Welcome to the Genesis Artist & Staff Search!
In preparation of our launch in May, we wanted to open staff applications to bolster each role, to ensure no one feels stressed or overwhelmed at launch! Every position is open, and you are more than welcome to apply for more than one role!

Genesis is a Warrior Cat ARPG centered around development and creative freedom. You can have rainbow cats with 0 need for an edit item, this is meant to be a fun community purely dedicated to loving your cats! Character growth, lore, and worldbuilding will be heavily encouraged via level up rewards and long-term challenges you can complete at your own pace.

The timezone question on each form is just so when we know to contact you if we hire you! Don't feel like your time zone will hinder you at all.

We MUST be able to search for this information easily. This includes changing the size of the text, using list columns, and removing/modifying the title of your post.

Artist Search Guidelines
1. Your entries may have unlimited common and below edits only.
2. You must make at least 2 entries to be considered. Quality over quantity.
3. Do NOT make a cover for your entries - just post each one individually!
4. Reference the Edits List when creating entries!
5. Do not remove the fake sign.
6. Going forward, entries for the current month will close on the 25th of that month,
at which point any entries will count for the next month.

Prior to applying for ANY of the roles, please read the expectations for each role outlined in the post below this.
Genesis is heavily prioritizing punctuality within its staff - please note that we are especially interested in people with a history of good time management and who can follow a timeline. We want our community to be happy and never left hanging. Thank you!

ARCHIVISTS
Responsible for tracking who owns which cats, tracking storages, archiving challenges + their rewards, and documenting level ups + their rewards.

GENERAL STAFF RULES:

• These rules might seem intimidating or strict at first glance - however, we promise that as long as you communicate and admit that you need help before it gets to a point where our community members are upset, you are just fine.
  
• Staff are expected to be polite to all members, regardless of personal feelings.
  
• Being in the Discord is appreciated, but not required.
• Staff should always communicate if they need help with a backlog of work - communication is key!
• All staff, regardless of position, receive 1 personal common custom/MYO OR 1 personal nursery batch per month of activity [litters are rolled for by another member of staff].
  
  In the event you have overdue work due, you cannot redeem your monthly PB or Custom. You must also redeem your custom/MYO or personal batch prior to the end of the month; these do not rollover into the next month.
• Please try to avoid taking on work that you do not have time for!
• If we do not hear from you for 30 days, you will be suspended from staff (with the possibility of returning). If we do not hear from you 30 days after your suspension, you will be removed from staff and not allowed back. Just a simple message explaining that you're busy currently will more than suffice - life comes first! If you need a break as well, please don't hesitate to say so. We understand.
• NEW [10/24/25]: Staff members are not allowed to discuss things that have happened in Staff-exclusive chats with people that are not staff. This includes screenshots of staff chats, discussing future plans, and anything else within Staff-exclusive channels. Staff members caught violating this rule may face removal from the team.

ARTISTS:

• Artists are given a 1-uncommon trait MYO upon hire.
  
• Artists are expected to complete all work within 30 days of claiming. This includes starters, customs, breedings, runner ups, and judging competitions. Let a moderator or owner know if you cannot complete something, preferably before it's overdue.
  
• Artists may take on customs for compensation each month. Artists may decide their own rates, but must start at a baseline of 30 C$ or pet equivalent.
  
  Whenever an artist opens customs, they are expected to take at least 1 free one.
• Artists can issue everyone in a competition runner ups. HOWEVER, they are banned from posting any other cats [with the exception of previously accepted work] until those runner ups are completed.
• Artists may not issue cat runner ups if they have overdue work. They can, however, issue runner ups in the form of MYOs matching the rarity of the original cat.
• Whenever an artist accepts a nursery litter, they must complete the growths prior to posting the kits.

WRITERS:

• Writers are given a Common MYO upon hire.
  
• Writers will be given tasks whenever the moderator or owner needs something done - this includes writing for events, creating forms, drafting announcements for the community, and designing new challenges.
  
• Writers activity is unpredictable and based on need. As such, writers are granted staff activity points per item that they write. Word count is factored in.

GUEST ARTISTS:

• Guest artists are given a Common MYO upon hire.
  
• Guest artists are given 1 month terms to post adopts and claim starters in.
  
• All cats must be approved by a permanent staff member, to ensure the edit list is accurate.
• Even after a term ends, Guest Artists are responsible for growing any kits and judging any competitions that are pending. You should not take on more than you can finish within a month of acceptance. Once a guest artist's term ends, they should add one of the owners [Dimi. or Adamented] to the canvas of litters, just in case the guest artist forgets to grow them in the future.
• Guest artists are prohibited from giving cat runner ups for competitions period. You can, however, give out honorable mentions in the form of Seeds. The amount depends on the competition, with 5 seeds as a baseline.

MODERATORS:

• Moderators are given an 1-uncommon trait MYO upon hire.
  
• Moderators are responsible for looking at all threads related to the ARPG, and answering any questions that pop up.
  
• Moderators may be asked to carry out tasks of other roles in the event a staff member needs help.
• Chat levels will vary across all platforms - as such, moderators will receive a flat rate of activity points per week of activity [answering at least 1 question, making 1 post on the fan club, etc]. This can be increased if a certain week was particularly busy, but never decreased.
• Moderators are expected to address concerns without bias.
  
  In the event a conflict includes your friend, please do not contribute to a conversation if you know you may be biased. Do not pass on private information to your friends either.

ARCHIVISTS:

• Archivists are given a 1-uncommon trait MYO upon hire.
  
• Archivists are responsible for tracking clans, levels, who owns which cats, and reminding artists to judge competitions if they exceed 1 month.
  
• Archivists are also expected to remind all staff members when they have overdue work coming up, and tracking who is currently working on what.
• Archivists are given a flat rate of activity points per week of activity.
• Archivists are expected to update the archive in a timely manner. In the event an archivist is unable to update the archive, they should let another archivist or the owners know, so that it may be taken over.

NOTE: Any coat color and pattern is allowed! You may also redraw things as needed.

Fur edits do not have any limitations/rarities. As long as you keep the base line art recognizable, make your cats as fluffy or naked as you wish. No Rarity edits can be applied and removed without an item.

NEW [08/01/25]: Genesis is now open to hiring Artists for Off Oekaki Cats!
Please read the rules below before making any off-Oekaki Entries, they will provide all the details you need.

1. Please host all your entries under one cover. Your cover must have a drawing of some sort on it, and show the month your entries are for. For example, a doodle with "August Entries" is fine.

Please do not post your cover until you have already made 2 entries minimum! This is to prevent cover spamming with no entries beneath them. Please ensure your cover is abiding by Oekaki's Cover Rules.

2. Please make a new cover for each month you tryout in - this is to ensure we don't miss any new entries.

3. Do not use Discord to host your images. These often break within the hour. Please instead use something like IMGUR, FileGarden, or CS's Attachment feature. Any site where you can upload an image with a low chance of it breaking.

4. All the Artist Search Rules for On Oekaki entries also apply to you.

5. Do not use patterns or pattern brushes not created by yourself, imported images, or AI in your entries. These are things that Oekaki does not have access to, and thus unfair. We want everything you create to be made by you.

6. As an Off-Oekaki artist, you may only create starters and adopts here under the main page; we are not looking to expand into patrol cats or nursery litters currently.
