“Thank youu!” Murmured a small flitling as she got a twix bar dropped in her pumpkin trick-or-treat pail. The flitling was wearing a mustard yellow and dark grey scarf, along with a black witch’s robe. She flung herself down the stairs of the house she was at, and made her way to the next house. There was a wooden stand with a big sign that said “Free Cloak Of Invisibility Raffle Here!” with some candle sticks surrounding . The young flitling looked at her mother for the “Ok” and her mother nodded enthusiastically. The flitling rushed up to the stand and saw an empty bucket. No one has entered yet? thought the young flitling. No matter! I’ll be the first to enter! She took a writing pencil from a cup and wrote her name in horrible writing, and put it in the no longer empty bucket. She ran down to her mother and exclaimed happily “I hope I win!”.

Of course Pip was the only one out of everyone that couldn’t finish their kingdom costume. He had worked so hard on getting the armor to shine just perfectly that he had completely forgotten to finish the helmet. He even stupidly made a shiny, purple flag to go with it instead of the helmet.
He sighed, looking at his empty halloween bucket while Sunny munched on a little snickers she had gotten.
“Sorry that you didn’t get anything-” She said, rummaging in her bag, careful to keep the chocolate from dripping onto her dress, “I could give you some of mine, if you want!”
Pip sighed, peeking over into her entirely full bag, nodding, “Yeah, got any of those gum lollipops?”
“I have a few, yeah! And you can take these little skittles too, they’re gross-” She scrunched up her nose, plopping a few paw-fuls of candy into his bucket.

Completed work:
The mouse pokes his small furry head out of his hole, it's Halloween night, the night that provides the most benefits to a scavenging mouse. A child in a zombie costume rushes by, a smaller child in a mummy costume trailing close behind them. The mouse ignores them, nothing good comes of trying to steal from children, last time he tried someone tried to catch him with a glass aquarium, and all the aquarium sand that had spilled had given the mouse the sneezes for weeks. Crouching low on the gravel path, the small mouse darts across the road, hiding in a crack between the dark steps of a house. A woman in a witch costume gives out candy, her skirt so long some of the fabric brushes into the gap where the mouse is hiding. He reaches up and grasps it in his teeth, tearing the fabric with a satisfying noise. Rushing home, he fashions a new bed of the red scrap, and snuggles down for the night.

The air was cold and biting as Mood slowly stepped towards the cave.
Cold rain pelted down on him, causing each breath he took to have a slight quiver.
How did he get in this situation? Let’s just say he got lost on his way to apple bobbing, and a storm started. Whoops.
He let out a sigh as he slowly stepped into the cavern, noticing a bat sleeping on the cavern’s roof right above a pile of, what seemed to be, useless items.

Mood tilted his head in confusion and slowly took another hesitant step towards the pile. A fishbowl containing a lone, very bored goldfish circled in the centre of the items. To the right was a pack of Reese’s peanut butter cups, which he pushed to the side as soon as he realised wasn’t made of meat. Purple and yellow streamers were laid messily all over the small pile. Just as he was about to push aside the goldfish bowl to see if there was anything underneath it, a familiar arachnid dropped down on a spindly web, staring at him with 8 beady eyes.
Immediately, Mood bolted out of the cave, leaving behind a very confused spider.

Candle sticks cast shadows on the dark blue walls, of figures gathered in a circle under the warmth of a tattered blanket. A mummy waved its arms in front of two skeletons.
"And then..." the mummy whispered, "the ghost jumped out at me!"
Silence.
"Boo!" exclaimed one of the skeletons.
The other skeleton jumped and squealed. So frightened, even its head fell off! But, against the wall, the shiloette of a guinea pig replaced the skeleton. Laughing hysterically, the mummy's wraps came undone, revealing two very long ears that clearly belonged to a rabbit. The second 'skeleton' took their mask off, another guinea pig who cried with laughter. The frightened guinea pig crossly folded their arms, only to knock over a teacup. The other two couldn't stop laughing. When everything fell quiet again, the rabbit reached for the almond joys in the middle of their circle and handed some to their friends.

The perfect plan, he thought as he put on the jester costume and the cloak of invisibility. He didn't know what to do with the patterned cloth, so left it in there.
Alex had thought of the perfect plan to scare his friend, Theluji, since he found the box. He knew Thelu had a bad fear of clowns.
The plan was to whisper things to him while invisible and play a ghost to freak out a bit. Then reveal himself, making him run for his life!
Alex snickered as he imagined the scared-to-death Theluji when he heard his friend's footsteps approach. He quickly made his way beside the flit and started his ominous whispering.
The other didn't seem to react to it though, not even when Alex whispered a bit louder.
Alex had another idea: grabbing the patterned cloth, he started making it look like it was a ghost.
Now that seemed to catch the flit's attention and as soon as he payed attention to him, Alex dropped the cloak and started laughing like a clown!
Theluji, though jumping a bit, he immediately recognized Alex.
"Nice try, bud, better luck scaring me next time. Good costume though, looking quite unsettling."

The forest was quiet this late at night. Bats could be heard up above, squeaking above the trees. A tattered mummy costume was the only thing to keep out the chill, and she wished she had thought to wear something warmer. Rodie trudged on, her tail dragging the empty bucket along the grass. Empty save for some saw dust, maybe a kit kat wrapper or two. She wasn't in the mood for candy, and had ended up giving most of hers away to some flitlings; A child dressed as a rabbit had been especially excited about the almond joys, which she had been happy to give. After being abandoned by her friends, in an unfamiliar neighborhood, all Rodie wished for was her bed, safe and warm.
Something turquoise flashed through the trees, standing out against the darkness of the night. Her interest piqued, Rodie decided to investigate, anything to ward off the boredom. There she found a beautifully colored spider, weaving an intricate web that gleamed in the dark. Rodie smiled to herself, watching the spider work, wondering if maybe she would be her friend and keep her company on this lonely night.
