What are CHIMKINS?

Chimkins are a small feathery raptor descended from their great (great) ancestors, the Dromaeosauriformipes.

Though not as tiny as their ancestors (which were about the size of a sparrow), they are more akin in size to that of the Old English Game hen.

Their eggs are nutritious and along with hens of this species being excellent brooders, they are a favorite for their vast variety of markings and colors - generally no two Chimkins are the same!

Chimkin are incredibly intelligent, able to be trained and learn commands.

RULES

Do not be argumentative or otherwise harass any Chimkin staff or its members. Negative behavior of any kind may result in a warning or a permanent ban to not only Chimkins as a species but anything I myself or the other staff (per their decision) produce on CS.

DO NOT message our staff to ask to become a staff member.
If we're hiring at all for any position, we will seek out people who best fit those roles.
Do not ask a second admin to become a staff member if the first has turned you down.
Seriously. Just don't.

READ every main post! There are often rules and guidelines that you MUST follow!
Failure to do so could result in your form/post being ignored/skipped over.

Do not whine or beg.

Do not create a Chimkin without a MYO, these are a CLOSED species.

Do not sell your Chimkins for any real currency.

Chimkins you have gotten for free may not be sold for any form of currency, real or fake.

Trading is allowed but must be brought to the attention of myself (Pandapop).

If you're looking to acquire Chimkins for the sole purpose of turning them into trade fodder, you will be warned or possibly banned from the species entirely.

Do not purchase/adopt/trade to someone who has been banned. This will result in a ban for yourself.

Staff are allowed to apply for adopts (they just can't apply for their own).
Staff are not treated with favor, they get the same chance to win as everyone else!

Staff are allowed to participate in events.

General Questions:

Q: How can I get a Chimkin?

A: By Adoptions & Auctions or purchasing/winning your own custom! Go here to purchase a custom!

Q: Why are roosters so rare?

A: Well, for a number of reasons! Roosters are able to breed whenever and however many times they want and do not have limited slots, which already makes them more valuable than hens. Roosters are easier to train, so the benefits of having one are better (Roosters have a natural advantage in Scavenger Hunts! (Hopefully coming soon!))

Q: I want a Rooster. How can I get one?

A: By breeding! There's a very low chance a chick will hatch into a roo (roughly 10% for Standards and 5% for Fancies), but it's currently the only other way to get one besides the auctions we might hold every now and then (Or purchasing a Rooster Pill when one is available, and customs which grant you the option of creating a Standard or Fancy roo.)

Q: What can I do with my Chimkin?

A: Breed it, use it to participate in events, trade it, and admire it! (Or if you're like myself... collect 'em.)

Q: What are Sunflower Seeds / What is SS?

A: Sunflower Seeds (or SS) are a currency gained from participation in events and activities, and are a secondary currency bound to the Chimkin community! There is a C$ to SS conversion available as well! (5 SS per every 1 C$)

Q: If I don't want my Chimkin anymore, what do I do with it?

A: You could gift it or (with permission) sell your Chimkin for virtual currency (or CS pets/items) to another user.
You may only sell your Chim for what it is worth if it was a paid adopt or custom. If you obtained the Chimkin for free, it has no C$ value and you cannot sell it. If confused, ask me (Pandapop).

Q: Can I transfer my Chimkins design onto another character if I no longer wish to use it?

A: We would prefer if you didn't! (No don't do this.)

Q: What happens to a banned users Chims or items?:

A: A banned user may still own/keep their Chims, but they are unable to participate in anything the Chimkins community has to offer. Their Chims will be "frozen in time" on the archives and cannot be interacted with in any way. All items or SS in a banned users bank are void and cannot be resold, traded or gifted. They simply cease to exist.

A banned user MAY gift or trade their Chimkin to someone still active within the community, but their value drops.

Adoption Questions:

Q: Where do I go to adopt a Chimkin?

A: To the Adoptions page!

Q: How many Chimkin can I adopt? How many can I own?

A: As of 09/07/21 we have removed the adoption cap! You can adopt as many times as you like (assuming you win!)
As of March 2022 the Coop limits have been removed, so you may continue collecting!

Q: I adopted a chick but I don't like the adult design it grew into, can I change it?

A: Nope, sorry! You adopt chicks with the knowledge that they could turn into anything. You can trade it, though! C$ or CS Pets/Items, SS, art, etc. Never more than wait you paid for the chick.

Q: I won a Chimkin through an Auction but I decided I no longer want it, can I sell it?

A: Sure! You can sell it to another player for the amount that you paid (or lower), but it MUST be C$ or SS!
I will not refund the cost if someone decides they no longer want something they already paid for.

Q: Am I able to adopt for a friend?

A: No, sorry! If your friend wants to adopt, they need to apply themselves!

Q: I won a Chimkin through an Auction recently, can I participate again if there's another?

A: Yep!
