Community opinion needed! UR Items, yay? or nah!

Re-release of items is a grand idea. I got excited about the cakes! What also needs to be done and hammered in rather firmly is... the value of re-released pets are the SAME VALUE as those released on their own year. It really is quite unhelpful to others when people think true date is worth more. Folks... they aren't and never have been worth more than RR pets.

i really liked them !! having a chance to get older and / or valuable items as someone who doesn't know much of anything about item value for things like trading and the lost and found was very fun :3 i also think i would have more interest in the ur items this year assuming they'll be more unique and interesting than last year ^-^

I think UR items would be fun, but only if items get their own rarity tags like the pets do.

I personally think some people would get taken advantage of for not knowing item rarities, especially people who don't collect items like they do the pets.

People (like me) trade items for pets all the time, especially because my focus is on pets. But, if I were to find out I traded a UR item for an extremely common pet, I think I'd feel pretty upset haha. I could have put that item to better use to get a better, more equal, pet. The thing is, it's hard for me to keep up with what items are rare or not, especially without rarity tags. Honestly, I don't even know how I would figure that out myself. My first thought would be to search the forums for a post listing the most rare items, and even then, obviously not every item is going to be on these forums.

items are already impossible to trade. even if i got a UR item what would i do with it? very few people want items, and even less want to trade their pets for items.

I think it's interesting that the conversation is hyper-focused on whether or not items can be traded or it's hard to determine their value. I feel like as with any item, they are fun to collect, and this is just another version of getting new items to collect. Not a ton of people try to get full collections of pets/items, so, with however many get released it would be a fun new thing that's interesting to collect for said collectors. I can see why people want rarity tags on items, but the game's only purpose isn't just for trading. Trading has always been weird and inconsistent anyway. So I don't see why rarity tags would help anyway. I like the idea of UR items. Just more items to collect!

Totally agree. This site is on the older side and I think any chance to get something fresh to keep it going is welcome! Restricting that just because some users don't like items and they might not be personally tradable to others, it might make it harder to get a full collection on the other end, or might be scammed away doesn't seem fair. These are all issues that affect certain rarer pets too, but that doesn't mean we should stop making them. I personally think the challenge is what makes it fun and I just enjoy getting new things (:

I’m returning to CS- I only played for about a week in 2021 before abandoning the game and just came back in October- so I still feel VERY new to the site. I’m struggling to get items as no one seems to want to trade them for C$- but I’m new enough that I have no items or pets worth trading (or don’t have duplicates of the good pets). Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask about that on- my PMs are always open if an explanation would clog this forum too much

I would suggest sending in a help ticket or posting in the help board to ask for advice for things like this as this isn't really the right place to be discussing it. To answer your first question though, 'ninja trading' is typically understood to be when someone purposefully sends an unfair trade offering much less than the pet/item they are asking for is typically valued at, hoping the other person will accept without realizing how unfair the offer is.
