Re: Oekaki Moderator - CLOSING SOON

Postby Aura » Sat Sep 03, 2011 6:47 pm

What date did you register as a CS member?:
20th March 2009 (It's been two years and a bit more... and I've always been active!)
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
5193 including this post.
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
7 days a week, I only skip about one day every month at the very most.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?:
2-3 hours, sometimes more, especially on weekends. During the holidays I can be on for up to five hours, sometimes even more than that. If I was chosen as a moderator, then I would definitely spend even more time on CS.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them:
No, I haven't, sorry.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?:
Yes, but not very often, as I'm not familiar with Chibi Paint.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?:
Actually, about 30 minutes each day. It's interesting, and I love looking at other's creations (mostly admiring them for their wonderful art skills, haha). Often I scout the Oekaki board to search for artists I can commission for art. The abilities of CS members are always stunning me.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?:
I would like to be an oekaki moderator because I would love to help out, and also because I would love to become a staff member (it's been a dream of mine for a very long time). I also would like to help because I love art in general. I have been an active member of CS for a long time and I love this site very much, and I think I would greatly enjoy now putting my time on this site to use, and serving the other members of this site. Although I may not have any experience in moderating, I think I have a lot of familiarity with the site and I think that is to my advantage.
I am a fairly good judge of art although I myself am an amateur - I know what goes in Intermediate and what goes in Beginner. I can give critique while being kind at the same time. I despise art theft with a passion and also rudeness and bullying, and because I myself was bullied at one point in real life, I think I know how to handle it successfully. I can also be fairly strict and sharp if I need to be. I'll try my absolute best at being an Oekaki Moderator and will be as fair, respectful and diligent as I can.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required):
Well, I am a fast typer and surf the internet very well, and also I am mostly calm and collected when it comes to sticky situations. I am diplomatic and also greatly enjoy CS and have been an extremely active member for quite a long time, so I am very familiar with the users and the general atmosphere here. I can be patient and thoughtful. I also have quite a lot of time to waste. I have often been selected for leadership roles, and I think I can be organised, friendly and intelligent in this role. I speak fluent English and also know a bit of Mandarin Chinese.
My friends describe me as being organised, open-minded, and generally easy-going, but I certainly do not tolerate things that don't belong on CS.
I am not easily offended by the internet and I know what is PG-13. I myself am a teenager but I think I am mature and responsible for my age.

On Permanent Hiatus. Or, have quit. Pretty much. Might come back one day.
Have a nice day. I love you all.

What date did you register as a CS member?: Sat Aug 22, 2009 11:34 am
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 7429, this will be the 7430th post
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Everyday :)
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? During the week depending on how many assignments I'll spend anywhere from 2 to 4 hours... the weekends I'll be on the computer up to 7 hours or more
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them... No, sadly.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes, many times before, but not so often any more since I find Photoshop much easier to operate.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Hmm, depends, if I see a nice picture on the featured art on the home page I'll check the board out.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I would like to be a CS Oekaki so that I can seek out art copies, removing rude or unsightly art and locking spam threads. For awhile I have been applying for a position as a moderator so that I can actually seek out rule breaker though most are few and far between, but to those few I will seek them out and give out the right response needed for the deed of which they committed
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) I believe in equality and although I'm an underdog at my school I do try and help the people that need help, even if they don't accept it. I'll be honest here, I can be very stubborn and very emotional at times but I believe to some extent I would make a good moderator.

What date did you register as a CS member?: 3rd March 2011 11:13am (that's exactly 6 months ago!)
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply) 1530
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Everyday
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2-3 hours weekdays, 4 or more normally at weekends
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them No
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Often
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I think it would be good to do something that is actually helpful. I want to help to get rid of art theft, give tips to those who need it and move oekakis if they don't belong in a particular area. I love browsing the galleries, and would like to be able to help more. I want to make sure people don't break the CS rules, and keep the oekaki board clean and suitable for younger users.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) I am fast typer, I am generally open-minded and helpful.

Re: Oekaki Moderator - job applications now open!

Postby Darkcloud! » Sat Sep 03, 2011 7:52 pm

1. What date did you register as a CS member?: Wed Oct 27, 2010 3:24 pm
2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1482
3. How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 5-6, I usually have a day that I'm not able to get at all, due to HW.
4. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2 or 3, depending on homework levels.
5. Have you moderated on any other forums before? No, not on any 'forums' per say, but I do run/help run http://www.catsofclans.wikia.com.
6. Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes, I loved it~
7. Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes
8. Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I applied for general helper, and did not receive the position, so I was really excited when I saw that this position was open. It's a wish of mine to be able to serve and help out the CS community in this small way. I would like to a Oekaki Moderator because I believe that I can really help in this section of CS. I see quite a few threads that say 'Move me' or art that clearly should not be hidden away in the beginners, and I would love to be able to help out by moving them. I don't mind doing the same thing, i.e. moving topics, dealing with rude/immature people, over and over. In fact, I enjoy it routine. (and yes, I admit, I've stuck things in the wrong place too, haha.) Overall, I'd like this position because it is an enjoyable way to better serve my peers.
9. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) I have a good knowledge of photobucket/dA, etc, so finding/stopping art theft should be easy. I have run and been elected to the position of Vice-president in 8th grade, and I am currently a student senator for my freshman class. These jobs both require social skills and the ability to deal with troublemakers, as well as the general 'having a bad day' person. The people around me believed I had these skills, so I was elected.

What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply)
January 29, 2011 4:37 PM.
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
2968 posts.
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
Every day! I love it here.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Weekdays, 5-7 hours, and in the weekends i'm on around 12 hours, if nothing comes in the way. If it does, i'm on at least 7 hours anyway.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I did before, but they've all died down, and they're also quite small. None recently though.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes! And i'm planning on using it much more in the future! :3 Though my gallery isn't very big, i have about thirty unfinished drawings x3
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes. I love looking through it, and see what creations other people have made c: It's also something i like doing when i'm upset, or in a bad mood, because it always cheers me up.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
First of all, i love the oekaki. Browsing it, commenting, drawing, everything. The oekaki was also what brought me to digital art. I am very grateful for that, and would love bringing others to it as well. Having that as a job would be utterly fantastic! Second, i would love to help this wonderful, fun community to grow, i've been wanting that since i got hooked with chickensmoothie.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
I'm a patient person, and i love helping others. I know what belongs in intermidiate, and what belongs in beginner. I'd never use the moderating powers to hurt anybody, that would just be mean. I've never had any enemies at school, i'm too calm, and wouldn't want any either. I always end up trawling the oekaki forums, so it wouldn't be much of a difference from my daily rutine if i'm picked for the job, other than that i then officially can help. I know the CS rules quite well, and the copyright law as well, i guess this is good. I think of my grammar and spelling as quite good too, so i bet i'd be understood. Also, i just really want to help. Help this community grow, make friends... And all that in general.

Hope i'll make part of this wonderful team, and thank you for giving me the chance of applying~

1.What date did you register as a CS member?:
1st June 2010

2.How many posts have you made in the forum:
8080 posts

3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
7 days a week, so all week.

4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
If its a day off school or holiday, around 8 hours I hate to admitt. All my internet time I'm on CS. On a school day about 6 hours.

5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
Unfortunatly no, so this would be a great chance.

6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Many a time. I browse it every day.

7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes, and I have plenty of time to do so.

8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I have many reasons. I love oekaki. It was my first ever decent art programme. I used it every day to improve and I know everything about it. I can browse through all oekaki's and not just the ones on the first page. I know the rules well, from past experiance. I've learnt what is wrong and right. Even if I don't get picked I will always help out in the oekaki forums. I Just really want to help out in one way or anouther to CS after what its done to me, its made me a determined artist.
I know what belongs in what, and I have no problem in moving stuff for people. Its easy and can't harm you, I am patient and can wait. I would never even think of using my oekaki powers (lol) to harm anyones feelings.

9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position
I know what pictures go in which catogory, such as what goes in intermidiate and begginer. I don't just focus on one Catagory, I look at a variety of choices to. I really would love this position thankyou for concidering me, I can understand how hard it is to choose.

Postby Lasse + Sparrow » Sat Sep 03, 2011 11:49 pm

My friend and I joined accounts a few months ago, and we're both applying for this position (: So that if we both get chosen, we can be oekaki mods on this shared account. Her application is on Page 9 (:

1. What date did you register as a CS member?:

This account says November 2010, but due to the fact that this is a new account, that's not really accurate :P I really joined on around the 14th August, 2009, if memory serves me right (:

2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):

1250 (That's on this account. On my old account, it'd be somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 I'd say).

3. How many days a week do you usually visit CS?

Every day, almost without fail (of course, there will always be rare exceptions - if I'm on holidays (I'll usually have internet access there anyway) or at camp with no internet access etc.).

4. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?

Two hours minimum, but usually a lot more. On weekdays, when I have school, it'd be around 4, but at weekends, it would be more like 6-10 (:

5. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them

I have never moderated on any other forums, however I am a moderator on the 'Doctor Who Fan Club' here on Chicken Smoothie (:

6. Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?

Unfortunately, oekaki does not work on my laptop or my iPad, which are the things I usually go on CS on. However, it does work on my computer (which I don't often have access to - my brother is usually using it), so I would use it occasionally. However, I rarely publish work, because I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I will only post something if I think it's absolutely fantastic :L Also, I'm not the most skilled on the computer. I prefer a pencil personally, although with practice I think I could get the hang of it (:

7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?

I do! I love seeing all the artistic talent here. It's fantastic to see people's artistic skills develop, from basic drawings in the 'Beginner's Oekaki' board, to beautiful, detailed drawings in 'Intermediate Oekaki'. I have a real interest in art, I always have, and I love to spend time just looking and appreciating beautiful art. I particuarly love art of animals and scenery (which is good, because that's what most of the art on CS seems to be :L), but I love art of all kinds.

8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?

As I said in the previous question, I love art. I want to make sure that Oekaki is enjoyable for everyone. Chicken Smoothie is a big part of my life, and it has been since I first joined two years ago. I am well aware of both the Oekaki and the Art rules here, and feel that I would be able to identify cases of art theft, rule breaking, and also what topic (intermediate or beginner etc.) a piece of art should be in, and would be able to move it where appropriate (: Oekaki, and Chicken Smoothie in general, is a friendly, fun and safe place for everyone, and I want to ensure it stays that way!

9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?

I do know quite a lot about art - I've visited lots of galleries, and have done research on some famous artists for school projects etc., and I hope to do art for GCSE (major exams in the UK (: ). I speak basic French and Spanish - enough to communicate anyway!
I am patient and understanding, although I can be firm when necessary. I never take sides in an arguement, no matter what my personal opinion is, and I often sort out arguements between my friends. I would be able to take being yelled at, and in the unlikely event that such a thing would happen, I'd be able to keep my temper and be reasonable.

Thanks for reading, all I can do now is wait and hope I guess! (: Good luck to everyone!
