We need your feedback on an update to the rarity system!

If I remember correctly, they can't implement a rarity system with items due to something in how they are coded, this was a few years ago though, so I am not sure if anything has changed

I'm not talking about rarity for items, I'm talking about making 2 group category system for items, to where users can select and send items over to the one category group to where no one at all can offer on them and they are set to private so we don't worry about accidently trading them off, for either normal trades, free give-aways-quitting.

Then have another category group to send items over for them to be available for trade with trade setting to choose from, like how it is now with "anyone can offer" or "Trade for WL pets only", "Trade for WL items only", "Trade for both pets and items on Wl only" settings.

So that way, item trades can be auto cancelled like pets, so that way it's easier for those that are quitting/doing give-aways especially, so that way things can be done faster and perhaps more fair.

This also could help have users feel more comfortable with trading and get the circulation moving better for item trades.

i really enjoy the idea of +1 new category.
we already have very common and very rare, very uncommon seems like a good idea.
this would be a lot less work, and they can always add more categories later if the "economy" on here is still in shambles.

once 4 categories are added though, you can't take them away, especially if people spend money on certain pets with rarities like "extremely rare" for example.

like they say, you can always cut your hair shorter but you once it's cut you can't turn back.

I'm thinking about the C$ pricing and having to squish another super common rarity in there will probably make common and up way more expensive, if that makes sense?? I'm trying to come up with a table where the omg so rare pets won't end up costing an absurd amount of USD

ok so i redid the C$ price table and it actually works out pretty nice!?

As you can see i was able to even out the rarities value scaling to 2x the previous rarity for all tiers which makes it fairer and the price didn't increase by much!!!

So i'm all for 4 new categories now, hehe
I'm just still worried about the group organizing factor ;u;

imo four more categories would overcomplicate trading and make pricing and organization an absolute nightmare. Making the correct calculations can already be tricky enough. However, I'm not entirely against the addition of 'very uncommon'. Like maidenbat said, it would make sense since we already have vc and vr. I'll have to go with Option 2.

What about just having 2 different uncommon labels, but adding the others? I’m not really sure why both very uncommon and extremely uncommon would be needed

i think 4 new categories makes sense to clear up the value of pets

as it is now, it can be very difficult to trade uncommons up to rares, even if you follow the generally accepted trade math for rarity and year because some pets are not valued the same as others (even if they are labeled as the same rarity.) if the rarity system is more specific, that makes it so the jump in value between each category is more accurate and less dramatic than the current jump. anyone who has tried to trade for a very rare with rares or lower would know that no math can ever help you predict what that very rare is actually worth and it can be extremely difficult to trade up when it gets past uncommon to common

As a player who struggles greatly to get valued pets the final option seems the best, that and the second one with the one new label. I'd love to see a way to implement the notched rarity bars as well. This change, when will we be expecting it to go through?
