- Only artists on the Toadstool Valley staff list may create official Fungus Folk.
- Please respect everyone. Do not be rude to anyone, especially the staff. Bullying or harassment will not be tolerated here.
- Do not beg, try to bribe, or otherwise harass artists regarding their adopts.
- Do not spam or double post. Take chats to private messages. Saying "mark" on any of the related threads is allowed.
- Do not mini-mod. Please let the staff handle any misbehavior or answer any questions posted. This is to ensure that misbehavior is dealt with properly and questions are answered without any chance of a member giving the wrong answer by mistake.
- Do not steal. This includes things such as the lineart, any graphics used in the threads, or Fungus Folk already owned by someone else. Toadstool Valley staff will not hesitate to report members if they are caught stealing.
- Members should not whine if they did not get the Fungus Folk they wanted or if there aren't any available. There will be more to try for later, and if there haven't been adopts out in a while it just means that the artists are busy.
- Fungus Folk may not be owned by more than one person at a time, which is called co-ownership. This is to help deter potential drama among members.
- Fungus Folk can be showcased on other websites but must always be credited to rainbowpanda101 and the artist who made the design. If posting to another website, such as toyhouse or deviantart, always link back to the Toadstool Valley main thread so others can see where it came from.
- The Artist Search thread is only available for people to use to try out to be an artist. Please do not use it for other purposes, such as drawing your OCs. You will be reported if you misuse the Artist Search.
PAYMENTS
- Breeding and customs require C$ payment to the artists. Members who are accepted by an artist for a breeding or custom must send the payment in a ready to accept trade to the artist before the artist will begin working on the breeding or custom. Trade cancellations done without warning before the artist is finished with a breeding or custom will earn members a strike. If a member needs to back out of a breeding or trade, they should contact the artist about it first.
ADOPTING, TRADING, & GIFTING
- Members can own an unlimited number of Fungus Folk but should allow others to adopt if they have quite a few already. If staff begin to notice a trend in certain people winning adopts too often, a monthly adoption limit will be added.
- Fungus Folk can be traded or gifted away but cannot be sold for any type of currency, real or otherwise. There are no restrictions on what Fungus Folk can be traded for. Trade them for other Fungus Folk, for art, other species that allow trading, etc.
- Members must post an ownership update form in the main thread for a trade or gift to be made official.
- Members may choose to hold re-adoption competitions to adopt out any or all of the Fungus Folk they own, at any time after receiving them. Members must post an ownership update form in the main thread after a re-adoption winner is decided or the re-adoption will not be official.
FUNGUS FOLK AS CHARACTERS
- Owners are able to give their Fungus Folk any personalities, sexualities, or other characteristics that they want. However, anything that could be classified as NSFW, controversial, offensive, or not child friendly should not be posted at all. Members will be asked to remove such details on their Fungus Folk if they are too readily available to the public.
- Members cannot alter a Fungus Folk's Oekaki image but may be added to the Oekaki thread in order to save a Fungus Folk to their gallery or to get a transparent/separate image.
- Alternate Universes (AU) are allowed and encouraged. Please respect the AU of others if they choose to go this route.
- Owners may roleplay their Fungus Folk in any manner they please. However, any roleplays that could be classified as NSFW, controversial, offensive, or not child friendly should not be posted at all.
- Fungus Folk cannot be fursonas. Please do not ask to make a Fungus Folk your fursona.
CUSTOMS
- To be able to get a custom, members will need to pay a Toadstool Valley artist to make their custom.
- Customs must abide by the Traits section and must be created by a member of staff.
- There are no restrictions on how many Custom Fungus Folk a person can have.
BREEDING
- To be able to get a breeding, members will need to pay a Toadstool Valley artist to breed their Fungus Folk.
- Fungus Folk can have any gender identity or sexual preference, which is decided by whoever owns them.
- Any Fungus Folk can breed together as long as they are not related. Incest is not allowed. Fungus Folk that are too closely related will not be allowed to breed.
- Fungus Folk can produce 1 to 4 offspring, called moppets, at a time. The number of moppets in a brood will be determined by a random number generator, with 1 or 2 moppets being more common than 3 or 4. All partner breedings will ensure 2 or 4 moppets so that both partners get the same number of moppets from their breeding.
- There are no restrictions on how many times Fungus Folk can breed. They can mate for life or breed with a different Fungus Folk each time they breed. Whether a Fungus Folk mates for life or not is up to the owner.
- When requesting a breeding, the Fungus Folk must be owned by the member(s) requesting the breeding.
- Members can only advertise for a breeding partner once per page in the nursery. Please take all breeding partner discussions to private message. Partner discussions in any of the threads will be considered spam.
- In partner breedings, both members must post a filled out form. Once the first partner posts, the second partner has to post their form or the request becomes invalid. The second partner to post must link to the first partnerβs form.
- Partners must decide what will happen to the moppets produced from their breeding. If a fair decision cannot be made between the partners, they may request a Toadstool Valley staff member to step in and help make the decision.
STAFF SPECIFIC
Artists
- All artists are expected to participate in adopts, breedings, and customs. Artists should create at least 2 adopts per month, 2 breedings a month, and 2 customs a month. Doing more than required is encouraged.
- All adopts, breedings, and customs must be made on the Oekaki.
- Artists will wait 48 hours after they post a first come, first serve Fungus Folk to declare a winner, just in case a COPPA player was first and is waiting for their post to be cleared by a moderator.
- All artists may make their own customs and may create either 2 Common OR 1 Uncommon OR 1 Rare Fungus Folk each month. These customs may include any number of traits that are below or match the rarity they are making.
- All artists may make their own breedings. However, they must have rainbowpanda101 roll the number of moppets for their breeding in order to keep things fair for everyone.
Moderators
- Moderators are expected to answer questions and reprimand rule breakers in any Toadstool Valley related threads.
- Moderators can request 1 free Common custom Fungus Folk each month from one of the official Toadstool Valley artists when they are available. If a Moderator wants a higher rarity Fungus Folk, they can combine 2 months to get 1 Uncommon or 3 months to get 1 Rare.
STRIKES / BANS
Toadstool Valley has a three strikes policy. Members get three chances before being banned.
Strikes earned by rule breakers will have a time period. After a certain date, a strike will be removed.
However, if a member reaches three strikes before any of the strikes are removed, they will be banned.
If a member is banned for getting three strikes, they will be banned from Toadstool Valley for a minimum of 3 months.
Strikes are for minor rule breaking. Stealing or other any larger rule breaking will get members banned permanently.
Please pay attention to the rules. We want everyone to be treated equally and have a nice time in this community!

XXXXXX
XXXX XXXFungus Folk are tiny, intelligent beings that look like mushrooms! They come in an array of colors and patterns. They originated from a single valley, which has become known as Toadstool Valley. These sociable critters are incredibly friendly and oh so cute! Today, they can be found in many households and are viewed by many people as sort of like pets. They love to help in gardens and nurseries and are useful in getting rid of crop pests. Fungus Folk are friendly, caring, overly trusting, and amazingly sweet - usually. Like us, there are the occasional grumps and shy Fungus Folk in the bunch!ANATOMY
XXXFungus Folk are mushrooms that have come to life. They can have one, two, or three caps sprouting from the top of their head. Their eyes are either small and beady black or wide and white with no pupil. All Fungus Folk have a spot of blush on each cheek. Nobody really knows why they're always blushing, but it certainly adds to their cuteness! Most of them have two arms and two legs, but occasionally you'll come across a Fungus Folk who is missing arms. Some have also been seen with what are called cap skirts, which are flaps of skin connected where the cap meets the head. The majority of Fungus Folk come in natural colors like brown, tan, and off-white, but there are also ones in muted colors like pale green or mauve as well as ones in brighter colors like orange or blue. Their patterns include spots and stripes, as well as colored hands, toes, faces, and bellies.
ORIGIN
XXXFor many years, nobody knew exactly where Fungus Folk came from. They just started showing up in their home valley living in tree stumps and logs. Then one day, a family was hiking in the valley and came across what is commonly known as a fairy ring - a bunch of mushrooms growing in a circle. They were amazed when they saw a handful of Fungus Folk spring up out of the soil in the middle of the fairy ring, clearly alive and ready to take on the world! Since then, we now know that Fungus Folk are born from rings of mushrooms. We're still trying to figure out the significance of the fairy rings, though!
DIET
XXXXXXXXFungus Folk are carnivores and thrive on insects and worms. They are both sedentary
and active predators and will sit and wait for an insect to cross their path or dig in the soil
for worms. The majority of their diet consists of insects, while they typically only hunt for
worms after a good rain washes them up.
SOCIAL
XXXFungus Folk are incredibly social and will build family units both in the wild and in domestic situations. These minute creatures are extremely friendly, caring, and overly trusting and will willfully go with a stranger if they believe the stranger will treat them well. If you have a garden you need help caring for, a Fungus Folk is always willing to help out! They communicate using squeals, grunts, chirps, and whistles. Once you get to know a Fungus Folk, it can be easy to tell how they're feeling by the sounds they make!

XXXWhen a Toadstool Valley artist is interested in doing some breeding, they will post in the nursery thread that they are open for breeding. Artists are allowed to either do first come, first serve slots or choose which breedings they want to do from the ones posted during their opening. When an artist says they are open for breeding, simply fill out and post the correct breeding form (found below) to be considered for a slot.
BROOD SIZE
XXXFungus Folk can produce 1 to 4 offspring, called moppets, at a time. The number of moppets in a brood will be determined by a random number generator, with 1 or 2 moppets being more common than 3 or 4. All partner breedings will ensure 2 or 4 moppets so that both partners get the same number of moppets from their breeding.
PARTNER BREEDING
XXXMost people will probably want to breed their own Fungus Folk together, but partner breeding is also allowed. Partners are two different people who are breeding their Fungus Folk together. In partner breedings, both members must post a filled out form. Once the first partner posts, the second partner has to post their form or the request becomes invalid. The second partner to post must link to the first partnerβs form.
OWNERSHIP OF MOPPETS
XXXIf a breeding is done with only one breeder, all of the moppets produced from the breeding automatically go to that breeder. They may decide to keep, trade, or gift their mopppets. Re-adoptions can also be done if a breeder decides to do so.
XXXPartners must decide what will happen to the moppets produced from their breeding. Each moppet produced will go to one of the partners. From there, they can choose to keep, trade, or gift their moppets. If a fair decision cannot be made between the partners, they may request a Toadstool Valley staff member to step in and help make the decision.

Artists are allowed to either do first come, first serve slots or choose which customs they want to do from the ones posted during their opening. When an artist says they are open for customs, simply fill out and post the custom form (found below) to be considered for a slot.

Common customs can only have Basic or Common Traits. Uncommon customs can only have Basic, Common, or Uncommon Traits. And Rare customs can have any Basic, Common, Uncommon, or Rare traits. Some artists may decide to charge more for their designs or charge based on the complexity of the custom you request. Pay attention to what each artist says in their opening posts. If you don't, you may be declined a custom slot by the artists.
REFERENCES
XXXCustom Fungus Folk cannot be based on reference pictures or already pre-existing characters, whether commercial or original. If you attempt to provide a pre-existing character to base your custom Fungus Folk on, your request will be denied. If there's a specific sort of cap shape, color, marking, etc. you are wanting, you may provide an image only for clarification. Artists will not directly copy any photos provided.

Partner discussions in any of the threads will be considered spam.Q: Can I edit my Fungus Folk?A: No. You cannot alter a Fungus Folk's Oekaki image, but you may be added to the Oekaki thread in order to save a Fungus Folk to your gallery or to get a transparent/separate image.Q: Is there a fan club for Toadstool Valley?A: A Fanclub thread will be posted for Toadstool Valley eventually. Please do not post a Fanclub for Toadstool Valley, as we will be posting one at a later date when we're ready for it.Q: How do I gain access to the Discord?A: At the moment, we do not have a Discord set up for Toadstool Valley. Once one has been established, all you will need to do to gain access is private message any of the Toadstool Valley staff and request an invite link!Q: I have a question that I don't want to ask in public. What should I do?A: If you have a question related to Toadstool Valley that you would rather not post publicly in the thread, you are welcome to private message rainbowpanda101 at any time. Her PMs are always open, and she checks them quite often so you will probably get a response within 1 to 3 days. However, if you do not get a response within 3 days, send your message again. Sometimes her inbox gets messy, so just keep trying until you get a response.
