Big Rarity Update - read for details!

@ Cry_like_a_wolf Why are you so upset that a pets rarity now matches its tag? Do you yourself want more OMGSRs but can't due to their sudden 'demand'? Because that's how it sounds.. ^^' And there is no outrageous demand, not like when the skelebun turned, I see people trying to trade their pets for what they're worth, as they deserve. There's nothing wrong with that.

And you're always at risk of getting unfair trades, even if you knew the exact numbers of pets in circulation you're still going to get unfair trades.

I don’t have any dream pets that I believe are omgsr, so no, my interest isn’t in getting an omgsr. I’m not “against” the update. I’m frustrated at the general difficulty trading will likely bring but it won’t impact me nearly as much as others. But what I say still stands regarding how the rarity tag acts as a “price point” and with them being edited, General demand for those pets will go up.
So no, my goal isn’t to complain about not getting an omgsr or not being able to get one. I have no need for one right now, maybe years from now if anything.

Okay so yeah I just read the last few posts... I'm kind of scared to post here now because it seems like people's opinion's are getting attacked, and I'm a very sensitive bean, but oh well ^^'

I honestly got both the good and the bad with this update. A few of my rares became VRs, and 4 uncommons rare. At the same time, though, I'm pretty much devoid of uncommons now...
I also dislike the fact that one of my rares is now VR, and that a VC is now common, mostly because the rarity bar just looked better with their overall designs as it was.
I'm happy with some rarity drops, though. Like RiverRipple, a sitting cat in my welcoming committee, dropped from common to VC. I really love how the new VC rarity bar looks!!~
Lastly, I dislike the fact that it's going to be hard for newer players, like myself, to get rarer pets. I've noticed that most of my pets are VC now, so even getting uncommons could be hard! When I was new, a lot of people said my pets 'weren't worth anything', so I felt like quitting for a bit. I know there are extremely kind users out there who gift, and others who wouldn't give an OMGSC. Please spread kindness! If you're new, send a trade, I'll gift you ;3

I really love this update, but I now have quite frankly, LESS than I had before. Almost all of my uncommons and commons turned to commons and very commons, and my 2011-2017 uncommons all turned into either commons or very commons. I am honestly a bit confused and mad because I was saving up. The only good thig is that 2 or my uncommons turned into rares.

Ai, I apologize as well. Neither me or Cry meant to come off as rude or start an argument. We just enjoy discussing our point of views. I’ve since pm’d them apologizing for my bad phrasing. I could have worded it better.

I wanted to write something. But I suspect I might get in trouble over it. So all I will say is I take pity to what has happened to the site. Had rarities been implemented more properly, all the problems associated with dercreaing and increasing rarity tags (more than once I might add) would have never happened. Unfortunately this will only benefit a few and hinder many.

Like it or not, store pets with the higher rarity will now be on a sacred pedestal (like the Skelebun. It's not even a popular pet but trades on hype alone). And pets lower than common will be junk. Sometimes I wonder why they even bother making anything lower than a common. But if any of the signs have anything to say about it, the administration is not very good at managing their site.

Maybe that is why I am finding myself less invested in the site lately. The staff doesn't care about making summer events good anymore. And many site problems still remain. I wish things were better.

Noooo, don’t be afraid to post and share your opinion. I’m really sorry for coming off strong. I just enjoy discussing my points of view. I didn’t mean to seem like I was attacking anyone. :”D

Me and Cry was actually discussing this over PM. I think it’s sort of inevitable for the wealth gap to increase. Someone who has been on the site for 10+ years is always going to have more rares than new players. Older pets are just going to get rarer and rarer. While December the 18th puts new older pets back in circulation it isn’t a magical fix. Maybe Tess can increase the amount of pets you get on that day to help even things out.

This update doesn’t really affect that though, that’s a whole seperate issue. The rarity tags are just reflecting the true scarcity of older pets compared to current pets.

I wouldn’t say commons and very commons are worthless though! There is so many pretty pets that aren’t rare worth trading for. Plus you can try trading new monthlies for C$ So you can get store pets. Store pets usually turn into rares/very rares.

woah,, i think saying the staff don't care anymore is a little strong?
the staff i am sure do try their hardest, wether the result is good or not, they still give it everything they got!
and,, though i've only been here for one summer event ((and i might be bias for this reason,,)) i still do think it was pretty good!! and for what i've heard from others,, the others were good as well!!
and for an example that the staff care,, just look at the latest halloween and christmas events!! they were absaloutely outstanding,, i adored them!!
edit;; and an addon,, i do think they manage this website fairly well for as many people that are on it!
people are excited for events, love the community, and the staff are great too!! i say they're doing well. uwu
