This. It's getting too hard to trade and nothing is being done to relieve this. CS is TOO BIG.
There are TOO MANY pets on the site and it's very hard to handle with no structural site changes.

At any given point if I'm trying to trade with someone, I have thousands of pets to sort through on my end. Anywhere from 3,000 to well, this.

Then, if they don't lock NFT pets on their end, more many thousands of pets to sift through.
That's not even regarding the issue of people wanting 7+ years old uncommons for recent outcomes instead of fair swaps.

I've been disbanding my hoards over time. Slowly moving everything over to other games that do get regular updates and site changes that makes things easier for players. I've disbanded almost all of my hoards at this point.
I'm still collecting items and one of each pet but CS is not the large part of my life it once was.

Is anyone feeling the CS Spark Fade?

I honestly don't understand why people even quit completely. You're not required to interact with anyone or post in the forums. You can simply block private messages, lock all your groups, come here once a month (or during events) and collect your pets. All the trading stuff and whatever can be done another time too.

That's how I am, I've had phases where I wouldn't get on for a very long time (years even) but I have had fun in the past with friends and it'll always be a part of me.

As a side note and something someone else said, I would love if they could host more "mini-events" as I have seen on other websites. I know we got the summer vacation event coming up, but that still seems like forever away-especially during times like this because of this virus and I'm stuck at home. The time after the Easter event and before the Summer event is tedious to me at least, but I understand that the staff needs a break. I just wish we had a mini-token hunt or anything really. I remember before we had the summer vacation that the wait was awful for me until Halloween  so I am grateful we have the summer vacation event, but I just wish we had something else to make up for the time difference from Easter to Summer Vacation.

Now I feel like I have nothing to do since Easter is over. It's been pretty stagnant for me, that and I ran out of decent pets to trade so trading is not an option at the moment. I have started to do off-site trading and that's helped get me some 2009 rares as extras to build up my trade group, but I don't have anything too valuable on any other website to trade since I wasn't too active on them. Just glad that there have been some awesome people that have agreed to trade with me, especially with the Wajas community. So I just gotta wait until the spark comes back for me on here for events

For example, I got an OMGSR Zebra from December 2019 and got super low-balls constantly because it is low demand??? There is too much emphasis put on demand and I hate it. I finally managed to shift the thing, but not for as much as I would have liked (the person was super nice though, and wanted the Zebra as a pet, bot for profit, so I wasn't too bothered).

\ yea, if its NFT they why am I physically able to trade for it???
that defeats the purpose of putting NFT???

I think the organization aspect is one of the main reasons why I still like this game. It's pretty satisfying to get the last pet I need for a part of my collection and mark the group complete.

I think I have noticed an increased amount of people not following my rules. I used to have the rule "do not offer on items I only have one of" but about half the trades I got did just that, but I also didn't want to completely lock all of my items. So I actually decided to organize them onto my pets by date, similar to how my pets are organized.

I will admit that sometimes I have left passive aggressive cancel messages when my rules are broken, usually something like "Please read my rules, they clearly state so and so" (if I am getting the definition right), but I am working on being more polite.

Other than that, from my experience I'd say the community here is still pretty nice. I've gotten gift bombs from really nice people, and I haven't encountered someone being mad at me for cancelling trades in a long time.

I can definitely agree with the whole rules thing, people have complained about long rules, so I actually went and reorganised my rules and made it much simpler, the really important parts are both in bold and red. But people still seem to miss that?

I have resorted to just putting, "Please read the rules," when I cancel, if I do have an odd one or two I will send the trade back explaining that I am only trading double items, as pretty much all but like 8? of my pets are open for trading, I also noticed the nice feature that it shows how many items you have available that are not on a dress up, which makes me feel a little reassured that I won't be trading away an item I have on a pet.

I personally will read over the rules of the person if I am 100% sure of sending the trade because I will be going through like 10 pages of the same store pet on my WL to get to a pet that may be a VR common hoard pet.

honestly I've completely switched my focus in the past few months from trading/pet collecting to the oekaki/art side of the site, and I'm really enjoying the shift. I accomplished several dream pets all at once and decided to focus more on my art and such and it's been really fun. I understand that not everyone draws or has interest in it, but if you do it might be worth checking out some of the oekaki communities sprinkled around.

As a digital artist who used Paint Tool Sai and switched over to Clip Studio I can't use the Okeaki tools to save my own life, so I really envy the people that do, and I don't want to open up an art shop as it would be too much hassle, I might start making some adoptable to go with my business though and maybe auction off a few on here.

Honestly, I've been on CS for about 5 years now and I really agree. I made some really good friends on here back in 2015-(hiatuses in between)-2018 and then took a sort of hiatus, then come back and everything is different. No one is wanting to be kind, and I really can't even have conversations with people anymore.

possibly an unpopular opinion here, but i have always said that this site is what you decide to make of it. I myself will admit that i have backed off of trading the older more valuable stuff myself, now that i have (almost) everything that i would like to have from back in those old days, and rather i just set back and let the trades come to me usually, although i do get quite some doozies i have to say. xD

I find myself more invested in the monthly / event discussions and the art side of the site now (when im not stuck with art block that is, heh!)

If you choose to focus only on the bad, that will shape how you view the entire site in general, same can go for looking for the good in it as well and i honestly think we are doing ourselves a disservice for letting ourselves get so upset over some of the previously mentioned things. <3

Lmao I think the userbase is just getting older, and probably more people are growing out of it. I really think things are close to the same, but since a lot of players older they’re actually just realizing that “wow this is happening, but I guess I didn’t notice it earlier”. That and people are just growing out of the pet collecting game. That’s just how life happens, you can’t stay on something for 5-9 years without getting bored sooner or later.
