A Dakoya is a curious combination of the Australian Dingo and the North American Black Bear. These mammals inhabit the American, North Western coast such as Washington and Oregon. Dakoyas remain a mere myth to humans and have only been spotted 2-3 times in the past 100 years.

- Don't complain if you don't win
- Respect artists
- No bribery
- Dont claim Dakoyas as your own species, or make any species similar to Dakoyas
- Don't resell your Dakoya
- If you no longer want him/her, PM Wazaiyata or I and we will re-adopt your Dakoya
- Don't take your Dakoya outside of CS
- No spamming
- No bullying or fighting of any kind will be tolerated on this thread
- The maximum Dakoyas you may own is 5
- Please do not apply for any more Dakoyas after you have 5
- Dakoyas do not and never will posses any special powers. Please do not act like your Dakoya has any magical abilities
- No mini-modding. Wazaiyata and I will hire moderators if we need any assistance moderating this thread
- Do not ask to be an artist or moderator. If we need any help on the species we will hold a contest.
- Do not ask for a custom Dakoya

- Females may only have 3 litters total in their lifetime
- If you wish to breed your Dakoyas then check below to see if Wazaiyata or I are open for breeding. If we are PM us with the links of the two you wish to breed.
Wazaiyata: CLOSED
Alona: CLOSED
- You may not breed 2 Dakoyas of the same gender, but a homosexual pair may 'adopt' a cub from our Nursery and raise it as their own.
- Allow approximately one week for your cubs to be created

Welcome to the Dakoya Den!
We are not currently looking for any staff on the Dakoya team, but thank you all so much for your support!
Because many people are confused by what we mean by a Dakoyas "Socilization" status, the three types of socilization statuses are:
Family Groups= (This is less common than solitary, or partnered dakoyas) Dakoya, his/her mate, and their cubs will live and hunt in a group until death or the cubs find their own mates.
Solitary Dakoyas= Dakoya will find a mate, live with said mate until cubs are born and raised. Then the Dakoya will part with mate and cubs once cubs are old enough to go out on their own. Solitary Dakoyas may find another mate and have a new litter with their new mate.
Partnered Dakoyas= (Most common form of Dakoya relationships) Dakoya will find a mate and mate for life. If the pair has cubs, they will seperate from the cubs once they are of age to live alone.

The average Dakoya is about the size of a large great dane, though males are stockier and thicker-coated than females. All Dakoyas have thick coats, and large front paws equipt with big claws for digging and hunting. Some male Dakoya choose to eat only meat. Because of all the protein they ingest, these few males will develop one spike antlers. One spike antlers are not very common among Dakoyas, along with some other features such as large fluffy ears and snow leopard like tails. Dakoyas are solitary hunters, with the exception of family groups. They can run and trail prey for decent distances, but are not the fastest of mammals. Dakoyas lack the ability to pounce on their prey, but make up for it by tripping, or breaking the animals legs. Being mostly omnivorous, Dakoyas consume a wide range of things. In the spring when food is plenty, Dakoyas will prey mainly on small mammals and rodents such as mice, lemmings, possums, and squirrels. Because of their build, Dakoyas aren't the best at hunting large mammals but can occasionally be seen hunting a doe or juvenile elk. They use their large claws to roll over rocks so they can feast on grubs and moths, and dig for roots and wild onions. Dakoyas do not hibernate but decrease their food intake, greatly during the coldest winter months.Sadly as Dakoyas age, they can encounter some medical problems. Hip dysplasia is commonly seen in older Dakoyas, as their weight can cause the hips to deteriorate. This can handicap a Dakoyas ability to hunt properly, and cause discomfort. Cataracts is another hindrance that may appear with old age. The effects include blurry vision and occasionally permanent blindness. Dakoyas can be born anytime of the year, but are mainly birthed during the early months of spring. Dakoyas have a gestation period of 5 weeks, and deliver 2-5 cubs in the average litter. The life expectancy of Dakoyas is about 30 years, the oldest Dakoya having been 38.
