The Shire Draft Horse (SDH) is a British breed of draft horse, known for its impressive size, strength, and gentle temperament, and is often called "the gentle giant". They were originally bred for heavy farm work and later used in various industries, including hauling carriages, towing barges, and pulling trams. The Shire Drafts Horse stands anywhere from 17-21 hands, with males typically larger than the females.
Shire Draft Horses are a Breed stemming from the original Shire Drafts, the only difference being a larger variety of coat patterns and colors than you would see in typical Shire Drafts.
