What are your coral growing methods?:

The following day, Taima came trotting into the booth early in the morning with a few kid books in her possession. She greeted Enke quietly, "Good morning, dear Enke." She spoke warmly, despite the cold look she was thrown. Taima maneuvered her way to her tank, settling the books down beside it before dipping her head down to gaze upon her sprouting child. After heading back home after receiving her new task, Taima had spent the night reading anything she could find about coral and how to care for them.

Taima felt pride blossom in her chest at the sight of the grey mass being a tad bigger than the day before. "Oh look at you, Gaia! You're growin' real pretty now, darling." She praised as she nudged the books around to find one that she could read. Aloud. To her coral. Taima did this all the time with her plants back at home. Believe it or not, but she has thoughts that doing this can help the growing process. Taima also finds it to be another way to destress after a long day and bond with her plant children.

Before she could open her mouth to utter the first word in the sentence, Taima felt the shadow of the bull fall over her, a snort leaving him. "Now, how exactly do you plan on caring for this coral? Are you going to just read to it and hope it grows up and heads off to college?" Enke deadpanned, his blank visage revealing not even the slightest hint of humor. Taima cleared her throat.

"Well... Aside from reading to it, I plan to assist in cleaning the tank, changing the water, checking the pH balance, and feeding. And of course, other things that I find to help, especially with my plants back at home." Taima spoke as she closed the book a moment, lifting her gaze to him. She returned the blank expression, muffling the humor that could have risen to her glittering eyes. With a faint cough, Taima turned back to the book and her coral, "Now if you excuse me, love, I'd like to get back to taking care of my coral instead of being distracted all day."

Enke gave a low huff before rolling his eyes. "Just don't cause a distraction." He rumbled, walking off to examine his collection, leaving Taima with a satisfied smile as she began to read out loud to her coral.

Enke looks bored out of his mind as you talk his ear off. "Not very conventional growing methods.. just be gentle with them, okay?"

What a killjoy.

What is your coral's tank like?:

Callie holds the tank up, proudly displaying an array of colorful objects scattered within. Some neon colored plastic plants sit swaying in the water, surrounded by small pebbles. Stuck in the sand is an open treasure chest filled with fake gems. The tank is also adorned with ocean related stickers along the bottom.

"Do you like it?" Callie asks, beaming?. She quickly moves a couple rocks around and re-arranges the gems in the chest before allowing Enke to see anything. It had to be just right for her new friend Marina. She loved the little coral and had to make sure that the coral loved her new home.

"It sure is something." Enke snorts before adding,"but I especially like that sticker right there", he says, pointing at a sticker of a larger than average whale.

Callie laughs. I made them! She turns the tank, showing off a sticker of the ocean, a pod of dolphins, a shoal of small fish, and a great white. It had taken her a good few hours to finish and print them, but she rather liked the design of them.

I actually really like it. Said Enke, taking the tank from Callie. Although, those plants are really bright...

What is your coral's tank like?:
Sunny smiles sweetly as she guides Enke towards the brilliant display of color and light that is Tahiti’s tank. She reaches in, gently pushing a stray pebble back into place. β€œI like Tahiti’s tank to express the bright and colorful mess that she is. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure that’s what I like about it. The fact that it shows that Tahiti’s a mess. Not a perfect, care-free goody-two- shoes, but a mess.” Sunny reaches into the tank once more and gently strokes the coral. She pulls back, quietly admiring the heap of dazzling rainbow colors, so bright your eyes could melt, and takes in the glittering mass of water-proof string lights. It took Sunny days to arrange Tahiti’s tank, and all the while, Tahiti had sat in an empty bowl, pondering existence. Or at least, that’s what Sunny thought she was doing. She was right, of course. Tahiti’s goldfish friend, Rosie, swims around noisily, her tiny fish cheeks blowing up with each breath. β€œOh, and that’s Rosie. Tahiti loves Rosie. Clearly, not as much as she loves me. But she still loves her. I think.” Sunny finishes showing Enke the tank and begins to gently push him away to let Tahiti begin her afternoon nap.

What is your coral's tank like?
Milo! My dear Milo! Would you like to give a tour of your tank to Enke? Well I suppose you would! First things first, we have a beautiful rug below it with candles and succulents. Inside, we have a bubble chest to provide Milo the best entertainment. We also have some nice underwater plants that go well with the coral. There is also a nice statue of a pirate ship so Milo can imagine his greatest adventures as a brave bold pirate! And my personal favorite, and I think Milo's to, a little dolphin and sea turtle statue. We named the dolphin Flipper and the turtle Sammy. When my sweet baby Milo dreams of conquering the seas as a pirate, he has Flipper and Sammy by his side, as you cant tackle that mission without help from friends! Another decoration outside the tank is some nice decorative gems that shine and glimmer in the light. The tank itself is a pristine clear glass, with maroon rims. In order to make sure Milo is as comfortable as possible, the tank has a monitor attached to the side to monitor the water temperature. This may seem ugly and bulky, but it has been covered in a thin soft velvet fabric. Milo deserves the best conditions and has plenty of room to grow in the large tank. Recently I went down to the store and picked up some new decorations to place inside his tank! Now introducing a bubble heart! It's a statue shaped like a heart that makes bubbles. I thought it may be a nice addition to show my love for Milo. And my dear baby will not grow up selfish I'm sure of that, so I have a nice "sign" to place that reads kindness is compassion, show it. Beside it, a statue of a little crab offering a barnacle some pearls it found. We decided to name the crab Timmy, and the barnacle Barney. That's about it! I hope you enjoyed the tour of Milo's home!

What is your coral's tank like?

Pisces' eyes lit up at the question, immediately darting to the tank and showing it off Vanna White style. From afar you could tell the tank looked quite... green, however, upon closer inspection, it seemed as if the green was from the plants the young heifer decided place inside. Small fish glided through the water, weaving themselves through the tall, jungle-like plants. In the middle of it all laid the coral Pisces was to care for.

"I thought I would go for something really cool, something inspired by jungles and rainforests! It's always been my dream to go on some treasure hunting escapade in the jungle, just like Indiana Jones, so I decided to incorporate that into Sayōnara's tank decoration," she chirped, her blue eyes sparkling as they glossed over the contents of the tank, " I decided that to me, Sayōnara is a lost treasure, something so important and so needed in the ecosystem that its loss would be detrimental. In a way, I guard that treasure, and of course, so do these little Chalk Bass and Dottybacks I put in there with him."

Gently touches the glass of the tank, small purple and yellow fish skittering out of the vegetation and past the coral, and Pisces laughs. She looks back up at Enke, then back to the tank, a look of satisfaction gracing her features.

What is your coral's tank like?

Bakari looked around at the other corals in their own habitats. Many of the other corals seemed to be inhabiting lavish environments, with lots of fishy friends, ornate trinkets, little fake plants, and colorful rocks. The heifer looked back at her own coral, wondering if she was doing good enough for Peach. The pretty little coral was already a fantastic hue of pink, so she didn’t want to take away from her natural beauty with artificially dyed rocks at the bottom of her habitat. Bakari put her doubts about that subject matter to bed, nodding to herself, knowing that the natural sand would be better for Peach. It would be easier for her to adjust to life in the ocean if she was already living in sand.

The only adornment added to Peach’s home was the thermometer to measure the water temperature, as well as the lamp to keep Peach warm and able to continue with photosynthesis. β€œI... I wonder if I could make this place a little more homey for you girl. I’m sorry I didn’t think of it sooner.” So back to Enke the heifer went, this time asking for just one little ornament for her coral to have. The bull sighed, and didn’t even say anything to her this time. He just reached under the counter and slammed a little treasure chest down. Bakari grinned from ear to ear, happily squeaking out a β€œThank you!”, ignoring how grumpy Enke was feeling.

Bakari headed back over to Peach and gently put the treasure chest down in the sand beside the coral. β€œThere. Now you’ve got something cool to keep you from feeling left out! But everything here still looks natural and won’t take away from your own beauty.”

What is your coral's tank like?

What is the tank like? Well, Taima had spent the third day figuring out decorations and a potential theme for Gaia's tank. Would she even decorate it? If she did, what would she put in it? Fish? Rocks? Those silly little plastic plants that stood unnaturally straight? Or would she leave it barren to showcase the growing coral in all its glory?

Taima gave a soft sigh of relief when she settled on what she had settled on.

First, Taima filled the area around the growing coral with natural colored sand, making sure it was packed down tight. She had made sure lil Gaia was resting in the middle of the tank, giving the young coral enough room for future growth. When she was satisfied, Taima scurried out of the booth in a shuffle of hooves, leaving an unamused Enke staring after her. Her mind raced with a list of things she needed for her lovely tank.

Taima came back with a few inhabitants and decorations to add to the mix. With care, the young heifer added two Scarlet Skunk cleaner shrimp, two Hawaiian feather dusters to gently tuck behind Gaia, and some fish. Along with those came a few piles of rocks that would provide hiding places for fish, which considered of one Fridman's Dottyback and two Ocellaris Clownfish. Finally came a few tiny hand-picked shells and even a few real plants to add a more ocean-like feel to the tank. It wasn't too much nor was it too little. To her, it felt just right.

When Taima was satisfied with the layout of everything, she leaned back to take a look over.

Gaia sat proudly in the middle, the Clownfish nuzzling against the young coral as they darted around. The brightly colored Fridman's Dottyback had squeezed into the rocks to hide while the shrimp rested upon the rocks; their new perch. Despite not having much plant life, the tank felt... homey.

Taima smiled, lifting her gaze to Enke as he came to gaze upon Gaia's tank. "And that is how I plan to decorate it." She proudly chirped, turning back to gaze down at it proudly.

What is your coral's tank like?
Penelope woke to the sound of someone bustling around the shack, moving things from here to there. She sat up to see Enke plopping a large, empty, glass tank on the table where he had previously cleared a space. "W-whats that?" She asked, trying to hold back her excitement. Enke gave her the side eye and set Theodosia's jar on the table next to the tank. "I'm going out for the day, I need to get out of here. Don't touch anything that doesn't belong to you." He marched out the door mumbling under his breath as he went. As soon as the door was closed, Penelope leapt to her feet and bounded over to the brand new tank. "Oh, what a beautiful home this will make." She snatched up her satchel and ran out the door, off to the beach to gather supplies.

When she came back, Penny had arms full of things. Sand, bottles of fresh ocean water, seaweed, and other various decorations. She began putting them all inside of the tank, one by one making a little scene for her precious coral.

Just as she was about to transfer Theodosia into her new tank, Enke walked in. "Be careful!" He cried, rushing over and snatching the jar from Penny's hands. "Let me do it." He carefully dipped the jar into the water and laid the coral nicely near the center of the tank. It closely resembled the place where Penelope had found Theodosia, crystal blue water and white sands, with lava rocks scattered along the sides. "I think she feels at home," Penny whispered.

What is your coral's tank like? Milkshake is pretty broke and doesn't know much about saltwater tanks, so he just decides to paint the front of Shakecup's tank to make it seem more decorated!

Milkshake did actually research on his coral, also. He wasn't dumb enough to keep Shakecup without some idea of what to expect in terms of care. Hard to say, but Milkshake didn't just sit and read to his coral each day. He learned about salinity, temperature and other care factors.
Milk did feel bad about how bland his coral's tank was, honestly. But on the other hand, he had little money as was. This vacation took up most of his savings and he couldn't really afford anything special to put in the coral's tank; especially not something that would look pretty for twenty percent of the time and cost him money for care eighty percent of the time. (That doesn't mean he wouldn't enjoy caring for the other friend, it's just too costly right now).
    He felt really bad.
Milkshake brought out his art supplies that he had collected over the years. Paints, brushes, chalks; anything and everything. The home artist's desires. He readied himself with a cup of water, brush, paint and a chair in front of Shakecup's tank and got to work. Everything went rather smoothly and he spent a couple of hours painting, but it all was worth it in the end. Flash forward and Milk was pulling away from Shakecup's tank, concern crossing over his face. Was this a good idea?
In the end, it looked pretty good.
There were all types of tropical-looking floral painted along the front of Shakecup's tank. Plants lined the sides, growing up the glass aquarium, creating a arc of flowers across the tank. Milk smiled slightly at his work. He couldn't afford any other fancy corals and was also pretty limited in knowledge already, so he thought that maybe instead of decorating the inside of Shakecup's tank, he could just paint some friends on the outside.
