What is a Zephi?
Zephinas, or Zephis for short, are large feline-like creatures that roam large wooded areas and the tundra. They come in mostly un-natural colors and always have swirl-like patterns on the back legs and flank. Once or twice a month though, a rarer Zephi is found. This Zephi is natural with un-natural colored swirls. Zephinas can grow to the size of a large tiger, but more times than often, they never get larger than a mountian lion.
There is a distinct differance in the males and females of this species.
The males have antlers, which are simalar to those of a white-tailed deer. They also have two "wisps" coming from the base of the tail. They are sleeker than the females. This is due to the fact they spend most of their time hunting and fighter off rivals; they can't have a tons of fluff getting in their way.
The females are much fluffier, due to the lack of invlovement in hunting and fighting. Female Zephis are pretty much "stay-at-home moms". They love children, and sometimes, if they find a little one alone, they will adopt them. Females also have six "wisps" attached to their tails. These are used in attracting a male.
Feathers
Every Zephina has wisp-like
structures that come fom the
base of the tail and flow behind
them. Attached to the end of these
"wisps" is a single feather. The males
have two wisps, while females have six.
Female Zephinas also have two feathers
that attach to the backs of the paws.

Leg Pattern
This distinct marking allows a Zephi to
recognize one of their own. Every Zephi's
leg pattern is decided at birth, and it is
not gentic. It covers the flank and
can go as far down the leg as the toes. This
pattern is rarely a neon color and is often
coordinated with the feathers.

How do I adopt a Zephina? Do they cost anything?
~ Nope! Zephis are completely free! Just follow the artist's form that they will leave in the first post of a Zephi. Also, Keep an eye out for the Green spot. This means a Zephi is up for adoption. A Red spot means the Zephi is owned, and an Orange Spot means the Zephi is closed for new forms, and Judging has began.
Can I make a Custom Zephi?
~ Zephis will never be completely customizable. I feel as though this will not make them as unique as the can be. However, there may be voting that will allow those interested in the species to choose a palette or color scheme for a Zephi to be designed off of. There is also a possiblity of contests. Contest winners will be allowed to choose whatever palette they wish to have me design them a Zephi from. Remember it must include at least one natural color.
Can I breed my Zephi?
~ Yes! However, Zephis can only mate with other Zephis. They are a straight species. Females mate with males. This species also mates for life and can only have a litter every 4 months. For more info about breeding, check out the Zephina Nursery!
