Snow Cat Adoptable Rescue (hereafter called SCAR) is a character development centered species. The goal of these little guys is to work on character development. Although worldbuilding is heavily encouraged as well, the primary focus will be on character development

What is a Snow Cat? Well I'm glad you asked. A Snow Cat is a cat-like creature with a long tail and thick fur. They live in the snow, as their name suggests, carving out dens in the ice and often living in large social groups known as packs. The markings on a Snow Cat's forehead tells you their family clan. Each Snow Cat you adopt will have a unique marking, unless it is a cub you have bred, in which case the marking with be the same as its mothers.

Snow cats are a closed species at this time.

What is new in V2? There are several changes coming to SCAR.
Firstly, artists will be required to make a minimum amount of adopts per month, those that don't without notifying me that they will be too busy will be removed from the staff team.
Secondly, I will be paying closer attention to cats that need readopted.
Thirdly, I will no longer be making adopts myself, as too often I forgot to judge them.
Fourthly, events will be better planned and ready on time
Fifthy, I intend to keep SCAR much more active. That's it that I have planned for now, obviously I will be going through and tweaking things, and I will keep this updated.

( obtain a commander )
In order to get started with SCAR, you're going to need a Commander Snow Cat. Commanders are shown by a special marking that appears somewhere on their body after they have been ranked up, and vanishes if they are ever ranked down. Though you may set up the hierarchy of your pack however you like, you must have a Commander as your leader. Commander markings can be any size or shape, and they are always the same color as the Snow Cat's eyes.

In order to get your Commander, you may do one of two things. You may redeem your free Snow Cat using the form in the Tickets section, or you may adopt one through our normal means and rank them up into Commander position. To do this, you must not have a Commander form posted.

Please note if you have any Legacy Snow Cats, you may get a second free Snow Cat, whether or not you choose to keep your already existing Snow Cats.

( create a home for your pack )
In order to keep track of which Snow Cats you own, SCAR asks that you create a home for your pack to live in. Whether this is here on ChickenSmoothie, or on a CS-Approved site (such as Toyhou.se or Weebly). Once you have your Commander, you will be given three weeks to create a home and level up. If at the end of two weeks you have not, a moderator will message you, giving you a reminder. You will then have one more week to finish the bare-ground tasks. If you still fail to do so, your commander will go up for public adoption and you will have to adopt a new commander if you wish to continue with SCAR, as stated in the rules.

Everyone starts off as a Bare-Ground. A Bare-Ground is entitled to have a single Snow Cat, their Commander.
In order to level up and be able to have more Snow Cats, you'll need to preform some tasks, simple things like creating personalities, or histories for your Snow Cats, in order to develop them.

When you complete all tasks needed to level up, please post on the archive so that our archivists can mark you off. You don't need anyone to confirm you've marked up, but we will be checking every so often, and if we think you skimped on a task, we'll let you know, and your leveling up will be put on pause until it's fixed.

★ Give an NPC some love! Draw or write a scene with one of your Snow Cats interacting with an NPC (full list of NPCs can be found on the discord) (400 word minimum / lined and colored drawing)

★ Describe the relationship between two of your Snow Cats (200 words minimum)
★ Describe your pack's religion, do they worship gods? are they athiest? what is their religion and how does it affect their day to day lives (300 words minimum)
★ Describe the duties of your pack's ranks, what does each rank do? (50 words per rank minimum)

You may have thirty Snow Cats total
★ Create a playlist of music for your Commander (5 songs minimum, 30 song maximum) this can be on Spotify or Youtube
★ Write or Draw your Pack preforming an important ceremony. Be sure to describe the ceremony in full, either in the writing or under the artwork. (700 words minimum / lined, colored, and shaded)

You may have thirty-five Snow Cats total
★ How does your pack react to cats with Mythical Traits? Do they have a superstition about cats who have a specific mythical trait? describe it! (400 words minimum)
★ How does your pack do relationships? Are they assigned? Do mates propose to each other under a specific tree or moon? Describe it! (300 words minimum / lined art)
★ How does your pack deal with death? Are there ceremonies preformed? How does the pack mourn? (300 words minimum / lined art)
★ Give one of your Snow Cats (or the whole pack!) an enemy. How did they gain this enemy? Who is this enemy? Why are they enemies? Describe it all (500 word minimum)

★ golden sky ★
(level 10+)
You may have 5+ Snow Cats for every time you level up (level 10: 40, level 11 45, and so on)
★ LEVEL 10 ONLY: You've come this far, and now it's time to say goodbye. Choose any of your Snow Cats to die. This Snow-Cat will gain a glow on their reference to depict death.

Deceased cats can no longer be used for prompts, so choose wisely. You can of course 'kill' one of your SCs before this, and you can also do it after. Simply message the artist of the SC informing them that the SC has died.

Be warned, you cannot bring a dead SC back to life! Once they die it is permanent, so choose wisely.

EVEN LEVELS ONLY (10, 12, 14, etc)
★ Write or Draw a scene of your Snow Cats interacting (400 words minimum / lined and colored art)
★ Ensure that all of your Snow Cats up until this point have a Personality and History

ODD LEVELS ONLY (11, 13, 15, etc)
★ Show a relationship between two of your Snow Cats (300 words minimum / lined and colored art)
★ Draw or Write a "Day in the Life of..." scene of one of your Snow Cats (1000 words minimum / lined, colored, and shaded art)

ALL LEVELS:
★ Use your imagination to add something new to your pack. Whether you spice up your code, write a one-shot, draw a character, or even commission an art piece of one of your characters, just do something new for your pack!
Please note if you change code you cannot bounce between two codes for your something new.


★ At any time: Now that you've made it to Golden Sky, congratulations! It's been a long journey. Now that you've made it this far, and proven yourself an active member of SCs, you can create a second pack. The Commander must be custom ordered, and you cannot have your original pack members move to the new pack without a good reason, that must be verified by myself first. This pack will also level up separately of your Golden Skies pack.

The requirement to make a second pack, is that you first have to make something for the community, for any SC user to use. Whether this be a banner, a stamp, or lines for the Oekaki, or even something different. Just something free to use for the entire SCAR community.

Like was briefly covered above, you can have custom Snow Cats in your pack. In order to obtain these, you may redeem your free cat if you have not done so for your Commander. You may also order them from our artists, whose prices are listed in the artist bulletin, linked up at the top of the thread.

There are seven types of tickets you can get in SCAR. Custom Tickets, Breeding Tickets, Free Tickets, Edit Tickets, MYO Tickets, Dual Surrogate Tickets, and Purchase Tickets.

Custom Tickets: Allow you to purchase a Custom Snow Cat from an artist - Price varies from artist to artist
Breeding Tickets: Allow you to breed two Snow Cats - Free
Free Tickets: Allow you to claim one free custom Snow Cat - Free, one time use per user
Edit Tickets: Allow you to request an edit for one of your Snow Cats - 5C$ for Common Traits, 10C$ for Uncommon, 20C$ for Rare
MYO Tickets: Allow you to create an MYO Snow Cat outside of MYO Events - 10C$ for Common, 15C$ for Uncommon, 25C$ for Rare
Dual Surrogate Tickets: Allow you to breed two surrogates in the nursery together and keep the cubs - 20C$
Purchase Tickets: Allow you to purchase an Artist Search Snow Cat, with permission of the original artist - 10C$
Redesign Tickets: Allow you to have an old design redone on the new thread - 5C$


You may also gain tickets through Events or if an artist gives you one as a Honorable Mention in a contest.

In order to keep from exploiting this feature, you must wait a minimum of three weeks before trading or selling your Snow Cats. If you wish to trade or sell, you and your partner must confirm the transaction on the cat's page.

It is up to you how much to sell your SC adoptables for, but once a trade has been confirmed and completed, it may not be undone without both parties approval, so be sure before you sell your Snow Cat.

In order to keep from exploiting this feature, you must own a Snow Cat for two months before you gift it, and you must wait three months in between gifts. The exception is if you are disbanding your current pack, in which case you may gift all of your existing SC to people (they must confirm accepting before the gift is complete) and fully restart, but you must wait six months in between disbandings!

If you are recipient of a gift, you will be alerted via PM that the prior owner wishes to Gift their cat to you. In order to accept, you must post on the cat's original page confirming that you have accepted the gift. If you do not do so within two weeks, the gift will be considered void and the owner will be able to offer it to a different person, or in trade. This is the only way to cancel a gift, so be absolutely sure you want to get rid of your cat before you do so.
