Unfortunately, due to an increase in irl work responsibilities, I doubt I'd be able to meet the 1 adopt per week quota and therefore will not be completing my entries within the forseeable future

Your Schedule: I am employed but have a lot of downtime during work, which means I'll be able to make at least one Strider a week. I'm also currently an archivist for GS, but I'm confident that I can handle both positions. If something does come up, I'm responsible enough to let fellow staff know.
Why do you think you would be good for this position?: Like I said earlier, I currently hold a position as one of the GS archivists, which means I'm already familiar with some of the behind-the-scenes work required for GS. I'm also super passionate about the species, being an active member of the Discord. I've extensive visual arts experience, a drawing tablet, and a mind that likes to get hung up on the aesthetics of random things (which slots in very well with GS's broad categories for possible markings).

Inspiration/Creative Process: I've a bunch of maple trees outside my window that are currently a gorgeous range of colours. I noticed one of them has these large black spots on many of their leaves, and I thought it made for a very cool look. A bit of research revealed they're a minor fungal infection, called Tar Spot Disease, that only affects the appearance of the leaves without harming the tree itself. Since GS's have the flexible Very Rare category, I thought I'd give turning it into a GS a go.
Leaves don't change colour uniformly; they usually start from the edges or whatever parts are closest to the sun. So, I did my best to capture that gradient. I thought it'd be fun to have some of the feathers interacting with the Tar Spots, and I referenced piebald birds for the pattern. My pen pressure died when I started the feathers, so it's a bit on the simple side, but being able to make something with a mouse is a good skill to test. The dapples are in the tar spots because I thought it'd be neat.
