Welcome to terrabites!
Terrabites are a canine-like species with glass or terrarium heads! This species lacks mouthes, eyes or ears regularly however has shown that it can hear and see without issue. It's unknown how the species does this though some theories suggest either a complex system within the glass is used to see due to the fact that with a damaged glass head the terrabites appear to be partially or fully blind.
Terrrabites have been observed to have a routine during the day or a rough one at least; Sunbathing during the start of the day with their solar panels upwards which seems to be a form of energy. It replaces the need to eat any form of food at all.
Some terrabites wag their tails as apposed to sunbathing; as it also generates energy via motion! When young; baby terrabites of otherwise known as 'bytes' will cuddle up to their parents and receive warmth. It's theorised that temporarily bytes will be able to gain energy from heat but will grow to gain it through solar and motion.
Notably; any with material changes cannot use that certain piece of their energy collection. More notably that if both are changed (a trait rarely found in bytes) the terrabite wont be able to generate its own energy at all. It's theorised this scarce trait could be maintained if energy generation via heat is maintained from byte to adult.
