So your friends have found something in common that they can obsess over together. What's the problem in that? They've found something they really enjoy, something they can put their energy into. I don't see a problem with that.

I'm going to agree with Starface. They wouldn't begin "cussing" at you just because you said,"Nah, I don't like them that much."
You either have either stated your opinion the wrong way, or you are exaggerating.

I'm not a huge fan myself, of any pop music, really. I'll listen to the radio every now and then, but I tend to stick to Progressive House and Classical music. I'm such a weirdo ^w^.

You'd be surprised. My friend hates One Direction. There's this girl at my school that won a contest to go meet them for the weekend. She's like... obsessed. OVERLY obsessed. She has a 1D toothbrush, 1D backpack and on a school website with a SHARED account for the WHOLE class, she made the account picture one of the 1D people. So my friend said that 1D was overrated and boy, that really sparked up some choice words.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of 1D; I don't hate them, but I don't like them either. I honestly don't get the hype with them. :I They're not in my favorite genre of music, either. I grew up with rock and alternative music, therefore I have an attachment to it, not pop. But, everyone has their own opinion, and we should respect that. As long as I keep my mouth shut about my dislikes, and if some one else happens to dislike something I obsess over and they don't say it, then we're good. ^-^ Everyone has different obsessions for a reason. 1D just doesn't fit with who I am, like how Japanese anime songs might not fit with a 1D fan. I prefer anime guys over the real ones anyday. <3

I hate/dislike One Direction. Their songs annoy me.
But I do not go around bashing fans for liking them and such.
.... Though I don't like them in any way ^^; I don't really like Modern Music.
Everyone I entitled to their own opinion! Plus, it is a current popular phase. It passes in time ^^

Excuse me, I have the right to own my oppion even if it offends you. I've seen so many people with hate stamps of what I love so why is may disliking of 1D any differn't? Nowhere in my sig does it say I hate them, it just says I dislike them. I just have 2 stamps showing my oppion. I could care less if you like One Direction because this is MY oppion, not yours.

Why waste your time showing off that you don't like them though? Who cares? (Not trying to be rude of course, but really.)
I respect everyone's opinion 100%, but I'm still wondering why people are trying so hard to show off the fact they are not a fan.
I'd get it if someone said,
"Hey, do you like 1D?" 8D
And someone would reply,
"No, sorry." uwu
And it would end with,
"Oh, okay!" 8D

we have one direction pasted on almost everything in our school @__@
at open house day, they had this poster which said:"Only ONE DIRECTION TOWARDS THE ENTRANCE!" and i was just like "wow what on earth is 1D" (i just arrived at that school at that time)

And now i just stare at that poster and ignore it all along.
