Tansypetal cast a look over the sea, thoughtfully watching the setting sun. A friend truly would be a wonderful thing to have. Right now, building her camp kept her busy, but in between the never-ending tasks a sense of loneliness had set in. Watching the rays of the dying sun twinkling on the waves, she felt small and insignificant, alone against the world. She didn’t know what the future held for her, but she hoped she would have someone to face the unknown together. Everything was better together, after all, was it not?
Shaking her head, she refocused on her task. The air was getting colder with each passing minute, and the sky had grown darker while she had idly stood. She had more important things to do.
Keeping her mouth open to scent for prey, she set off deeper into her territory and, after a short while, found some scraps on the floor that smelt edible. Carefully, to keep them from falling apart, she took them between her jaws and was about to head back when another scent caught her attention.
Her nose close to the ground, she soon stumbled upon a plant of deadly nightshade. Her heart pounding while handling the dangerous leaves, she tore off a few with her claws and closed her teeth carefully, paying attention not to puncture them. There was no one here to help if she poisoned herself.
With her scraps and her herbs, she made her ay back to her camp.
If she hurried, she’d be home before nightfall.

The three cats made their way to CaladiumClan’s border, Condorstar in the lead. The air was heavy and humid, and Mezereonpaw’s fur soon clung to his body uncomfortably. He knew, though, that he couldn’t show any weakness in front of both his leader and his mentor, and therefore forced himself to keep up with the two larger and older toms. The Whitewing cast a glance back at his apprentice and slowed down a bit, walking beside him and encouraging him under his breath.
Soon, the three of them arrived at the border, which Condorstar marked.
“Show me what Maranonflicker has been teaching you, then,” the leader inquired, facing the Jackdaw.
Nervous but determined, Mezereonpaw set off to hunt, his mouth open to catch scents, the two other felines following at a distance behind him.

He wasn’t sure whether it was his lingering insecurity in the face of his Condor’s scrutiny or the oppressing weather, but Mezereonpaw was unable to catch anything. He was saved from shame though when he instead stumbled upon some herbs that could prove useful to the clan; Condorstar identified two poppies they took the seeds from, as well as a water hemlock growing close to a nearby stream.
The Jackdaw was far from overjoyed as they returned to the camp with their findings, but at least his patrol had still proven at least partly successful.

Puffing up her fur against the cold Ravenwing got to looking for herbs, her nose close to the floor. She hoped they would be able to find some, with the coldest season approaching ShatteredClan would really need them.
She couldn’t remember her very first leaf-bare, she either had not been born yet or had been a very young kit, but her second had been fierce. She herself had caught a nasty cold that had left her shivering for days. Never had she felt so weak and useless as during that time, and she shuddered as she thought about it now. No, it was better to diligently search so others would be spared from the same fate.

She hadn’t been searching for long when a sweet smell penetrated the crisp air. She flicked her ears and called out to Blossompaw, who swiftly joined her.
“That’s catmint!” the apprentice exclaimed; her eyes eager. “Very good find, we will need plenty of that if cats catch the greencough.”
Ravenwing purred and went ahead to get the catmint, carefully paying attention not to destroy the delicate leaves in the process.
While she was busy, Blossompaw had proceeded to look for other herbs on her own and the two mollies were soon able to return to the camp with several different kinds of herbs between their jaws.

On their way back Ravenwing also stumbled upon some dock. Vaguely she recalled Nightdawn mentioning that this herb was needed to cure Adderpaw, so she took it as well. The medicine cat would surely be delighted with their findings.

Shadowflurry fluffed up his fur, casting a worried glance at the sky. He didn’t like these cold winds – they heralded the arrival of leaf-bare, and leaf-bare was always a reason to worry. He knew the clan didn’t have enough prey to last the season, and hunting more was vital, now. That was one reason he and Laurelgaze had decided to take three apprentices at once, hoping that they would have time to teach them what they needed to know before the first snow fell.
But though the two warriors did their best to tutor the younger cats, they were unsuccessful, bringing home with them only a growing anxiety.
Well, Shadowflurry told himself. At least he had done a fine job teaching the apprentices, and they would surely be more successful the next time around.

The Tribe of Singing Wind
Flower cautiously stepped out from their temporary den, taking their time getting the grass out of their fur. This new land was scary, yet beautiful. A thin layer or frost covered the grass, and the chill slowly seeped into their pelt. ``There's only one way to start a clan, Flower``, they thought to themselves, ``You need to collect some prey before it's all gone... A hungry cat is not fit to be a leader``. Their pelt fluffed out with newfound determination as they stood outside of the small make-shift den they had made the previous night.

The world was bright as the sunlight reflected off of the frost. They made a short mental note not to step into the small streams of frigid water, and continued on their brand new journey into their new unknown territory.

Ocean Clan
She carefully snapped the deadly nightshade off the small weed clump, she wouldn't know what to use it for yet but it could come in handy whenever she meets an enemy. The only thing she knew though, was that it'd take a lot for her to have to kill a cat or use the deadly nightshades' she's gathered for bad, even if it was for the good of her clan she didn't know if she'd be capable of managing. She brought back the herbs and realized she was a bit hungry. She stored it away in the medicine den's herb storage cavelet and she left, eventually passing by her small prey pile and preventing herself from taking some. This next adventure could possibly introduce her to another cat and she'd have to be able to fill both of their bellies so she took a short one-hour nap and left the cave, carefully sliding down the stone ramp excitedly. This could be the day! Or she could find something yummy or some herbs for future use. She had already developed a cough her first couple of days in this brand-new territory, it could easily happen again! Either way, she had to be very careful, or else it could be quite deadly without someone to help or care for her. She suddenly felt a pang of loneliness, stabbing roughly through her heart. She kept telling herself she'd find more supplies or something new but every day was the same lonely agonizing search, her hoping dropping every time. She had recently received a sign, finding a small clump of tansy in the forest, she thought it was from her brother but soon she started to think otherwise... was starclan pitying her? Were they watching her? Or did they turn their backs to her once she ran from her awful clan? She didn't know. All she knew was to survive, that's it. She hoped but hoping doesn't get the job done no matter how much of it you do. You have to multitask, hoping by itself won't help. Taking action by itself won't be as effective. You have to multitask. Hoping, traveling, thinking, planning, surviving, learning, and lastly thriving is what she has to learn how to do all together, she needs to learn how to do it, or else her brother and her life would've been risked by nothing.

despite the chill in the area around her, tansypetal set out of her camp with determination. it was important for her to gather as many prey and herbs as she could, of course, though part of her hoped she'd find a new friend to accompany her on her journeys as well. after all, the molly had begun to feel an undeniable loneliness from being on her own. it would be nice to have someone else by her side.

it wasn't long before tansypetal spotted some scraps peeking under a nearby bush. it was most likely left over from a previous hunt, though fortunately she couldn't scent any rouges or predators close by. there was definitely some of it that she could salvage, though, at least enough for one meal. it wasn't much, but the molly was just glad to have found something to keep her belly full. (+1fp, +1xp)

as she continued on, she was fortunate enough to come across a good-sized patch of herbs! luckily for her, the cold hadn't seemed to have gotten to them yet. carefully picking the stems with her teeth, tansypetal grabbed as much as she could hold in her jaws. it was important for her to stock up on herbs. she had the bad luck of falling sick before and would hate to catch something again. (+1 blackberry leaves, +1 cobwebs, +1 yarrow, +1 comfrey root)

on her way back to camp, something glistening in a stream close by caught tansypetal's eye. curious, she approached it and found a star's blessing item (guaranteed 3+ kits)! what a find!

The Tribe of Singing Wind

the cold gust of wind sent a chill in the air around flower as they continued on, searching the area in hopes of catching the scent of prey nearby. though leafbare had only just begun, signs of the changing seasons had already started to appear in the area around them. such as the thin layer of ice that coated the ground, which flower had to be sure to be careful stepping around. after all, the last thing they would want is to injure themselves during leafbare.

even after a while of searching, there didn't seem to be any signs of prey close by. they must have gone into hiding from the colder weather already, flower supposed. hopefully they would be more fortunate with their findings next time. as they began their journey back to their makeshift den, they spotted something peeking under a log. upon further inspection, they discovered a generous bundle of herbs! flower grabbed as much as they could carry to bring back to their den. (+1 dandelion, +1 sorrel, +1 lamb's ear, +1 dried oak leaf)

Silverpaw was woken up by a very excited Dawnpaw who barreled into the apprentice's den, pouncing on her brother and effectively shaking him from his peaceful sleep. He hissed as he scrambled back, giving his sister a glare. "Was that necessary? Could you not have woken me up with words?" Silverpaw grumbled, stretching.

Dawnpaw laughed, and shook her head. "Nope! Berrysnap and Shadowstep told me to get you- we're going on a patrol!"

Silverpaw nodded and followed Dawnpaw out from their den, the chill of the snowy weather blowing through the cave entrance immediately making him shiver. Their mentors were waiting near the entrance, and as they crossed the camp Silverpaw waved his tail to their mothers, Minnowstrike and Cinnamonstick who were sharing tongues near the pool.

"Took you long enough, Silverpaw." Shadowstep murmured, not unkindly.

"Come on, we need to go- the earlier the better." Berrysnap meowed, turning to leave as soon as the apprentices caught up.

Silverpaw smiled apologetically at Shadowstep, and the two fell into line behind Berrysnap and Dawnpaw as they exited the cave, into the snow. It wasn't deep, but it was freshly fallen and pristine, sparkling white as he looked out over the territory. The sky was clear and colorful- it was probably just after sunrise, and the pinks and purples of the sky lingered above the mountains.

Dawnpaw was chattering about something to Berrysnap as they led the group, and Shadowstep gave him a sidelong glance and a small eyeroll. "Berrysnap, you'll scare away all the prey if you keep being so loud." She said quietly, giving Berrysnap a hard look.

Berrysnap glared at Shadowstep, but sighed. "She's right- they're here to hunt, and we should help them. Stars know we need as much food as we can get right now," the tortoiseshell said, letting the hunter take the lead. Dawnpaw nodded, looking a bit sheepish, but bumped Silverpaw's shoulder as he followed Shadowstep in moving forward.

Shadowstep led in scenting and searching for prey, letting Silverpaw practice some as they made their way through the forest. Berrysnap and Dawnpaw followed a bit behind, keeping an eye out.

She shook her head to clear it and continued on her way. She smiled and got a bounce in her step, her mouth full of useful herbs and some scraps she had found were already back in her cave-den-tunnel-system home. She nearly danced around with glee, another sign to keep going! Her brother must've been watching over her. What if it was a cat that she'd... fall for? Blush covered her face. No, she couldn't distract herself with a minor fairytale, reality Tansypetal, reality. She shook her head again and she grinned all the way home. She placed the herbs in the small, herb storage cavelet. She looked over her stock and realized she had loads of herbs, all of which were still beautifully brand-new. She quietly trudged down the cave walls and to her den which she had decided would be the leaders' and deputies' den. She smiled exhaustion nearly toppling her over. She laid in her large moss nest and fell asleep, quietly snoring. The sun started to rise and shone it's light through the entrance, which led to her den. She flicked her ears and smiled. Another day, another chance. Maybe she'd find that cat she scented. She passed by her prey pile and looked at it, Nah, she'd eat before she went on her second search that day. She yawned and stretched by the glowing entrance, angled directly at the rising sun. She walked down the slope, her usual self coming back to her as excitement filled her heart and gravely encouraged her. She grinned as the fresh, bright, morning breeze broke through herself, her energy making it feel refreshing instead of cold. She leaped over logs and closed her eyes, letting her paws lead her to whatever awaited her, good or bad.

The Tribe of Singing Wind
After his last exploration, Flower that grows under tree was beginning to feel more confident out in the strange field he was now starting to call home. The herbs he found on his last expedition would definitely prove themselves useful if he or any other cats he happened to meet got hurt. Things were looking brighter already, with more of his territory known and his half-made camp expanding. ``Slowly but surely``, he thought, leaving the warm den he had been sheltering in. The cold only seemed to worsen over the night, the small streams of ice cold water beginning to freeze over night. ``Thank starclan for this sun``.

He left his camp, tasting the air for any herbs or prey he could find in these cold conditions. ``Or any cats...``, he thought hopefully. He padded out into the cold field, his hope and determination not fleeting him yet as this new beginning continued.
