ITEM GUIDE

Hey there guys. I'm not entirely sure where to post this so I'm just gonna make big one post and then link it in the front page. Hope that's chill with everyone!

So, I thought I'd make a quick guide on how to USE your items, since, if they're used incorrectly, you won't be able to use them! (You won't get in trouble unless it's a HUGE deal, but this will make the process smoother for everyone.)

So here it is, a giant breakdown of EVERY item and how to use it!

Poncho Pals


Monochrome Glasses;
To strip the color from your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc)., saying you wish to use your Monochrome Glasses. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Carnival Bank that you are using the Monochrome Glasses. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in), and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Colored Lens;
The same setup with the Monochrome Glasses.
To add a color to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Colored Lens. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Carnival Bank that you are using the Colored Lens. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Fuzzy Headband
The same setup as before.
To add a set of ears to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Fuzzy Headband. Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

Fluffy Belt
The same setup as before.
To add a tail to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Fluffy Belt. Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Carnival Bank that you are using the Fluffy Belt. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Ink Eraser
The same setup as before.
To remove something from your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Ink Eraser. Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Carnival Bank that you are using the Ink Eraser. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Beginners Paint Kit

To use this, simply use it as your custom proof when getting a custom!


Buddy Ball
The same setup as before.
To add a pet to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Buddy Ball . Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Buddy Ball that you are using the Ink Eraser. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Spool of Ink
The same setup as before.
To add a design to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Spool of Ink . Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Buddy Ball that you are using the Spool of Ink. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Fabric Cutters
The same setup as before.
To remove a design from your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Fabric Cutters . Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Buddy Ball that you are using the Fabric Cutters. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)


Iris's Blessing
The same setup as before.
To add the halos and wings to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Iris's Blessing . Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Buddy Ball that you are using the Iris's Blessing You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Anubis's Blessing
The same setup as before.
To add the eyes to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Anubis's Blessing . Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Buddy Ball that you are using the Anubis's Blessing. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Inky Hair Gel
The same setup as before.
To add the hair to your Poncho Pal, comment on the OFFICIAL REFERENCE of the Poncho Pal (if it is an official adopt, custom, etc) saying you wish to use your Inky Hair Gel . Include any relevant details. (You can ask the artist to let you do it yourself instead)

If it is a MYO, you need to notify the Buddy Ball that you are using the Inky Hair Gel. You make a new copy of the MYO (using color in) and then post it for approval (post in the MYO Poncho Pal thread)

Starshines

To Use Your Galactic Catnip and other items;

If it is an official adoptable, you must make a new copy of your Starshine's reference and make a cover of 'seeking approval' until your item usage is approved.
In the description of the image, please include all relavent items that you've used.

If it is a MYO or one you have a reference of yourself, then all you need to do is make a new copy of the reference (color in) and make a cover of 'seeking approval' until your item usage is approved.

Because this process is used widely across other items, we will not copy and paste this description for each one. Instead, I will only go into detail about specific items and their own additional usages.

Intergalactic Catnip
This catnip should only be used on existing Starshines --- it will have no effect on undesigned MYOs and customs. (Expression changes are a common, and therefore free, trait)

Glittering Locket
This item should only be used on exxisting Starshines --- custom charm shapes are standard in the species, and it would not affect rarities in MYO's and customs.

Sewing Kit
This item should only be used on existing Starshines --- custom accessory shapes are standard in the species (as long as they exist in the proper regions for their rarity!) and therefore are unaffected. However, this item cannot be used to get a Starshine's region rarity changed; the region rarity is determined by the placement of the accessory as well as the charm.

Cloudy Pillows
This item can be used on an existing Starshine, or be applied to a custom/myo in lieu of using up a x1 Uncommon Trait (this has many uses, so feel free to ask for clarification).

Comet Contact Lenses
This item may be used on an undesigned Starshine OR an existing Starshine. However, the effect is not heredary. If using on a custom/myo, one must state VERY CLEARLY that they are using this item in order to change the eye color, or it will be rejected.

Shaped Sprinkles
This item should only be used on an existing Starshine, as it does not count as a rarity to change the shape of sparkles.

Star Chart
This item should be written in an 'other' section; let the roller know you're using it, and include what trait you want automatically passed!

Cygnus Feathers
This item can be used on an existing Starshine, or a myo/custom in place of a x1 Rare Trait: Useless Wings.

Milky Way Bottle
This item should be written in an 'other' section; let the roller know you're using it, and include how many you can use.
You can only use up to two of these in a single breeding.

Ursa Minor Brush:
This can only be used on an existing Starshine. See above directions.

Fabric of Space:
This will add a non-hereditary additional accessory to your starshine; this accessory will not have a charm on it, and is purely for aesthetic purposes.

Chosen Ones Star;
This can be used on ANYTHING! You can add a single additional rare trait of your choosing to an existing Starshine, a custom/myo, or you can add it to the trait pool of a breeding; even if neither parent has it, you're still allowed to have it rolled for. Two of these would guarantee an auto-pass of any trait of your choosing.

Pisces in a Bottle;
This can be used on a custom/myo in place of a x1 Legendary Trait; Fish Tail, or can be used on an existing Starshine. Please see above instructions for using it on an existing Starshine.

North Stardust;
This allows you to have a custom or a myo Starshine that has unlimited rare and below traits.

St. Valentine's Chocolate;
This item should be written in an 'other' section of your breeding form; let the roller know you're using it.
This can be used with up to two milky way bottles.

Neptune's Vial;
This can be used on a custom/myo in place of a x1 Legendary Trait: Goo, or it can be used on an existing Starshine. Please see above instructions for using it on an existing Starshine.


Dulcets

To Use Your Dulaid and other items;

If it is an official adoptable, you must make a new copy of your Dulcet's reference and make a cover of 'seeking approval' until your item usage is approved.
In the description of the image, please include all relavent items that you've used.

If it is a MYO or one you have a reference of yourself, then all you need to do is make a new copy of the reference (color in) and make a cover of 'seeking approval' until your item usage is approved.

Eye Candy;
This item can be applied to an existing Dulcet or a custom/myo as a replacement for a x1 Uncommon Trait: Extra Eye. Please see the above information for applying it to an existing Dulcet.

Cotton Candy:
This item should only be applied to existing Dulcets lacking the x1 Common Trait: Hair Edit, as all custom options allow you to create unlimited common-traited Dulcets.

Hard Taffy;
This item can be applied to an existing Dulcet or a custom/myo as a replacement for x1 Rare Trait: Hooves on Both Legs Trait.

Vampire's Bite;
This item can be applied to an existing Dulcet or a custom/myo as a replacement for x1 Legendary Mutation: Bat Wings Trait.

Custom Pixie Stick;
To use this item, you can use this as your proof of owning a custom slot. The custom has one uncommon trait and unlimited common traits. You may use other items to add more traits onto it.

Heart Shaped Horseshoe;
To use this item, you can include it in the 'other' section of the breeding form. By using this item, you forfeit a twin and triplet roll, and as such, will never get more than three Dulcet offspring. (See alternatively the Teddy Bear Plushie in the Crystal Shop; which could, theoretically, bring a five-child roll to Dulcets.)

Chemical S;
To use this item, you can include it in the 'other' section of the breeding form. It is highly suggested you only apply for one item per 'region' as one mutation will cancel out the other mutations. Specify what mutation(s) you want, and include multiple / what's being stacked if many Chemical S's are being used.

Tail Feathers;
To use this item, you can include it in the 'other' section of the breeding form. Let the roller know you're stacking it. Additionally, select a number between 1 and 4, as it helps with the rolling process.

Mermaid Scales;
To use this item, you can include it in the 'other' section of the breeding form.

Candy Comb;
To use this item, you can include it in the other section of the breeding form. You cannot specify the mutation. Select a number between 1 and 3 for the roller.

Gummy Tape;
To use this item, you can include it in the other section of the breeding form. Specify the color (HEX INCLUDED).


Cherub Cats are a special category.
Any changes made to your Cherub Cat require you to make them a new ref AND seek approval.
Due to the fact there is no approval thread, please just post on the main Cherub Cat thread for approval, linking to the old reference and the new reference.

You will have to make the changes yourself, requiring you to draw a brand new reference for them. You can also commission someone to draw the changes for you.

For all changes, you are required to link the old ref as well as the new one.

Blessing Bottle
Golden Sash
Archangelic Energy
Bell Tome
Lady Justice's Blindfold
Avarice's Claws
Dark Feather

This will not be repeated.

Cupid's Arrow;
This will allow you to change the tail of your Cherub Cat into any tier of your choosing that ISN'T exclusive or restricted.
This will not allow you to ADD more tails, so no amount of tails past what your Cherub Cat already had.

Blessing Bottle;
The glow can be as widespread or as localized as you want; whether it's glowing eyes, wings, or the entire body.

Archangelic Energy;
This can add a second wing type to your Cherub Cat. There is bat wings, feathered wings, butterfly wings, plant wings, fake wings, bug wings, or small wings.
ANY type is allowed, however you cannot push it into the Seraph Build.

Bell Tome;
This allows for the complete redesign of a Cherub Cat. You can do with this as you will; however, the traits must remain the same.

Lady Justice's Blindfold;
This allows for you to change the eye type to something of your choosing. No missing eyes. Heterochromia is okay. Different eye shapes, etc. is also okay.

Avarice's Claws;
As long as they aren't missing an eye or a limb I don't care how severe the scarring gets. Just don't give the kids on CS a nightmare, please.

Dark Feather;
This allows you to give your Cherub Cat a corrupted build; you can change their expression, hair, give them fangs, talons, a tipped tail, and bat wings. The tipped tail is optional, as are the fangs. The talons and the wings must be present.

Cracked Bell Tome;
You can strip your Cherub Cat of their wings, forcing them into the Wingless Build.

St. Valentine's Chocolate;
This can be included in the 'other' section of the nursery (once it's up)

Heaven's Locks;
Feel free to give your Cherub Cat a new 'do!

Neptune's Vial;
This will allow you to add the 'goo' effect to your Cherub Cat; this can be interpreted any way you like. Goo eyes, goo limbs, goo dripping from wings, legs, etc.

I wanted to give a last few updates to the Carnival.
Firstly; there is going to be one final 'horrah' at the end with some goodies for everyone.
Secondly; There are a few more things I wanted to do but haven't had the chance to because I'm sick :'(

Thirdly;
At the bank you are now allowed to swap your tickets for 3 Bottlecaps Apiece.
You are also allowed to redeem unwanted species-tokens for 5 bottlecaps apiece.
