As a suggestion head-wise, maybe a feline-like face, but an almost foxlike muzzle with open jaws to see teeth? Or you can go for a sweeter side of adoption, make it cute instead of fierce.
Maybe a lithe, almost greyhound-ish body, floppy beagle ears, and dainty paws. A slightly wolfish head, but a cutesy design.
