Draw or write about a time one of your cats traveled outside of their Clan’s territory. wrote:──►Ray was having a particularly troubled day. The air was shifting in a shifty manner, and the shadows were being more shady than usual. Nose up, ears flicking back and forth, paws light against the forest floor, Raysong searched for something out of place. Maybe a strange scent, or a newly snapped twig, or birds fleeing too quickly from the trees.
──►But she found nothing. The forest she was all too familiar with was the same one she'd always known. This, of course, was far worse. Ray was trained tirelessly on how to handle danger when it had teeth. She knew how to handle pawprints, growls, broken branches, and the thick silence that came before a predator struck. All of those made sense; they could be tracked.
──►But this threat could not be seen, nor heard, nor smelled. It was only a prickle beneath her fur. A wrongness in the air that no one else seemed to notice. The feeling made her paws itch until she finally stopped pretending she could ignore it.
──►Ray headed North. She could feel her internal compass screaming as she moved further in the direction. But the fear didn't make her paw steps heavier; it made her move faster. Because if something was wrong, she needed to find it before it found the Protectors.
──►Her search led beyond the familiar border trails, to the old bipedal camp that had long been reclaimed by nature. The place had always unsettled the tabby. Metal dens sat crooked beneath vines, strange stone paths cracked under moss, and square containers lay scattered everywhere, left behind by the creatures who had vanished long ago.
──►One of them was broken. A thick containment box sat near the back of the camp, split open. Fresh dirt lay over living vegetation, revealing that the metal beast had only recently come to rest, as if it had fallen from somewhere high above. Crumpled stone ruins to the right confirmed her suspicions.
──►The container’s lid was hanging open, and inside sat a strange stone, dark and glassy, with a sickly shine that made Ray's stomach twist. This thing had no claws, no blood, no movement, yet every instinct clawed her back, as if saying there was no chance of winning. She didn't understand what the stone was, nor why the air felt so heavy, nor why her tongue tasted sharp and metallic, or even why every bird nearby had gone silent.
──►But she knew it needed to be shut. Carefully, she hooked her claws beneath the broken lid and dragged it back into place. It scraped loudly against the broken cobblestone, moaning in resistance as it scooped dirt into its insides. Her shoulders burned, the pressure building in her chest the closer she got. Her lungs stung, her paws slipped, but Ray kept pulling until the container finally sealed with a dull, echoing thud.
──►For a moment, everything went still. Then the world seemed to breathe again. Not all at once, but slowly, as if a held breath finally released. She stood there for a long moment after her chest went back to its normal rhythm, trembling, staring at the silent human camp. She still didn't know what she trapped inside that container. She probably never would fully understand, but as she turned back South, toward home, the prickle beneath her fur began to fade.
──►Whatever that strange stone had been, it would not reach her clan now.
Write about a natural disaster your Clan has handled. wrote:──►The Celestial Protectors have handled many dangers: Predators, injuries, strange newcomers, Starriver attempting to socialize, but nothing humbled the clan quite like the flood.
──►It began after several days of heavy rain, when the river around the territory rose higher than anyone expected. By morning, water had crept into the lower parts of camp, turning paths into mud, nests into floating tragedies, and HoneyShadow’s carefully arranged decorations into what he later called “a seasonal catastrophe.”
──►Star immediately began organizing cats toward higher ground. PinkSky helped guide the nursery kits, calm and steady as ever, while Kuga tried very hard not to panic. Kira, thankfully, did enough confidence for both of them, nudging him forward whenever his paws froze.
──►SilverMist vanished before anyone could ask where she was going. This was concerning for approximately three heartbeats, until she reappeared with news of a safer path along the raised roots near the old trees.
──►Copperclover was busy carrying every small creature he could find to dry ground, including one very offended frog that may or may not have belonged to Sushi. Oat followed behind him at a leisurely pace, perfectly calm, as though natural disasters were simply wet inconveniences.
──►Meanwhile, Sienna and Honeybell somehow started laughing while trying to drag a floating moss bundle back to shore, no one knows why and they refused to explain.
──►By sunset, the water had begun to settle. The dens were soaked, the paths were ruined, and half the camp smelled like river mud.
But everyone was safe.
──►And HoneyShadow, after staring mournfully at a waterlogged wreath, quietly declared that next year’s decorations would be flood-resistant.
