I finally have a new laptop!! Its amazing, but really not used to it just yet. It will take a while for me to figure out how to get the whole tablet organized again but I still have my old laptop too so if I need to draw anything i'll just jump on there. Only problem is that my OLD laptop doesn't like to post anything anymore. But my new one does. So musical laptops to post stuff ;P Therefore the cows are coming!! AHHH
BTW - I am loving these imports! But definitely am excited to see my foalies.
@Razzy - Yes, before you brought Lunar, I had a breeding request sent in to Syd. The foal just hasn't arrived just yet. I believe it has been a week since the request so you are able to send in another request whenever you would like to breed her with Andivir

So I'm almost done with all the foal attitude outcomes and may have figured out a way to calculate character stats for them as well, so yay! Breedings will be going again after all of that's back up ^^ Imports should be finished soon -- I'm trying to do what I can while I've got more time so that I can do less demanding tasks later c: Finally done! Breedings coming soon <3
With that in mind, and my lack of time to be creative and decide which breeds are most needed (I may be adding a poll on that for the discussion thread pretty soon, since I'd rather increase the breed population of those already existing than add new ones and let them dwindle over time), I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and get started on our thoroughbred event! Yay! So without further ado, I'd like to introduce:RVEC's Thoroughbred Makeover ProgramFinding new homes for ex-racehorses since 2015This is going to work a bit differently from other events, and even the real life TIP -- I'm only going to be accepting a grand total of 6 trainers out of all applications submitted so that we can keep the competition close-knit, and each will be given a thoroughbred off-the-track, complete with a racing name that can later be changed to a proper show name. Horses will be first come, first serve to accepted trainers, but each trainer is guaranteed one thoroughbred. Trainers will have 30 days after all horses are received to retrain them for a new career and compete amongst both the other thoroughbreds and other horses in general. The final shows taking place will have three sections: condition, training, and desensitization. The sections will be judged as follows:
Condition
Thoroughbreds must be fed, groomed, and exercised regularly in order to reach top condition. These events must take page on a personal thread or post for each thoroughbred, and each new post/day must be clearly marked, either as a new post or under a header with the day specified. A single post with all training, grooming, and feeding all running together will not make the cut. Additionally, there is such a thing as over-feeding, and not even exercise will be able to counter that, so don't worry about having to get on and post every single day. Every few days should be plenty ^^ Horses must be exercised to the best of their ability -- their muscles haven't developed for jumping, collected circles, etc. so don't take it too quickly on them or your horse may get injured. Additionally, don't forget to have the farrier out, though a vet will have checked and approved your horse before you received him, so no worries about that. Condition will be scored on how well you've fed, groomed, and trained your horse, and there isn't so much a winner as there are scores that will later contribute to the winner c:
Training
This is the part that involves actual competitions -- you've got to train your horse, compete with him or her in at least two RVEC competitions, and work on building him or her up to being the best he or she can be. Training must be written out on each horse's page and I will then add it to the horse's stats.
Desensitization
Because these horses are used to racing, they aren't going to know what to do in a lot of new situations. That's where this part comes in. If you don't take them to shows, parades, through the city, etc., you could potentially be injured when your horse is thrown into a situation and doesn't know how to calm down and trust you. Basically, in your posts, take your horse places! Let them see crowds and screaming children and barking dogs, or the actual show day might be extremely unpleasant.
So! For the final show at the end of these 30 days, the scores from each of these three areas will be taken into account and then the actual shows will begin. First is an obstacle course to test each horse's acclimation to everyday life and to ensure that all the necessary basics have been covered. This includes walking, trotting, cantering, backing, halting, leg yields, navigating trickier obstacles, scary objects, new handlers, etc. I can literally throw anything in there, and if you haven't covered it, you've got to allow your horse's reaction to be as it naturally would with other training taken into consideration. If you write the horse to have passed the obstacle without a concern and the horse's training progress would lead me to believe otherwise, you'll lose major points. The next show is with horses in their own respective disciplines -- their final scores will be placed against each other as though they had all competed in one discipline, and training will also be taken into account. For the final competition, trainers will show off their horse's talents in an event of their choice -- whether that's bitless/bridleless, "dancing" to music, extreme versatility -- anything goes, but it must be realistic and you must have practiced each of the movements taking place in the routine at least once. After writing that all out (I'll be guiding you on what to post and when on competition day, no worries), I'll announce the winner, who will receive 50,000c and ten additional stats to place on that horse! Other prizes will be given in accordance with the competition. Oh, and it doesn't have to all be writing -- art, animation, etc. all count as working with your horse (so long as you're portraying what you're doing with that horse), so if you're stronger in one area than the other, that's fine.
Yay! Now on to the forms! Fill these questions out as the character you'll be having compete and send the form to me -- I'll announce on the Preakness the trainers that will be accepted.

Hello everyone. It's HeroHorse (again) and I have something that I'd like to tell you. I have recently set up a collection of realistic Basset Hound characters, called
Chien Kennels. To celebrate its creation and give something back to the community, I have decided to breed a litter of dogs reserved for RVEC users. These have no impact on the sim itself, though you're more than welcome to store your character on your RVEC thread if you so desire. The dogs will be given completely free of charge, although there will be a maximum of one per user. Post or message me if you have any more questions. To reserve a dog, please fill out this form and message it to me.

There is a maximum of six slots available for reservation (although there may be more dogs in the litter), so it's advisable to reserve yours as soon as possible. Thank you for reading!

Marking!
Name's Maya, but I go by a range of other names. So call me
what you like! I am utterly obsessed with Dragon Age with my main
romances being Alistair, Anders, and Cullen. I am also very
interested in horses and go riding every week for lessons.
I care for and show rabbits in 4H. My lil' bun is a Jersey Wooly
buck named Alistair after the one and only Ferelden king.
Drawing and reading are some of my favorite past times
along with roleplaying. I roleplay on both Feral Front and
Tumblr. Don't be afraid to start a conversation with me!
I don't bite and I'm always accepting of a new friend~

Ack, well, as it turns out, my Oekaki has stopped working again ^^' Almost every time I attempt to finish a drawing later, it won't let me get back on, but I can't always finish them in one sitting and if I close my laptop the wifi goes off ^^' Blahh -- when it does get back on, I'm going to finish a couple more breedings, do a couple imports, do a few more breedings, and then get the semi-customs up from the cattle artist comp c: Hopefully it won't be too long before that happens!
Yay! All fixed, though I still hope to do things in that order ^^
