question- can a chicoon be common with rare edits? I'm making a chicoon rn and having a lot of tail stripes works really well with the design, but they also have some rare edits :>

Yes and no!

No unless those tail stripes have a design on them/are a gradient. Rare chicoons have a maximum of 1 tail stripe, but yes, so long as the other stripes are unable to be counted (You can have as many as you want if they cannot be counted as a tail stripe! (please take a look at the stripe guide). I hope that helps!
