Re: Field Of Dreams

Wow :D Nice realism! The only crit I can spot is the muzzle appears almost tilted towards us. If you draw a line through the eyes, then another through the nostrils, the lines will be on different angles instead of parallel to eachother, like in these pictures of a horse face.(If that makes sense) But it looks good otherwise. There's something very expressive in those eyes, and how detailed it is down to the feathers on the bird is impressive, but it still has a style of its own. Even while being realistic it has a somewhat dreamy quality that makes it interesting, and there's a lot of depth, a hard thing to do. x3 Overall good <3

edit: Oh, I see. -w- Sorry.

Thank you for the crits. I think that partly it's an illusion caused by both the white and the horse in my example was skewing his nostrils and lip. The angles are pretty close to the same, maybe less than a degree of seperation but I did it free hand, no grid, no graph and by mouse. The lines she has in her drawing examples are for perfection and as we all know, there is no such thing as perfectly bilateral anatomy in any creature. One side is always going to differ from the other even in pure white or pure black occurrences. I also found it odd that in the real life horse the left eye was lower than the right but the left nostril was above the right. Made the closer side look longer. I'm pretty perfectionisticic in my art. I tried to make the background reasonably simple in comparison.

See this example of what I used for reference.

Well, I would give one but I don't have one, hence the title "Field of ""Dreams"""

I do artwork though but I'm full up for right now. About 3 to 4 weeks out.

Sheltered behind its leaves, you can find shy notes,
And if you gather them, you can hear me breathing.
