I just have a question about the whole adoption process, I'm just curious to know if there is a limit to how many you can get in a day/week period?

When adopting, there is no limit, except for the current limit of being able to own ten.
So you can try out for as many as you like at the same time, it just means if you win you'll be out of slots pretty soon and won't have the chance to adopt future DOES so choose carefully c:
