chickenpaint doesn't have a magic tool unfortunately so you'll have to colour in by hand
I personally don't use this method but some outline the line layer using the pixel brush and fill in with the paintbucket tool, so that might work for you!

there's no premade shape tool but i suggest drawing out your own shapes and duplicate/ manipulate them with transform
the straight line in the stroke box could be helpful for squares/stars or anything with straight edges

How do you even access the Oekaki? The quick link at the top of the site only shows me an activity feed of people I follow. (I haven’t followed anyone so it just says I haven’t followed anyone)

Top of site -> Art -> boards -> choose a board -> 'new drawing'

I apologize if this has been asked before but is there a way to add an image into Oekaki? I like to color pick my drawings from my refs but I'll need to adjust some things if that is not possible. Thank you so much! :]

No you can't upload anything into oekaki. My work around is opening my color ref in another art program and getting the hex codes. Hex codes do work in the oekaki.

Huh, maybe it's your browser? I have heard some browsers are picky and need certain settings turned on to use versions of the oekaki. I don't know if this makes a difference but did you clear your cache in your browser before loading a new drawing in the oekaki? If not I would try that.
