════════════════════════════════════════════

Hazard Cats are felines with long limbs and robotic parts. Their tails are made of metal with some form of energy in the center that holds it together. Glass screens are installed into their chests that show the cats' health in the form of a heartbeat, glowing orb, or even something else. The color of the glow on the screen matches their eyes, which typically have hollowed pupils. Some cats have static on their screens, but beware. Those cats are as dangerous as they are rare. Grates are positioned on each of the cats' sides and aid in breathing. Depending on the cat, steam, mist, or liquid can come from these grates. They have three eyes, but the one in the center is almost always taped down or covered with a band-aid. This is done due to the hidden and sometimes dangerous powers that the third eye contains. Large eyes allow them to see in extremely low levels of light and their big ears help them hear potential prey miles away. Thanks to their strong legs, Hazard cats can reach speeds up to fifty miles per hour and leap near ten feet up.

Sizes--
Adult Hazard Cats can range from heights of 2 feet to
4 and a half feet at the shoulder. Teens normally only
reach 1 and a half feet, while young tend to be no
bigger than 5 inches tall. There is a birth defect
where hazards will only reach heights of 1 foot to
2 and a half feet, but this only occurs in rare or
uncommon type hazards. It also only occurs if the
cat with the defect was the fourth spark in their
litter.
Diet--
Hazard Cats are carnivorous, meaning they eat meat.
Some cats may be adventurous enough to try an
omnivorous diet, but, in order to be healthy, they must
eat some meat. A strictly vegetarian diet will shorten
the cat's lifespan by several years and a vegan diet will
have even worse effects.
Predators--
Smaller Hazard cats are in danger of being picked off
by large predatory birds, while the adults must be
wary of big cats, humans, and sometimes even other
Hazard Cats.
Circuit Rot--
There is a disease that rarely occurs in hazards, known
as Circuit Rot. It forms within the first two months of
a cat's life. Symptoms are eyes, mouth, or nose oozing
a strange goo constantly, sluggish behavior, nervous
temperament, and oddly strong third eye powers.
There is no known cure for this and it doesn't fade
with age.
Habitat--
Cats can just as easily be found roaming in city streets
as in a forest. They adapt to their surroundings quite
well, so Hazard Cats can be found just about anywhere
that can support life.
Uses--
Although these cats are most commonly adopted for
companionship, they do have other uses. Like regular
cats, they can serve as pest control, only on a
bigger scale. They can be trained to aid in hunting
due to their tracking and stealth skills. Some can
even be taught to be guard animals, as their size,
claws, and teeth can prove to be highly dangerous.
Hazard Cats can also become seeing-eye animals.
Null Eye--
Origonally, cats with the mutation known as Null
Eye were hardly ever seen. This is when there is
no power in the third eye. It is typically looked
down upon amoung hazards since it weakens the cat.
However, when humans found out about the mutation,
they began to breed more cats with it. This is
because it makes Hazard Cats safer pets. So, the
mutation is less likely to be found in the wild
and more likely to be seen in homes.Colors--
The coloration of Hazard Cats vary widely. Although
natural colors are more common, brighter and even
neon shades have been seen before. Their patterns
are not restricted to natural types and may include
designs such as spirals or glowing markings.
Lifespan--
Having oddly extended lives, most cats live to be
in their eighties. The oldest cat on record lived
one hundred and twenty years. When growing older,
hazards typically do not weaken as much as a human
would.
Powers--
It has been discovered that Hazard Cats contain
a special power in their third eye. Most possess
a stunning gaze, while others can lull creatures
to sleep or change emotions. In very rare cases,
they can control a certain element. The powers
will activate if the eye is open.
Static--
Although genetics is the most common source,
serious injury, poor health, or failing mental
state could all trigger white noise to appear. Cats
with static tend to have violent mood swings, and
are weaker than the average hazard, yet they are
highly dangerous. Their unstable mechanics will
lend them an energy boost in times of need, giving
them a near unstoppable "rage mode".
Grates--
Hazard Cats breathe by inhaling through their mouth
or nose and then exhaling through their grates. There
are valves both in their throats and grates that shut
when not being used. Grates are also used to
progressively expel waste from the body in the form of
water vapor. The inside of the grates needs to stay
damp or else it could chap and become painful. There
are three different methods for this. The first is
steam, which is the most common due to how
effective it is. The second is mist, which different in
temperature. Steam is hot, but mist is cool. The final
method was not supposed to exist. Due to a loss of
control over the dampening system, the liquids would
drip instead of turn into vapor, thus causing goo
grates.
--Intelligence
Hazard Cats' ability to think critically can range from
that of a 6 year old human child to an 8 year old. They
are able to understand many simple words in human
language, but words with three consonants or more are
often too difficult. They can be taught to read and are
able to complete simple puzzles. Sometimes, cats will
even create crude tools to the best of their ability.
It is unknown to scientists how advanced the language
that the Hazard Cats speak is.
Tails--
Crackle tail -- This is the most common type of tail.
The tail is connected by a powerful energy force that
crackles and sometimes branches out like small-scale
lightening. Acting like a solid object, these tails cannot
be separated. Oddly enough, the beam is said to feel cold.
Light tail -- Not as commonly seen as the crackle tail.
This type of tail is formed by a beam of concentrated light,
like that of a floodlight. These tails often cause problems for
the cats because if the beam of light is interrupted, the cat's
tail tip will clatter to the ground. The tip will re-attach as
soon as the beam is no longer being interrupted.
Bead tail -- Much less likely to be seen than any of the
others. The tail is attached by three brightly glowing orbs
that hover in space. Although the orbs act like solid objects,
the rest of the tail will not. Meaning, an object that passes
through the open space between orbs will not disconnect
the tail tip.Grates--
Steam grate -- The most commonly seen grate. When
the cat exhales, a puff of steam will come from within
the grate. The steam is not hot enough to burn normally,
but it will begin to heat if the cat is angered.
Sound grate -- This type of grate is uncommon. Cats
can generate sounds and noises from these. Noises range
from music to nature sounds, such as ocean waves. Along
with sound, these grates let out wisps of mist when the
cat exhales.
Goo grate -- These grates are very difficult to find.
Rather than a vapor, strange liquid seeps constantly
from this type of grate. Typically, the goop will not
harm their environment, but cases have been observed
where the liquid acts like acid. Thankfully, this is not
common. Cats with goo grates often have some
breathing trouble or poor health.
