Selrosvo (aka. Selros) are a bipedal, digitigrade species that mutated due to a strange magic in the oceans they used to inhabit. Their heights range from 4'0" to around 7'0" depending on the subspecies, but overall tend to be around the same height as a human at full stance. Their traits differ from species to species, but all Selrosvo have a rectangular face, no mammal-like ears, and paw feet.

Selrosvo have human-level intelligence at base (some subspecies have higher intelligence), and live in Selro-run towns and villages. A good majority of Selrosvo also take to living on the open sea once more through the power of ships. Selros wishing to travel on the ocean tend to take any number of other Selro as crewmates, as they are very social creatures and cannot handle being alone too well- especially while on the ocean.

general rules

- follow all chickensmoothie rules
- selrosvo are a closed species, please do not make your own without an myo or explicit permission from the owner (bakuraas.)
- do not witchhunt/attack anyone with a similar concept or character.
- you must have an account age of 1 month or older to interact with selrosvo unless given explicit permission.
- use basic manners and respect others, member and staff alike!
- do not beg for adoptables, or complain if you do not get one. (comments like 'i'll never get a selro :(' are unacceptable.)
- do not bid/offer money you cannot provide on a paid adoptable.
- rules may be edited or adjusted at any time (last update; 5/4/22)

selrosvo ownership + creation rules

- there is no limit of how many selrosvo you can own.
- there is currently no plans for a breeding/nursery system
- anyone may design your myo for you if you cannot, this can be paid or free.
- selrosvo may be inspired by characters in the public domain, selrosvo inspired by a copyright version of said public domain character will not be allowed. (ex. classic cinderella is an ok inspiration, disney's cinderella is not.)
- related to above, gatekeeping a design concept/inspiration is unacceptable.
- if you are banned, your selrosvo becomes voided, and is no longer seen as an official and valid selrosvo.
- you cannot edit your selrosvo's official reference unless proper items are used.
- despite being very loose on traits, please do not depict your selrosvo with traits it does not have.
- you are allowed to use your selrosvo as a sona, you do not need artist permission to do this.

trade + sale rules

- selrosvo have a trade cooldown of 14 days after obtaining, and cannot be transferred until after that period
- unless bought for usd, you may not sell a selrosvo or item to anyone for usd.
- do not sell selrovo acquired by free means for any sort of currency, fictional or otherwise.
- item/selrosvo transfers must go through archive/bank updates in order to be considered official.

staff rules

- discord is required in order to become staff (our discord isn't finished yet but I won't open staff apps until it is dw)
- staff are fully expected to follow all rules as any community member would
- staff are expected to be unbiased in moderator and/or artist duties
- if you need assistance, please ask your fellow staff!
- artist keep 100% of the profits from paid selrosvo adopts, this accounts for all currency types including event currency/treasure

Selrosvo do not have a set trait list, only subspecies rarities, and mutations
that cannot be used on a standard Selrosvo without an item or special permission.

if you're worried a trait you want on a selro might be outlandish enough to be a mutation, please ask!

list of currently confirmed non-mutation edits;

- cosmetic edits (expression, items, tattoos, makeup)
- clothing/accessories ( does NOT need item use to add to a selrosvo )
- companion animals ( does NOT need item use to add to a selrosvo )
- glow/glowing markings
- scar edits and missing limb edits (also includes missing eyes)
- eye shape/pupil shape/eyebrow shape edits
- internal teeth edits (as opposed to the pseudo-teeth that are on croc/shark classes)
- additional head frills/growths (includes anything that doesn't alter the head shape directly, like horns or additional face fins)
- weight edits (please try to keep them reasonable! )
- hair/beard/backmane/mane edits (no full fur edits, though! try to keep it around the head/neck/back!)
- tail edits (tail change must still somewhat match the animal inspiration of the subspecies! ex. a manatee selro cannot have a betta fish tail, a mermaid selro cannot have a seal tail )

Manatee Selrosvo | Common Subspecies

Most Manatees are passive healers and motivators,
assisting their crew as best they can. When Manatees do
take up arms, they're tough to take down.

Shark Selrosvo | Common Subspecies

Sharks are built to be fighters, taking the front lines and
taking down enemies. They have a habit of sparring with
other shark selrosvo in order to train their abilities.

Seahorse Selrosvo | Uncommon Subspecies

Seahorses are Selrosvo who are more likely to pick up a
paintbrush than a sword. Craftsfolk in their heart,They're
known for being excellent ship builders and artists.

Gator/Croc Selrosvo | Uncommon Subspecies

Their brawn is almost matched by their great brains.
Gator and Croc Selrosvo are battle strategists who know
that running headfirst into battle isn't always the best option.

Mermaid Selrosvo | Rare Subspecies

Mermaids have taken the magic of the ocean and used it to
its full potential, becoming the only selrosvo subspecies able
to use magic. Such power can be a burden, however...

Kraken Selrosvo | Legendary Subspecies

Legends tell of a Selrosvo subspecies shunned by the world
around them, taking to violence and cruelty across the sea.
To meet with one is a terrible fate indeed...

KNOWN MUTATIONS

- Siren's Song Mutation; Allows a Selrosvo to return to the water once more! Their legs are replaced with a large version of their subspecies category's tail. (ex. a shark selro with a siren's song mutation has their legs replaced with a shark tail.)

- Serpent's Agony Mutation; A branch off of Siren's Song, allows a Selrosvo to become part sea-serpent! Their legs are replaced with either a large snake tail, or a tail similar to that of a finned sea serpent.

- Wings of the Sea Mutation; Allows a Selrosvo to sprout a pair of wings in any style they wish. (ex. feathery wings, batlike wings, and butterfly/bug wings are all acceptable with this mutation.)

- Burden of Two Minds Mutation; Causes a Selrosvo to grow a second head, this second head mirrors the edits/traits of the original head, but can be altered slightly. (ex. head 1 has a spiral pupil edit, head 2 may have spiral pupils or star-shaped pupils as both fall under a pupil edit)

- Leeching Element Mutation Causes part of a Selrosvo's body to become encased or otherwise controlled by an element. The element can be any of the four elements, but also includes things like crystals and space matter. (ex. Arms made of fire, Wings made of Water, Tail made of Crystal, Eyes made of clouds/air)

- Monkey's Paw Curse Mutation; Causes a Selrosvo to grow an additional set of arms. These arms may be smaller or the same size to the existing arms of a Selro. This mutation can stack once, allowing for a maximum 4 extra arms on a selro.

- Hidden Identity Mutation; Allows a Selrosvo to have an additional form, which may change colors or adjust edits as long as a mutation is not added in the new form. (ex. form 1 has a hair edit and a shorter tail, form 2 may have an alternate hair edit, and a longer tail)
