Since the Elkrin are described as "dragon deer", do they have any particularly dragon-like characteristics such as fire-breathing or hoarding gems?

The Elkrin are only bearers of small amounts of magic so they do not have the ability to breath fire or hoard gems.
The term 'Dragon-like' is just used to describe their appearance somewhat and for their distinct long tails.

They are, like many creature in Eldemore except man, capable of smaller magics such has purifying a stream or helping a tree grow.
They excel more at speed and stamina while the Runes are creatures of Eldemore that excel at magic.
An Elkrins magic tends to affect their rider more than their environment since the two depend on one another for more support.

As for the new creatures that have been appearing in the Codex, I'll let you guys guess on what they are until I complete the entry.

I do not quite understand what you are asking.
Customs are closed permanently.
None will be made any longer nor will they be made on the new site.

What I said last time was that Runes that were won on here will transfer over to the new site as a 'Custom'.
Same with the Elkrin, though designs will be reused.
If you need more info on this please revisit the Rune Dragons thread and look back through the posts.
Extensive information was given on the details of all this so hopefully that will help you more.

That would be my fault. I placed up the rules when we opened the Elkrins before it was decided that we would not be making any customs and never removed it.

I apologize for the confusion and will change them right now.
