to follow?
Not at all! This is meant to be a guide to those who have taken a hiatus from trading and want to come back... Without being scammed! This list is something I wish I had when I was new to the site, as well as when I came back after being gone. Keep in mind that I am working on this project as a fan of the site, and someone who has the best interests of my fellow users in mind <3

The old List suffered from a lack of updates, what if that happens to this one?
I am going to on top of this as much as possible! I plan on coming back to check up on this thread and make the necessary changes daily. I'm also listening to everything you guys are saying! I understand that this is a scary change that many people don't want, but it is only a guide. It is not meant to change the CS economy in any way. It is only a reflection of it, to show what is currently going for how much. This is also why I am willingly leaving posting open, so that I can get your feedback if you see something in the wrong spot, or something you don't agree with.

Re-naming the thread
Whilst looking through all that I missed, I saw the idea of re-naming the thread come up. I think that it is a great idea, and will be considering alternate names for our list.

On another note...
The first part of the list will be up soon, starting with the Skelebun at the top and working our way down to around a Sorb's worth. Some pets will still be missing, but the skeleton will have been started at the very least! Look forward to that, and be ready to call out anything that is misplaced or needs revising. I'm excited to get this project up and running for real!

The old list didn’t only suffer from the lack of updates. It suffered from demand being included. I still would like to see a poll of who wants this list and who doesn’t since this is for the community. While you can say no one has to follow it, people said the same thing about the old list. Please read through the comments again as a lot of the major points that people brought up seem to have been ignored in your response^^

Also agreeing with never, a dragon cat pps valued at a mainlist is a scam in itself as that is fueled by pure greed and power

how about we don't move on with the list until the community has a vote?

we can't "start" anything when about 75% of this thread is opposed to the list. we saw what happened with the last one, and even if you don't mean for it to, it will become law. that is the mentality cs users have taken. while the desire for a list is reasonable, it needs to be rarity focused, not demand.

and in simple terms, A UR is worth more than a VR regardless of species. i don't care about demand. that's just simple logic. the rare tags weren't put on pets for accessory, they were put there to help with value.

please, you need to make a poll regarding the community's desire for this before we move any further. i'm not gonna sugar coat it, it's honestly really reckless to just jump in and think the community will accept it with open arms. we need a vote.

Another thing to bring up in terms of this list becoming law. All it takes is the people with all of the highest demanded pets to follow this list then EVERYONE who wants to trade for those pets is forced to use this whether they want to or not

how is the skelebun the most valuable pet on this site? i really don't think it is personally. also, if you want a fully functional list, you need EVERY single pet on there. this list WILL change the economy just as the last one did. it's going to be a lot of work and honestly might be too much to handle. but, it isn't my thread. put up a poll to see how many people actually want this. i think you might be surprised as to how many people remember the damage the last one did for the cs community and how they don't want another relapse of it.

personally i think starting a list centred around the demand of pets is a bad move. this idea of structuring it with demand is the exact reason the community decided to discontinue the last list. demand is a crazy thing, and if something is the 'highest in demand' then users will go to crazy lengths to aquire this pet - and being completely scammed.
what if this list does get made, and lets just say someone traded their rare for a ur pet - then the list falls and the person who got the rare pet can no longer get anything like it used to?
i think there needs to be a community vote on what happens with this ^^

Wasn't the old list retired and the goal was not to have it remade? History will be repeated, and will cause the whole thing all over again.

Highly agreeing with Mythz here. Demand was a major issue, and causing the trading economy to go downhill. Trading is for working with someone fairly, and for both parties to be happy with it. Demand is user-based, and not true rarity. Making a guide with using demand as the rarity will cause major disruption in the already fragile trading economy. The old rares list did just that, and this would repeat history.

Sorry if I'm a little blunt, but history should remain in the past; and we should learn from it. (In my book personally)
