What is an Ethereon?
Ethereons are a species closely related to the african lion (Panthera leo) whose main habitat is open fields, prairies and valleys. They are found all over the world, though they mostly prefer hotter climates. Their most notable feature is their manes, that are effectively made out of clouds. All Ethereons have manes regardless of gender and, should they die, it will dissipate and create a thick fog that can last for days on end.

An Ethereon's job is to prevent natural disasters such as hurricanes or tornadoes, and keep human pollution at bay. They do this using their innate weather magic that varies in intensity from individual to individual, though some Ethereons have been rumoured to be able to control elements other than the sky and be able to call the heaviest of storms, or even be able to manipulate volcanoes. What they all have in common magic-wise is their ability to levitate for extended periods of time and be able to walk on clouds.

They worship the god Aer, who, according to legend, created them as guardians of the skies and blessed them with their magic. While they share some traits, no Ethereon is similar to another, personality or appereance-wise!

(*"Natural" means any ears or tail from real-life animals, such as a fox or a bear's!)

Stratus (Uncommon)
Large fur edits - bigger mane - shorter mane - horns (2 max) - halo - small wings (2 max) - different ears/tail (fantasy*) - minor elemental edits - missing eyes - third eye - iridescent fur/mane

(*"Fantasy" means any ears or tail from fantastic or mythical animals, such as a dragon's!)

Nimbus (Rare)
Multiple wings (6 max) - large wings - glowing markings - glowing eyes - thunderstorm mane - large elemental edits - missing limbs (up to 2) - multiple horns (up to 6) - multiple halos (up to 3) - tailmouth - height edits (dwarfism/rev. munchkinism)

(A guest artist may not create any Nimbus Ethereons without a staff member's permission!)

Morning Glory (Legendary)
Genesplice - color shifting markings - shapeshifter - gem growth - plant growth - exposed bone - crystal/goop parts

(Artists may not create any Morning Glory Ethereons without DaniCalifornia's permission! Likewise, Morning Glory MYOs will need their approval)

Banned
Maneless - extra heads - human genesplice

(No Ethereons may posess these traits, no matter if they are a main adopt, a MYO or a custom)

Traits can be added, removed or changed at staff's discretion!

Community rules
1. Ethereons are a closed species. You may not create your own without permission!
2. Be kind and treat both staff and other members with respect, and do not harass, guilt-trip, or otherwise be rude to them.
3. Ethereons work on a 3-strike system, though strikes will be listed privately. If a situation is severe enough, users may be banned without any strikes at all.
4. Offsite situations may be strike or ban-worthy if they relate to Ethereons directly or are severe enough.
5. Bans may be appealed to DaniCalifornia privately depending on their severity.
6. Banned users may not trade, sell or breed their Ethereons, acquire any new ones, or interact with the community in any way, but they will never get their characters taken away. Should a banned user decide they no longer want their Ethereons, a readoption will be held for them.
7. You must have a CS account to own an Ethereon. Users who are quitting Chickensmoothie can keep their Ethereons, but if they decide to give them away a readoption will be held for them.
8. There is no limit on how many Ethereons you can own.
9. Free Ethereons may not be sold for any kind of currency. Paid Ethereons, however, can be sold but only for equal or less value than what was originally paid for them.
10. Ethereons may not be sold for real money or offsite currency ever.

Staff rules
1. Be kind to other users, fellow staff or not.
2. Abuse of power will result in an inmediate demotion and strike, or if the situation is severe enough, a ban.
3. Follow CS guidelines when making adopts, and do not copy other users' designs or copyrighted media.
4. Remember to always list your Ethereon's rarity and traits!
5. Morning Glory Ethereons may not be created without DaniCalifornia's permission.
6. Guest artists' position lasts one month, starting from the day they were officially hired. During that period, they are expected to create at least two adopts, with a maximum of five. They may not create any Ethereons above Stratus rarity without staff permission. At the end of their position, regardless of whether they became full artists or not, they will receive a Stratus MYO for their efforts!
7. Artists who haven't created any adopts in two months or more without a reason will be moved into the hiatus category and contacted privately. If there is no response in a month, they might be kicked from their position.
8. Rolls must be either done publicly in the Ethereons discord, or a proof in the form of a screenshot must be provided to ensure fairness.
9. Ethereons can be either free or paid, but paid Ethereons may not be sold for USD or offsite currency.
10. Staff will receive 1 Nimbus MYO every month they are active!
