Oh dear this is gonna sound kinda stupid but
What's the difference between OOC breedings and IC breedings? Do they do anything? ;w;

What's the difference between OOC breedings and IC breedings? Do they do anything? ;w;An OOC breeding is an out of character breeding, which means the
Viscling is not related to the parent{s} in their stories / characters.
An IC breeding is an in character breeding, which means the Viscling
is related to both/one parent{s} and is involved in their stories / characters.
An IC breeding could be an example of two mates being bred. Sometimes, some
people will breed their Viscets to have a Viscling for one {or both} parent's back
story, history, etc, if it is theirs. c:
I hope this makes sense ^^;;

i just wanted to know because i am having no luck at all with getting a viscet. thanks for reading!

Well, I would say it depends on what kind of competition it is. Well defined stories with a good plot should give you a pretty good chance to get one. Prettying up your form is usually okay unless the artist says otherwise. um, yeah, that all I can think of for now... hope it helps!
You can call me, Mint or Minty.
I usually type in green.

as an artist I typically am looking for who can develop the character best through whatever requirements I set for the form.
If there's writing, then through writing. If art, then through art. Etc. Prettying up can help (unless said otherwise) but mostly I think artists as a whole look for whoever puts the most effort vs character development in their form. My suggestion would be to think on the character you want, step into to it and develop it if possible and then go all out. The more your heart is in it, the more it shows. c:
And never ever give up, even if you aren't having luck just yet - keep putting your all into it. You can do it, and good luck in all current & future competitions!
Ah, well about judging and whatnot (for me at least! you do whatever you're comfortable with), I'd say just go with whatever form you feel deserves it the most with the parameters you set :0c
It's a lot about gut instinct no matter how cheezy that sounds, and if you have two competing forms who are neck in neck just realize that they both want the adopt pretty much the same amount, so try not to be guilty about your choice or else the person who won/did not win may suffer indirectly. ;u;
Also, remember this- I always see the comp as people competing against each other, so if a person isn't willing to do better than the best form, (and finish it within the deadline too, no matter how close they cut it- as a person who posts my form really close to the end time last minute edit-ins don't bother me at all) then I don't think someone would deserve the adopt- this is a personal opinion tho ;u;
For me personally, I go a lot by effort and presentation- creativity and/or quality is a deciding factor as well, but it doesn't mean much at all (to me) if the form doesn't go as far as it can as compared to other forms.
Some peeps do something like "quality > effort > presentation" since they don't really wanna see a whole lot of random filler in a form and/or a "too-long form" (Yanno, the whole 'saying nothing in 500 words' ;u; filler in forms is a lot like that, which is why alotta comps have specific requirements) but on the flipside, me, like some others don't really mind long forms, so I like to see that you're willing to do more with your form where others don't bother to.
so: "effort > quality > presentation/creativity" is big for me, but I also don't really account for a whole lotta filler really, unless it's explained in detail (for instance, you have likes/dislikes on a form, okay yeah; but I honestly won't weigh them at all with the rest of the form unless you take the time to explicitly explain them all, and how they relate to the character you're trying to build)
So yeah! But again, that's my opinion, and honestly that's the clincher- at the end of the day all of this is opinion-based so you're gonna have a huge gray area no matter how hard you try, cause most of these comps aren't exactly quantitative unless they're raffles or objectively point-based. :0c Tho if you are uncertain anywhere, it's p easy to get an extra opinion if you're unsure about a decision
Sorry if this is kinda long! Sometimes it's hard to decide about such opinionated comps and be as unbiased as possible in the process, but bias is the root of most of these comps and therefore unavoidable sorta ;u;
