A bit of CS history I had the pleasure of running into but that didn't make the newsletter cut: it seems like the whole idea of trading pets, one of the quintessential features of the game these days, came from a user suggestion! Anyone who enjoys trading pets should go give Aeonian some love <3

Haha this was a trip down memory lane! I'd almost forgotten about some of this stuff despite having been there for, well, nearly all of it!

I've got a bit of CS merch sitting in my little chest of knickknacks that I received as a Christmas gift some years ago while being staff.




The top ones are all buttons, the bottom ones are fridge magnets except the sunjewel, which is a keychain.
(I'm afraid I no longer remember which designs were the ones I removed from these)
I also have all three sticker sheets somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember where I put them D:
I was always too scared to actually use them, the only one I ever removed off the sheets was one of the smoothies, which I stuck on the back of my nintendo switch lol
But it was sweet to receive them for Christmas. Letter also included a Whittaker's mini chocolate bar

I think we need a CS mall 2.0! I remember when it was up initially, but I was so young I couldn't take advantage of it. So many of us are grown up now and would take advantage of an opportunity like that!

i cannot vouch for this more ... when i made my initial cs iceberg video i mentioned that it was up until like 2015 and i REALLY wish they'd just put it back up again. i was extremely little when they removed it, and i'm an adult now.

Ya know, there is a suggestion thread asking for just that! Y'all might want to go show your support there c;

Btw, POSTAL, I can't find evidence that it was open beyond 2014? Is there something I missed?

How long does it usually take for site suggestions to be looked at? I see that post has been up for almost 2 years suggesting it but they’ve changed other things, like items, within a month of being suggested. I’m just curious as this would be something I’d be excited about!

I would love to see it make a comeback, I never got to buy anything from it as I was a kid and now I want a ton of CS Merch

It honestly varies wildly, probably depending on actionability. When we interviewed DaDwarf for the CSN, he mentioned that way back when he had talked to Tess and Nick about taking over fulfillment of the CS Mall from them, since they'd been packing and shipping everything themselves, but Tess and Nick declined, saying they wanted to keep things in-house. Not sure if that's still their stance, tbh. I guess only time will tell. By the way, if you wanna check it out, the CSN CS Mall issue has been one of my favorite issues we've published so far!

Hey! I just wanted to clarify an inaccuracy I noticed on the front page under CS Mall - the Sunback plushies were never actually for sale in the CS Mall. (Editing to add: It looks like that info was clarified later under the Sunback Plush entry!)

And that's how the adoptable Sunback plushie dog came to be! (News post here: news/news.php?pageStart=848)


I'm not sure how many real Sunback plushies are out there, but someone on the staff team at that time very kindly gifted theirs to me a few years ago. I have the same version as the one EmberWolf posted earlier in the thread, so I'm thinking the first picture was an original prototype and the version with tan legs was the second design, perhaps released as a small batch and shared amongst staff and close friends.
