Nightbounds are shy creatures that only
ever lived in space for the longest time.
They traveled in a few large pods,
searching for food, companionship, and
safe space clouds to nest in. Eventually
a pod stumbled upon earth, and found
it to be a very hospitable place to nest,
and it quickly became tradition for
them to migrate once every year to earth.
However, over the years, many
Nightbounds decided to stay on earth
permanently, enjoy the surface with it's
rolling hills and deep oceans more than
outer space. Now, Nightbounds can be
readily found both in space and on earth.

Nightbounds are shy creatures and tend
to avoid human, but if you can become
friends with them, they become loyal
protective companions. The average
intelligence can very with each dragon,
with even wild pods showing social
structure and the usage of tools. Other
dragons have also been observed falling
out of trees and misunderstanding the
calls of their peers, so their intelligence
varies with each one.

Nightbounds can be used for many things,
from general companionship to training
and working. Some people like to simply
observe a pod of wild Nighbounds, and
such documentaries are very popular.

Welcome to Nightbound Dragons!

Nightbound dragons have existed for thousands of years roaming in large pod through space from galaxy to galaxy. Over time as these creatures interact more and more with earth, they have begun to evolve. Now, these dragons are often referred to as Nightbound Dragons Next Gen (or NBDng), and exhibit some very interesting new traits and abilities! What story will you make with your Nightbounds?


How to obtain a Nightbound

There are many ways to get a NB of your own! Below are some of the many ways you can start your collect! --

✪ Adoption Center -- (not currently set up!) The adoption center is one of the best places to get your first NB! Here special and unwanted NB are kept for people to swap with, but they also give a free dragon to those with less than 2!

✪ Adopts -- Many adopts are made each month by the talented artists in our staff! Some are free fcfs, raffles, contests, and more, while others are paid adopts!

✪ MYO -- You can either buy MYO charms from the shop for C$, or you sometimes win them from adopt contests and events, and exchange prompt points for them too!

✪ Events -- NBD has about 4-5 events each year with tons of fun stuff! There are adopts, special Event Fabled NB, usually fun booths, and sometimes special event MYO centers or other ways to earn personal NB!

✪ Customs -- Sometimes staff artists will open (usually paid) customs! These are often customised to your hearts content (within the rarity limit), and can be a great way to turn your dream NB into a reality!

⭐︎ Nightbounds are a closed species, only dragons approved by staff count towards this species.

⭐︎ There is no limit to the amount of Nightbounds you can own, nor to the amount of times they can be breed (observing breeding cooldown)

⭐︎ Nightbounds can be gifted, traded, or sold to others so long as they adhere to the following - are not being given to a banned member, and are not being sold for more than they were bought for (NBs bought with real world currency may be resold for real world currency, but only at the same or lower price, and only for the exact same currency. Additional art does not increase value, and cannot be counted toward sale price. Please pm LavenderRain if you have any questions)

⭐︎ Artists must always be credited, especially if taken to storage offsite (e.g. Toyhouse)

⭐︎ Nightbound may be inspired by fandom characters or other such real world things, but must be distinctively unique designs

⭐︎ You may make up your own lore or stories for your Nightbounds, or put them in worlds/relationships with other closed species (if that species allows it!) They do not need to adhere to the suggested lore and abilities mentioned on the main page, however they must follow CS rules in terms of family friendliness and such!

Nightbound rarity is defined more by the general edits or amount of traits, rather than super specific traits!
Below is a guide to each rarity of Nbs, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! Make sure to also check the FAQ to see if your question already has an answer![/color]

These are the traits Nightbounds Classic-Mystical should always have! Fabled rarity is the only exception to these rules

Nightbounds should always have --
✦ 1+ pair of wings somewhere
✦ Tail has fire/s somewhere, can be shaped but never solid (eg, heart shaped flame ✔, fruit cut into flame shape ❌)
✦ 1+ horn on head (cheek and chin count too, mouth (aka fangs) does not)
✦ 1+ pair of limbs (injured/stub limbs are ok, but at least 1 must be full)
✦ Muzzle must over half the length of the head (approximately)
✦ Tail must be over half the length of the body (approximately)

Classic is the most common rarity, and seen very often! It may be lowest rarity, but it still allows a large range of customization on Nightbounds!

Classic Traits/Rules
✦ No horns anywhere on the main body
✦ No custom drawn limbs (custom drawn wings and tail allowed)
✦ No head shape edits (head edits such as horns, ears, etc. allowed)
✦ 1/3rd or less of different body textures (think feathers, fur, goop, etc.)
✦ Unlimited accessories (note that accessories must not infringe on Uncommon traits (eg, a fake pair of wings))
✦ Tail fire always at the tip

⭐︎✦✶✧✰━━━━━━━━━━✰✧✶✦⭐︎

Uncommon rarity is seen almost as often as Classic, and allows for a bit more customization than Classic does

Uncommon Traits/Rules - Any lower tier traits +
✦ Hair of any kind (tufts that are clearly from a fluffy body can be Classic)
✦ 1/2 or less of different body textures (think feathers, fur, goop, etc.)
✦ Any amount of extra eyes or ears
✦ 1 extra tail, pair of wings, and/or pair of limbs anywhere
✦ Tail fire anywhere on tail

⭐︎✦✶✧✰━━━━━━━━━━✰✧✶✦⭐︎

Mystical rarity is the rarest you can find on adopts, customs, myos, etc. These traits don't appear often, and can allow near limitless possibilities in Nightbounds!

Mystical Traits/Rules - Any lower tier traits +
✦ 2+ wings, limbs, or tails
✦ Extreme weight and height edits (munchkin, etc.)
✦ Complete custom lines (different pose than the base)
✦ Over 1/2 of different body textures (think feathers, fur, goop, etc.)

Fabled rarity (also known as illegal traits) has super special traits only rarely found on event or milestone Nightbound! These traits can never be applied, and can only be found on special adopts or pass through breeding

Fabled Traits/Rules - Any lower tier traits +
✦ No Rules! Emcompesses every "illegal" trait
✦ Only assignable by allowed staff
