A 2014 uc is worth about the same as a 2016 rare.

Well if you go by the uncommon + uncommon = rare "rule", it means that 2 2014 uncommons add up to a 2014 rare. A 2014 rare is worth roughly a 2012 uncommon. So 4 2014 uncommons add up to a 2012 rare. That is worth around a 2010 uncommon, so you would need 8 2014 uncommons to get a 2010 rare. Going on with this and you'd end up with around 7 2010 rares and 1 2014 uncommon or [2010 rare + 2010 uncommon = 2009 rare] (many people don't add rarities like that though) 4 2009 rares, one 2010 rare and the 2014 uncommon.

Each player adds rarities differently though so this is just the way that I personally value things. It will also be difficult to trade for older rares with newer uncommons as many people would rather trade up the list or use the pets as trade fodder, but I hope I gave you a rough idea of what it could get you with the right trading partner ^^

I was thinking the most with better rarity, rare wise.

Going with a 2014 uc = 2016 rare (2 commons = 1 uc, 4 uc = 1 rare)... [I went with 4 uc = 1 rare bc rares have more "demand" than uncommons]
then about a little more than a 2010 rare.
