I'm not sure if it will help but I have this trade from Dec. 29, 2010

If I had to guess I'd say I offered 2 rare for a vr, since that rat I offered was rare at the time. But idk when the pps lion changed?? Back then, a LOT people had the 2 r=vr thing a lot in their trades (and I joined in 2010, so I was still pretty new) so I would have probably followed their rules.
I know it's not EXACT, but I can tell you, back then if I saw that rarity chart in people's rules, I tended to follow it cause I didn't know better. :oops:

There is such limited information on that rat, so everything helps! I'm fairly certain it changed between Dec '10 and May-ish '11 judging by the other September rats, so this will help back up any other data found, thank you ^^

Bottlenose Dolphin Rat:
couldn't find much on this little guy but this post seems to be the first time it's described as rare. (June 2010)

First mention of the Nick Cake Dog being rare was in March 2010. That thread also holds a couple other pets you might want to check for changes (eg. one of the black & white Jan 09 rats was already rare...)

Grey Mini Husky was uncommon in Feb 2010, so I assume that would have been it's first rarity. The earliest post that declares it as rare is in May 2010 (That post also has a couple other pets to check).

I couldn't find any mentiones for the White Santa Cat as being uncommon, but it was definitely rare in Feb 2010. Found a post for the Tabby Cat, it was rare in Feb 2010, so I think that matches pretty well.

And I've searched far and wide for the Rudolph rat aka. red nose/ rudolph / reindeer and couldn't find an earlier post than the December one.

@Asvoria - I have a feeling that second post may be talking about the February 09 light grey husky, not the advent. I'm fairly confident that lil guy would've been rare by January 2010. And with the Rudolph rat, based on the Santa & Elf Rats I suspect it was rare from the beginning as well. But I'll leave it on the list just in case anyone can find an earlier mention of it being uncommon.

Just a quick update, I've added every pet that is currently VR to the guide with their supposed rarity changes (please take fluctuations without links with a grain of salt, they haven't been confirmed). And I'm currently reading through the entirety of this thread to see if that can fill in any gaps, as a lot of changes are posted with pictures rather than a pet's name/description. Asvoria is in the process of searching any mentions of "uncommon" from October 2009 onward, which has also been filling in a lot of gaps.
So anyone who's willing to help, if you could pick a pet from the list and find out any information especially from October/November 2009 that would be a huge help. These pets are the remaining mysteries, so they're tricky to find and even one pet ticked off makes my heart happy and my head hurt less c:

Since rarity tags weren't introduced until October 2009, any pets referred to as rare/uncommon before then are likely following these old guides which assigned pets a "rarity" based on how they compared to other outcomes in their own litters. So unfortunately, we can't use that data here (which is a big reason original rarities are so hard to find for 09 pets). But thank you for looking, I appreciate it <3

Yep, and preferably before the end of December 2009 as there was a big rarity change that month that saw a lot of originally uncommon pets turning rare.
