DAY NINE

Today, you enter the arcade and greet the staff as usual, humming
happily, without a care in the world. You're just about to head to your favourite
game machine, when you notice Goose waving you over to Goob's "office"
frantically with a very distressed expression on their face. You quickly pad over
to the two chicoons. Gadzooks appears to be playing something on his phone,
but his boss doesn't seem to care or mind which is highly unusual.
"Hey, uh, we... I installed the security cameras, as you suggested.
Something awfully strange indeed is happening, here, take a look!"

Goob gives you a worried smile and turns his computer screen so that you can
see the camera footage better. He fastforwards it to roughly 02:15am, where some
of the cabinet screens seem to be flashing. Your eyes widen when you realise those
aren't even plugged in, as the arcade staff turns the power generator off at night.
Eventually, some begin to topple over, sparks flying all around their wires. Soon,
something breaks through one of the machine's screens, but you can't exactly see
what. It shatters through the glass and retracts back into the machine, disappearing
as quickly as it appeared. The small bee-like chicoon pauses the footage and rewinds
it so that you can see. It's a tail. A very, very long centipede-like tail. Looks like
something is trying to break out of the machine!

"It was just as I feared... Something terrible is coming." Goose and Goob swivel around
in the direction of the voice and you quickly follow suit. A very brightly-coloured yellow
and blue chicoon is sitting behind Goose, tail swishing anxiously. You recognise it instantly,
having seen him around the arcade before. "I'm Rattlecage, and I happen to
know who this guy is." Rattlecage nods at Goob's monitor, paws folded over his chest.
"You're in grave danger... but I'm willing to help. Do you trust me?"

Magnus cannot believe the things he has gotten himself into lately. This creature, whatever it was, took technological bugs to a whole other level. While Goose and Gadzooks were absolutely crazy for expecting him to join them and Rattlecage, he couldn't help but agree to trust the new guy and help them deal with whatever the creature was. He couldn't exactly play any games with peace of mind with this thing running amok, he reasoned to himself. So it was a win win to continue helping them out, even though he presently felt at a loss in the face of dealing with the creature. Why he keeps willingly getting himself into what could only be described as trouble is something he'll have to figure out later.

You guys know how I feel about bugs.” Everett started to scan the room for hidden cameras. “Am I on an episode of ‘What What You Do?’” Hearing Rattlecage’s concern, Everett began to back away from the footage. “I really do not know if I can be a part of this.” They paused for a brief moment. “Are you sure this is not a prank?”
