The American Wild Dog is a recently discovered and
quickly declining population of Canines whose habitat stretches
across the southwest of North America and into much of
Central America. Residing in arid climates, these canines are
lean and nimble, reaching speeds of up to 38 mph.
Rumored to be related to African Painted Dogs & Maned Wolves,
these dogs are notably more docile than their foreign relatives.
Frequently chased out of rural towns for becoming too friendly
around local livestock, they almost seem to thrive in communities.
Local hunters however have not been as 'friendly' and have decimated
populations by mistaking them for feral dogs, wolves, coyotes etc.

These dogs need your help if they are to remain. By adopting
and preserving this species, you can help their numbers grow
through breeding programs within your Sanctuary and
surrounding Sanctuaries. Please consider joining this
community and preserving this beautiful and diverse species!
